We are so sorry you had a less than perfect stay. However, most of your issues were due to circumstances out of our control. Unfortunately, due to the rain and lightening storms the first week of your stay a cable line was struck by lightening on our street causing the cable to go out and blow one of our new, flat screen tv’s. We immediately ordered a new tv, had it hooked up AND got the cable restored within 24 hours. We installed a new environmental friendly septic system less than 2 years ago and it was in perfect working order prior to this rental. The only explanation our plumber gave for the septic backup was due to a stoppage from inside the house (ie: a foreign object flushed down the toilet). Our plumber and caretaker resolved the issue on a Friday evening within 6 hours of the renter’s call. We also provided the renter with a 350 gallon tank of propane and expressly told them the hot tub could run at 100 degrees but that the pool should not be set higher than 85 degrees. The pool company reported that the pool temperature was set to over 100 degrees for multiple days thus depleting an exorbitant amount of propane. The cleanliness issue was due to the bbq grill not being cleaned before renter’s arrival. We had a short window between renters and that was our oversight. To express our apology, we gave the renter a $250 gift card to a local restaurant and offered to have a cleaning service come by to clean the grill, which they declined. As we told the renter prior to their arrival, we have new sliding doors on order and will install as soon as they are delivered. Again, we are sorry you didn’t thoroughly enjoy your stay but hope you’ll agree the issues were out of our control.
