I just needed a place to sleep and access to the stove. Everything worked out and the bed was very comfortable.

Graduation getaway

The property was perfect for our stay for UVA graduation weekend. It is a quick drive to grounds and comfortably fit four people. We had a slight problem upon arrival, where the adjoining rental had gained access to our property through a door left unlocked. The owner was immediately available to resolve, but it was unnerving to find someone in our space. Recommend a deadbolt lockout between the areas for the future, as even when locked, we would have controlled access to their area- which isn't safe for the other renters.

There are barrel bolts on each side of the dividing door, which block the door from being opened from either side, when they are in the locked position. Our newish housekeeper overlooked securing the door in this case. The locking system works fine subject to human error and forgetfulness. Downstairs guests cannot access the upstairs when the barrel bolt on the upstairs side is in place, and vice versa.

Cozy little place

During my stay at the VRBO rental, I found the house to be cozy and the outdoor space lovely and relaxing. The kitchen and BBQ grill were a plus. However, there were a few hiccups. The Wi-Fi was spotty, which made staying connected a bit tricky. The kitchen was not equipped with a set of steak or sharp knives, nor were there dish towels or cloths to clean up dirty dishes. The upstairs guests were quite noisy, with a small child running laps at 7:00 a.m. Additionally, there was a lack of board or card games; there was only one deck of cards available, which eliminated any games that needed two decks. There were also some minor cleanliness issues, such as the outside table and chairs being quite dirty. Despite these minor issues, the location was convenient, and the hosts were responsive and helpful. With a few improvements, this place has great potential. I would and have planned to stay here again.

Thanks for mentioning those items. Sometimes kitchen items tend to migrate from the downstairs of the hose to the upstairs when we have groups that book Both places. I will remind our staff to pay more attention about that and about Keeping the outdoor furniture wiped down.
