Bedrooms 3
Property type condo
Minimum Stay 2 - 7 nights

About the property

Condo, (3 bedrooms, 1 bath)

Our Tropical Paradise is oceanfront and conveniently located between historic Haleiwa and Waimea Bay at the world famous Chuns Reef beach. Great swimming, snorkeling, scuba diving, and surfing are right in the 'front yard.'

Our recently renovated home is fully furnished and offers panoramic ocean views and gorgeous sunsets from throughout the house and on the numerous lanais. You can watch the sea turtles and humpback whales swim in the warm clear turquoise blue water from your comfortable bed or the dining table.

The quiet tropical surroundings and soothing ocean sounds provide that relaxing experience found here on the Hawaiian Islands. - And a short 5 minute drive (or 2 mile walk) to historic Haleiwa Town offers art galleries, quaint shopping, and fine dining.

This listing is for UNIT A.

UNIT A (Sleeps 1 to 6): Has 3 bedrooms & 1 bathroom with 2 king beds, and 2 twin beds in the third bedroom.

There are 3 different units on the property. Unit A (3 Bd, 1 Ba - sleeps 6), Unit B (3 Bd, 2 Ba - sleeps 6), and Unit G (large sectioned studio, with 1 bathroom - sleeps 4).

The units are vertically arranged with Unit B on the top, Unit A a few steps above ground level, and Unit G is partially below ground, but gets good light as it has a long bank of windows. Units A & B face the ocean and have oceanfront lanais. Unit G is only offered with Unit A and/or Unit B and does not have an ocean view.

There is also an outdoor shower and plenty of parking on our nicely landscaped gated property.

Our Tropical Paradise is 'well cared for' since we personally (as well as our family) stay in all units, and we do have wireless broadband internet access. Over the years, we have had 100s of delighted beach loving guests.

Awesome location--in love with turtles!

  • 5 of 5

Fantastic location! Loved watching the turtles and surfers from the deck! We enjoyed sleeping to the ocean waves. No problem with bugs like last place we stayed. Clean and great parking area. We stayed for daughter's graduation from HPU. Enjoyed going to Haleiwa, Sharks Cove, Polynesian Culture Center and Sea Life Park--all with in good driving distance. Owner and management company responsive and great to work with. Definitely prefer staying on the North Shore and defiantly would stay here again! Thank you for sharing your home with us and for the great memories!

Canadian Paddlers

  • 5 of 5

What a fantastic home! Location is perfect! So close to town but so quiet and right on the beach! A group of 9 outrigger paddlers spent 10 days here and look forward to our next visit. You can sit on the porch or back lawn for hours watching surfers and listening to the waves. North Shore is by far the place to stay. Haleiwa is a small but cozy town and everyone there was so welcoming and made us feel like we were family. Spectacular scenery in every direction with great hikes nearby. I could go on and on but I just reccommend staying here and discovering it yourself. I know we will be returning for sure.

Our family group of 12 ranging in age from 4 to late 60's had a spectacular week at Haleiwa Surfside. Some things we liked:

the views are fantastic

the nearby beach (about a 100 yard walk) is soft white sand with areas to swim, snorkel, or surf

the house although not new is a great place for a family gathering.

it is a short drive to Shark Cove and more snorkeling

the town of Haleiwa provides all you need for shopping or browsing

The house was very clean but not fancy, no need to worry about any pretty (and breakable) deco items that little kids are attracted to. The view is GREAT, turtles are amazing, and nothing beats morning coffee on the deck watching the sun rise except maybe a relaxing drink at the end of the day watching the sun set while on the same balcony. The house is right on the shore line but rocky out front with interesting tide pools and always turtles relaxing in the sun 40 yards away. The sandy beach in the pic is an easy 3 minute walk down the road. The outdoor shower works well to keep the sandy beach out of the house; the kitchen has the minimum utensils/appliances, but we are not there to cook gourmet meals. The one issue we had with the house was dealt with to our satisfaction; the management company was prompt in responding and taking care of the issue. We would rent here again, who needs the traffic of Honolulu / Waikiki? We have that at home.

You Can't Go Wrong With This House!!

  • 5 of 5

This listing does not even begin to do this location justice. View from the lanai is just stunning. One of the bests parts of each day is sipping coffee and watching the sun rise and then watching the sun set with a cold glass of wine. Just tot he right of the house is Chun's Reef, a surfing hot spot. You can watch surfers and paddle boarders from dawn to dusk

As several reviewers have said, this is a turtle mecca! Climb down the rock hill behind the house and to the left and you will find a small cove just crawling with sea turtles (for those who don't know - Hawaii has very strict laws regarding their turtles - you must remain 6+ feet away from them. Be respectful of these giant beautiful creatures!)

Swimming is not a good idea from the house as the area is very rocky and the surf could be a little rough. There is however an excellent swimming beach just a 2 minute walk down the street.

Met several of the neighbors during our week here and they were all really nice.

Now for the house. Super clean. Our upstairs neighbors left a few days before we did and we saw the housekeeper carrying a load of bedspreads downstairs to the laundry for cleaning. The biggest "ick" factor for most travelers are the bedspreads, but it appears this place actually washes them along with the sheets between each tenant. Big PLUS. Master bedroom gets tons of air circulation and the smaller rooms are pretty breezy. Portable fans are provided for those needing extra breeze. 2 charcoal grills are provided (burgers and hot dogs just taste so much better when grilled in Hawaii while looking at the ocean) and kitchen is well stocked (no blender tho - rough it by pouring your pina coladas directly over ice cubes)

Now for the sites. Waimea Falls Park is close by - beautiful flora and fauna and swimming is allowed at the waterfall, providing conditions are safe for swimming - call ahead to make sure. It's a little humid in the valley so the addition of the golf cart a few years ago is a huge plus. They also have a farmer's market on Thurs afternoon. Veggies, fruits, jellies, soaps, etc. Bring cash as all vendors do not accept cards. Shark's Cove has excellent snorkeling with lots and lots of fish. Invest in an underwater digital camera and a pair of reef walkers. Turtle Bay is a great place for lunch and snorkeling. They allow non guests on the beach but will not rent you a chaise and umbrella. Giovanni's shrimp truck in Kahuku - BEST DARN GARLIC SHRIMP EVER!

We cannot say enough wonderful things about this property! It was the prefect vacation for our family. There was 16 of us. It was the prefect setting for our family, enough room, the beach at the backyard, turtles down the beach, close to everything and anything we wanted to do. Thank you so much for a memorable time!

Why Kelley chose Haleiwa

We chose this home because the beauty, setting, and views were unbelievable. The oceanfront location with great snorkeling and surfing in the 'front yard' was a plus. We also figured our children would enjoy the tide pools in the front.

We liked the Chuns area as it was north of Haleiwa town by 2 miles yet easily accessible. And being more on the southern part of the North Shore meant a little better weather, less traffic, and easier access to town and the airport.

We looked at 62 properties and bought this one.

After all of these years, we're still in awe when we visit. We think that's special given the fact that we are coming from Del Mar, CA.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Hi Marilyn,

I just returned from Oahu last night and couldn't wait to shoot you an email letting you know what an amazing time we had! Your home is FABULOUS! The view was fantastic...I could have been very content just sitting there on the balcony watching the surfers, waves, rainbows, etc. With that said we did take the time to explore the island and we were always very happy to return home to your wonderful place at the end of the day! Such a treasure...I can't wait to get back to the North Shore!
