Perfect spot for a Staycation
I am from Santa Fe and wanted to find the perfect getaway for a staycation with my partner. I’ve seen the Desert Compass on Instagram and thought it looked adorable so I booked the Cactus Suite. This beautiful Airbnb is unique, thoughtful, and basically I wish I could live there. We arrived to a clean, cool apartment that smelled like piñon, with a very comfortable bed. The art throughout is by one of my favorite local artists Jodie Herrera. The space is full of special touches- local coffee & pottery, nice woodworking, a cute mint green fridge, a plant in the shower. It feels very safe, there’s a gate and on-site parking. Talk about a great a location- it is across from a beautiful park, blocks away from the museums, Sawmill Market, Spurline. We didn’t get to try the pool but I’m already planning my next trip with some girlfriends. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this spot! Thank you Desert Compass for making this oasis affordable and beautiful

Beautiful Space, Great Location
We enjoyed our stay at the Desert Compass. We stayed in the Cactus Suite, which is spacious, comfortable and charming. Everything looks just like the photos, and we appreciated the recommendations and information in the room guidebook. Overall this was a quiet, cozy spot with a great table area to work from and great location from which to explore Old Town and the surrounding neighborhoods. We'd stay here again!

Real Gem in Old Town
I found this oasis as it was located close to an event weekend. Nicely restored and decorated with the modern New Mexican flare that fits the area! Very secure with keypad locks ( no card keys!). Make sure you read all the information they send prior to your visit. This will make sure you get the combination to your unit! My upstairs unit was quiet and had views. However, stairs are steep and narrow, so make sure you are aware of this prior. The hosts do warn of certain characteristics that should be considered prior to reserving. The king bed is comfy, but is not high off the floor. It does show off the lovely headboard that is the centerpiece of the room. Very well stocked kitchen and the bathroom had plenty of room for all your makeup. Nice shampoos and lotion were also available! The park across the street is lovely!

I’d give it 6 stars if I could!
Every single detail was thought of! It’s beautifully designed and unlike most stays these days it feels like you get your monies worth. There was a brita in the fridge, which was a home run for me, the bed was so cozy and having never stayed in an Adobe style home before I feel like it completed our trip to Albuquerque. The location is perfect and it was really nice to be able to walk to Old Town. If we pass through ABQ again we will definitely be staying and trying out a different suite!

An Oasis in Old Town ABQ
We loved our stay at The Desert Compass! The Cactus Suite was very spacious and comply for our stay in Albuquerque. The kitchen was move in ready;) ,the bed was comphy and the shower was so welcoming with it’s beautiful trailing ivy. We were walking distance to The Sawmill and Old Town ABQ. We didn’t use the tricked out stock tank pool but it’s ready for lounging! Thank you Kelly for creating such a sweet little getaway 🌈

Such a perfect ABQ getaway!
My husband and I stayed in the Cactus Suite for one night and we had the best time! The room was absolutely stunning. My husband is a designer and he was blown away at all of the design and decor details. The Desert Compass has totally nailed the stylish Southwestern vibe perfectly. We especially loved the custom headboard and the adobe-style kitchen. They also have sustainable bath products! This was our first overnight trip in Albuquerque, and we were excited to see that there were so many cute spots within walking distance. We went to Level 5 (a rooftop bar) for drinks and then to Sawmill Market for breakfast, and both were about a 5-10 minute walk away. Definitely recommend The Desert Compass to anyone looking for a stylish, unique place to stay in ABQ!

Pure perfection
I was left speechless after my stay at The Desert Compass - the intricate, perfectly curated detail along every corner of the property is unbelievable. From the moment I drove down the adobe walled driveway, I was transported to an unforgettable experience. First, the grounds are stunning! I thoroughly enjoyed the lounge chairs, hammocks, and the dreamy pool that's just the right size for a quick cool down after a long sunny day. The Cactus Suite is enchanting. From the stunning local art by Jodie Herrera to the modern design touches that combine aesthetic maturity with practical comfort, this suite is incomparable to any place I've stayed in the Desert Southwest. The plush king bed took me into another dimension. I'm looking forward to the day I get to experience more of The Desert Compass, and will be raving about this place forever!
