We met on a chairlift on Aspen Mountain in 1974. We live in Colorado, and so come up often, skiing and snowshoeing in the winter, hiking, riding our tandem bike (the adjoining picture of us with our tandem is an early fall ride to Snowmass), enjoying the music festival in the summer and relaxing by the pool complex at our place. A designer remodel was completed with the goal of making our unit casual, comfortable and inviting. After an active day we often times grill on the barbecue on our deck, a wonderful place from which to toast the sunset and appreciate what a wonderful place Aspen is year 'round.
James purchased this Condo in 1986
Why James chose Aspen
We had owned another condominium about a block away from this one since 1972. It did not have the open sunny feel we now enjoy, nor did it have the spectacular views that we always coveted in this Chateau Roaring Fork unit. When this high ceilinged, south facing unit, with 270 degree views including both the Roaring Fork river and Aspen mountain came available in 1986 we jumped on it. We knew that its sunny exposure with all day sun, and high ceilings made it very special. We were right.
What makes this Condo unique
Now that we have been renting the condo ourselves for the past several years we have come to appreciate from our guests feedback, that they love the same things about our condo that we do. The bright open feel of the condo, with it's unobstructed view of Aspen mountain, the convenient location to walk everywhere, the wonderful housekeeping services provided by Abi, and how comfortable our unit is. And,they've pointed out to us what a better, more comfortable experience condo represents compared to other similarly priced condominiums they've stayed at in Aspen.

Excellent! Every little detail :)
We loved our stay here! The property was great, the location was unbeatable, and James was excellent with communication. I hope to return next year :)
Great place to stay in Aspen
Perfect condo for ski trip - walking distance to lifts / bus stop / town. Great views of the mountain, easy check-in and check-out, and very helpful host. Would highly recommend for trip to Aspen
As good as it gets for Aspen skiing and dining
This unit is a 2 block walk the the mountains and all of the best downtown restaurants, a liquor store, and grocery store. It is exceptionally well appointed and clean with daily room service that comes as well. We spoke to the land lord ahead of time and he confirmed that the unit included washer dryer, hair dryers, towels, full kitchen, and grill which allowed us to pack light.
Warm welcoming home base for our Aspen adventure
Enjoyed our time in Aspen in Chateau Roaring Fork. Our "concierge," James Barash was accommodating and helpful throughout our five day jaunt. We had a couple of small mechanical issues re: the dryer and a leak in one of the bathrooms (caused by folks shoveling the roof above us -- so much snow!!!), but James was immediately responsive and helped make our stay a delight.
Great spot to stay in Aspen. The condo was very comfortable, well set up, and such a great location. Being 3 blocks to the gondola could not have been easier for hitting the slopes. Thanks James, will certainly hit you up again when back in the area again.
Comfortable, quiet and convenient condo
Three adults enjoyed this three bed, 2 bath condo over the course of a week. I picked it because of a) location - walking distance to Aspen mountain and town center, b) location - top floor, corner unit, and c) set-up - ability to offer king-sized beds in all bedrooms. It met my criteria. Our host, James, was available to answer questions and offer suggestions. Daily housekeeping spoiled us. The only [minor] negative of the condo is that the galley-style kitchen is very small and since we tend to cook, things got a little tight. Also, there is no standard oven though there is a combined microwave/convection oven over cooktop and a toaster oven. Furnishings and finishes were comfortable but not luxurious if that's what you are expecting. The unit is nicely decorated with art, which makes it feel homey. The master bed is a tempurpedic-type mattress, which some people love and some people hate. I could see the condo handling four guests with ease. More than four and I think people would be tripping over one another not to mention fighting for the bathroom.
