Very cozy cabin off the beaten path. A little far from Mammoth if you can’t use the ferry but we don’t mind driving as we find hidden gems along the way. Bed was comfortable and the cabin had everything we needed. Communication with the property owner was fast and helpful. Will stay again if we return next year.

Everything was as described. The cabin was cozy, clean, and the hot tub was amazing. Our only minor discomfort was the shower. It is very small which makes showering a bit interesting! We very much enjoyed our stay though and would definitely return here if we came back to the area.

Such a cute little cabin we stayed in while visiting mammoth cave, the hot tub was so nice and the host was so nice and friendly as well, very responsive and kind, it was very relaxing, will definitely stay again!

Perfect, cozy spot for a few days getaway. About 45 minutes to the mammoth cave tours, but a nice drive. Host was very communicative. We had no issues arise but if we had, I know they would have been rectified quickly. Hot tub on the back porch was private and relaxing. Hot water in the shower, comfy bed, working kitchen.

I’ve been welcoming guests to Hickory Cabins for many years and enjoy sharing this part of Kentucky with people visiting the Mammoth Cave area. I’m usually nearby and available if guests need help, but I also believe a cabin getaway should give you the space to relax and enjoy your stay.

I enjoy working on the property, disc golf, technology and, more recently, astrophotography. On a clear night you may even find me outside with a telescope photographing galaxies and nebulae from our dark Kentucky skies.

My goal is pretty simple: provide a clean, comfortable place to stay and help guests have a great experience while they’re here.

This property has been in my wife’s family for many years, so we didn’t simply choose the area as a place to build vacation cabins. We already had a connection to this land and this part of Kentucky.

Over the years, we’ve been able to share what makes the property special with our guests—the woods, hills, wildlife and peaceful setting, along with everything the Mammoth Cave area has to offer.

Today, guests can stay on the family property while exploring Mammoth Cave National Park, Nolin Lake and the surrounding area, play our Wolf Knob Disc Golf Course, or simply enjoy the quiet of the woods and the dark night sky.

Hickory Cabins is more than simply a place to sleep while visiting Mammoth Cave.

Our three cabins are surrounded by 86 wooded acres, and guests have access to Wolf Knob Disc Golf Course, an 18-hole championship course designed by John Houck. It’s a destination in its own right for disc golfers, but you don’t have to play disc golf to enjoy the property.

After dark, there’s another experience overhead. Mammoth Cave National Park is an International Dark Sky Park, and our location offers wonderful opportunities for stargazing. Guests can even rent our Seestar S30 Pro smart telescope, which I set up for them, and try capturing galaxies, nebulae and other objects during their stay.

It’s a combination that’s difficult to find elsewhere: a cabin in the Kentucky woods, Mammoth Cave nearby, championship disc golf outside your door, and dark skies overhead.
