The seclusion and tranquility of Thorndyke Lodge are the perfect remedy to the pandemonium of the city on the 4th of July. The property is perfect. Lots for kids to explore, and lots of yard for games. We so appreciated the "Waltons" dining table and the large mud room for all of our things and activities. The beds were clean and comfy, the bathrooms clean, and the kitchen well stocked. We are already planning next year!
The host was welcoming and they were very proactive about sending instructions ahead of time, making check-in and check-out that much easier! The home was lovely - tidy and clean upon arrival, and the beds were comfortable. The home had everything we needed to relax and unwind - it was a great experience! Would highly recommend this home to others :)
The amenities were in great condition. The host was incredibly communicative and proactive about giving us check-in and check-out information ahead of time, as well as other helpful tips and information regarding the home and the surrounding area.
Again, our Family Vacation at Thorndyke Lodge was outstanding! House was great, Weather was great and our Family played games inside and out and had a wonderful experience.
I only gave the place a 5 star because thats as high as the rating system went. Very beautiful location. The house was very clean and had everything we needed. Will most definitely will stay there again in the future.
We had a great time staying out at this location. The cabin was cozy and well stocked. The vibes and surrounding nature was such a great treat. Would recommend.
We've come to this property for years. It is the right size for our group of friends. We enjoy the remoteness of it and appreciate the simplicity of the lodging while at the same time having what we need to accommodate all of us regarding bathrooms, kitchen facilities and living space.
We had a family gathering with our children and grandchildren-10 total. Low tides opened up the beach and mud flats for exploration, which was fantastic. Our kids’ main complaint was how remote the property is from any towns with retail, activities and services. It is about 45 minutes from anything. I personally enjoyed that aspect. But if you want to buy groceries or dine out, it’s a long drive, especially with young children. The property does have a lot of board games, but nothing for outdoor play. Since you’re pretty confined to on site entertainment, it would be good for the owners to add some things like cornhole, horseshoes, bocce ball, and some beach play buckets and tools. My kids also commented that the manufactured home construction didn’t seem to block sound transmission as well as standard construction. Again, it wasn’t an issue for me. But my hearing at 73 isn’t what it used to be!
