Perfect home for my Birthday weekend with my family members! Cold weather didn’t stop the fun!
Lovely home with everything needed to make your stay an enjoyable one. I brought a small Christmas tree and set up for Christmas with our boys and their families. Our youngest son who lives on Johns Island came Saturday night as our very own personal chef from The Pampered Palate. The kitchen had everything he needed to cook a most delicious meal for 7 adults and 3 children. Beautiful pool but frigid temps prevented us from enjoying that. At night it was beautiful to look at, though. We enjoyed the bicycles on Saturday riding all the way to Night Heron Park and back. New Year’s Eve afternoon, my daughter in law and I walked around the shops at Freshfields. You must visit The Sanctuary and enjoy a drink at the Lobby Bar. Beautiful hotel! The park had activities and food New Year’s Eve afternoon and at 10 pm shot off an extraordinary fireworks show! My family and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay here at 136 Conifer Lane and would want to come back when the temps are a lot warmer, so we could enjoy the pool!! Thanks to the Munsons for sharing their home for others to enjoy!!
Cozy, comfortable, well-equipped home with pretty furnishings and well-maintained bikes!
Our group of six adults greatly enjoyed our stay at 136 Conifer. The owner is very accommodating and the house was perfect for us. Great kitchen and living area--enjoyed the porch and the bikes, but it was a bit too cold for the pool unfortunately. Hope to stay here again!
Relax, play golf, ride bikes to beach, and enjoy fall on Kiawah Island
Lovely location and the pool with water fall feature is awesome.
Short walk or bike ride to ocean and easy access to Fresh Fields for shopping. Only a 2 mile bike ride to town; 2.4 miles to Bohicket Marina.
Plenty of beds and bikes. Great family vacation spot.
Perfect Vacation Home!
While older than we thought, the home was well designed for flow and ease of use. The pool area was magnificent for celebrating our son’s 40th birthday with family and close friends. When everyone left, the two of us had 3 1/2 days to ourselves and, again, the house was just right.
Great location and adorable cozy feel...but a few problems.
Our visit surrounded a girls' business get together. We were looking forward to watching a virtual live stream of a national event, riding bikes, and enjoying the beautiful surroundings.
First of all, the house is adorable. We all appreciated the fact that there weren't a lot of stairs to get into the home.
We were surprised to find no ice in the freezer, along with no working ice maker, that the door knob fell off, that there were cobwebs on the patio furniture, as well as hanging from the ceiling in the living room ( which might just be part of the Kiawah experience) however, one would expect that these little annoyances would have been addressed before our arrival. We found it necessary to empty the dishwasher, and put towels the in the dryer, which none of us expected. The pool was not heated but could have been if we had wanted to pay an extra fee, though the home is listed as having a heated pool. When we went to use the bikes we found that many of them had problems and were not ridable...chains kept falling off.
Fortunately some one was sent over almost immediately to remedy the problems, who along with the owner, could not have been nicer. We liked being so close to the entrance and close to shopping etc. Again, adorable home....just a bit disappointing!
Hi Susie. I’m so sorry to read about your disappointments. Our reviews lately have been so positive so to get one like this is a surprise to us. We try to make it known that there is a fee for the pool heating. It is in the main description of our home as well as in a couple of other places in the description. Not everyone wants the pool heated and just want to enjoy sitting by it so we leave it as an option for our guests instead of including it in the rental amount for everyone. We do plan to address the concerns about the dishwasher and dryer. That should not have happened but I believe it’s because our usual cleaning lady whom we love and adore has gone on sick leave and in the end she was having helpers come in for her. This is probably the reason for the spiderwebs as well. We now have a new housekeeper and we will make sure she knows how to leave the house each week. I believe you met Marissa, whom I hired when my housekeeper was leaving. She helps with the yard and various extra things. I sent her over right away to look at the icemaker and then was told it still was not working. When the repair company came out a few days later they said it was working so I believe Marissa was able to fix it but it may have taken a day or so to start making ice again. I felt bad about this inconvenience, offered to bring bags if ice, and in the end I deducted money off of your bill. I had no idea about the other concerns. The bicycles are a double edge sword. We get rave reviews for providing bicycles and people have said that they have never rented a home that came with bicycles. They require a lot of maintenance because of the salt water and air. We advertise six bicycles but I actually have 9 or 10 there, so that there are always some back up bicycles. I hope there were at least six working bicycles when you were there. I have some great take away from your comments. I will have Marissa check the bicycles each week and put any non-working one(s) in the back of the garage until she can work on them. We will always look for cobwebs and spiderwebs inside and out (And yes they are common to Kiawah. We have been in homes there before that had cobwebs all over outside. It was very creepy and I have always asked our housekeeper to make sure that there are no spiderwebs outside under the roofline or around doorways at our house on Kiawah). Thank you for the great feedback.
Convenient to beach and activities. The children enjoyed the pool and bicycles especially
This home is located in a quiet cul-de-sac within the West Beach area. There is a heated pool (available April 1 - Oct.31). The pool can be heated during the off-season for a fee pending on the weather at that time. We are a short walk or bike ride to the bike path, shops, restaurants and the beach.
