Cozy, clean, comfortable, and stunningly beautiful. This house has everything you need for a magical mountain getaway. Gorgeous views of the river and mountains, comfortable beds, and all the modern conveniences. We wished we could have stayed longer!

Honestly I have never felt so at home in a rental than I did here. It had all the comforts of home but better. The views are amazing and so peaceful. The drive to the home was incredible ,lots of wild life and the Mountain Views were amazing. The Host were so nice and very responsive to questions. I will definitely be staying here again.

The front porches overlooking the river are wonderful. A nice cool breeze always! The house is very comfortable and well stocked with kitchen needs. A great family rental. Would definitely rent again!

This home was absolutely stunning! It was impeccably clean, beautifully maintained, and offered breathtaking views from every room. We had the most relaxing and enjoyable stay and only wished we could have stayed longer. The views were so incredible that we would love to come back and experience this home during a snowfall.The owners were wonderful to work with and provided excellent communication throughout our stay. The kitchen was exceptionally well stocked with everything we could possibly need and then some. Every detail made us feel comfortable and at home.We truly loved our time here and would not hesitate to stay again. Highly recommend this property to anyone looking for a peaceful getaway with unforgettable views!

Incredible Home and Location! Stayed 3 nights with my family. The pictures do not do it justice. Imagine a castle with 60’ cliffs on three sides, beautiful views, very private, a peaceful place that you could easily write your first novel in (there’s even a writing desk placed in front of a floor to ceiling window facing the tranquil mountain forest). Exceptionally clean inside and out, well stocked, with clean linens. Would definitely stay again, but longer next time. To make the review real, my only suggestion is to replace the pans, they are worn and made cooking a challenge. Otherwise I would give this gem 10 stars! Thank you for sharing this beautiful place with us!

Home away from home

Very nice place to stay. Very clean and neatly organized. Beautiful view from every window you look out. I would recommend this place to anyone that wants to get away for a while.

Wonderful Stay

The House was great! Clean and beautiful in a beautiful area. Also, the kitchen was well-stocked with dishes, spices, pots/pans, etc. Better than any place we've ever stayed. The TV was easy to use and everything else worked great as well. Thanks for a great place to stay for a very special Thanksgiving!

Relaxing Stay

David and Lynn were very responsive to all my questions. The house is set up great with lots of touches that you don’t find at most rentals. The kitchen has just amount everything you could want. The beds are very comfortable and super hot water in the showers. Our stay was just want we needed to escape the South Georgia heat!!

The house was very clean. Kitchen was well supplied with kitchen cookware and utensils.

We had a great time. Sitting on the porch in the rocking chairs watching the kayaks and canoes go by. Access to the river gave us the opportunity to do a little fishing. I would definitely recommend and go back to this house.

Beautiful and Relaxing!

We loved our stay here! It was clean, stunning, and perfect for our family to gather! It was nice to have multiple sleeping options since we had two children under 2! The fully stocked kitchen was very helpful as well as the large rooms and plenty of restrooms! And you can’t forget the beautiful decks! Hosts are very responsive and gracious! We hope to stay again!

Beautiful Location

Overall everything was great, met with the owners as well and they were lovely. Only bad thing is our stay wasn't long enough. The locale right on the mountainside was great, not hard to find although google maps did take us a dead end way on the ride up but it was quickly rectified. The cabin itself was clean and in a good area but not too far away from necessities. Wondeful trip all around.

Weekend Stay

Had a great weekend in the area. Google maps is a little spotty getting to address, it was try to send us around back of neighborhood, so rely on written directions. Also gate buttons need to be firmly pressed to register. Other than that property was nice and very clean.

Peaceful and relaxing

Sometimes you just wanna disconnect. We were looking to get away for the weekend with little interruptions. This house gave us that. You will feel like you are in a tree house. Your view is of the new river and surrounding mountains. Go fishing, hiking, or check out what Ashe county has to offer. Regardless of how you choose to spend your day, you will leave refreshed and rejuvenated. House is beautiful, clean, and very private. Hosts are very helpful. Will definitely be back.

Disappointed

No cable or satellite tv couldn’t watch college football. Community clubhouse burned to the ground. Swimming pool closed. Isolated location not close to restaurants and stores. I would not stay there again.

Sorry you weren't able to watch your favorite college game. TV's in the home are streaming ready. It's unfortunate you were not able to take advantage of the amazing restaurant, The River House Inn, I emailed you about prior to your stay, or visit The Red Dog Bar and Bistro which is 10 minutes from our home with a great menu and large screen sports viewing. Hopefully, you were able to enjoy the nearby golf and fishing options you mentioned looking forward to in your booking inquiry. The clubhouse and pool referenced are not part of the neighborhood and were not listed as an amenity. Our home provides the best of both worlds with amazing mountain views overlooking the New River plus a short drive to shops and more restaurants in West Jefferson, Lansing and Sparta.

Nice and peaceful

Very peaceful area.The house was very clean and looks exactly like pictures shown online.This rental is more for older adults or couples.It is kid friendly but not much for younger kids/teenagers to do in the area.You can ride down to the river but no access to the water.A lot of bedroom space,but bring extra TV’s if you are a bedroom TV watcher.The house is at the top of a mountain so definitely get what you need before you go the nearest store/attractions are 30-45 minutes away and the drive up and down can be time consuming due to country mountains roads.Not a bad place just to clear your mind and relax!

Beautiful retreat

I was fortunate to find availability for this beautiful cabin for Thanksgiving as late as I did. I only wish it had been available longer than two nights! I didn't hear from the owner before our stay, but the check-in instructions were clear, and the house was ready for us with a welcoming basket of snacks, including dog treats 🐾 and coffee/tea bar with a wide range of options. The space was perfect for our family, with space to gather together indoors and outside on the main level and privacy on the lower level and loft master with spectacular views. Thanksgiving day we watched the sunrise from bed, had coffee on the deck, made breakfast in the well equipped kitchen, then walked down the (steep) road to the river. We prepped dinner, watched football, sat by the chiminea, played games, and generally had a wonderful time together. Only wish
