Come experience a step back in time in this charming 1850 historic end townhouse just 1 block to King Street and 4 blocks to the Potomac River. The spacious living room with comfortable seating can accommodate 6-8 and leads to a fully-equipped kitchen with eating space for 2. The dining room which seats 6 opens to a hallway leading to the enclosed rear patio. The main level powder room and laundry are off the hallway. Upstairs find a large primary bedroom with ensuite full bath with shower and a smaller second bedroom, also with an ensuite bath with shower. A special spot with sofa, comfy chair and TV is adjacent to the master bedroom. The patio has plenty of comfortable seating for alfresco dining. and a beautiful weeping cherry. blooms in the Spring. The area is perfect with a "Walker's Paradise" score of 96. It is located in the middle of Old Town Alexandria, with it's charming streets, homes, shops and restaurants and is home to very hospitable residents.. You will be 1.5 blocks from the Town Center and the Farmers Market, 4 blocks to the Torpedo Factory and within walking distance of many fine restaurants, shops and parks. The Metro is .7 mile (a 20 -minute walk); however, there is a free trolley that travels on King street from the water-front to the King Street Metro. History abounds here! Fabulous place in a great location

Spent the weekend with my sisters. Perfect location- just off the main area so quiet at night but so easy to walk around during the day and evenings. Host is so so so nice and communicative. House has very comfortable beds, lovely back patio and little sitting areas for all of us to have our own space.

Historical Chalet in the heart of Old Town

We so enjoyed our lil getaway with our mothers! The home is quaint and comfy and close to all things Old Town. You can hop on and off the Old Town Trolley a block away and it will take you directly to the Metro. Tons of shopping, restaurants surround the home within walking distance if desired. Host was very generous with welcome treats and coffee and very accommodating to our special circumstances. Would absolutely stay here again if in the area.

New Years Celebration

We loved our stay at this house. It is perfectly located near all of the shops, restaurants, and market square on King Street, but just far enough that you do not have to hear the late night chaos on King Street if you have an early bed time. The hosts were great to work with, very nice, and take pride in their home. The house was immaculate, beds very comfortable, and plenty of room for two couple or a small family to spread out. We loved our stay and will come certainly come back.

This townhouse was exactly as advertised and was very comfortable for two couples! Location could not be better, we enjoyed everything about it. It was the perfect base for our sightseeing trip to DC. walking distance to shops restaurants and grocery stores was a plus.

Exactly what we wanted

The house was exactly as described. We had a great time being together with family, as we had traveled long distances. The beds were comfortable and we could adjust the temperature as needed. We used the kitchen mostly for breakfast and found everything we needed, including Keurig pods. It was nice to be in such a central location. Communication was great. We will stay here again.

Wonderful Old Town location

We are a group of friends who stayed here for 11 days. It is a beautiful historic row house in Old Town Alexandria very close to King Street. We were convenient to the bus and the Metro. The kitchen was well equiped, the rooms were comfortable A/C was available. The bedrooms were good and the bathrooms nice. We walked a lot and the location was perfect for us. Would come again.

PERFECT Location

Mothers Day getaway with my adult daughters was wonderful. This historic home was just charming and cozy. From the family room to the patio backyard, it was all very comfortable. EVERYTHING was within walking distance…great restaurants, shopping, waterfront, Torpedo Factory, Escape Quest, live entertainment…and we did it ALL! The smaller bathroom is a little tight but they thought to add a desk and light in the bedroom to be used as make up area so still great for adults. I will be back with my husband!!

Perfect location, everything we needed was there, including basic supplies. Outdoor patio cozy and comfortable. (Just a heads up…the double doors in the large bedroom have a loose hinge (on the right, entering the room. Makes it challenging to close doors easily. Just needs a screw driver fix.

Hands down our favorite!

We lived in DC 20 years ago and have come back with our kids every year since. We always like to mix it up and stay in different areas….until now. I’m always the one researching homes and hotels - counting stars and reading reviews. This historical home caught my eye. I can’t tell you how many times we’ve walked up and down the streets of Alexandria saying, “wouldn’t it be cool to live in one of these houses?” So we were thrilled to finally have an opportunity to at least pretend! This rental is in an amazing location (near literally everything). We stayed up late one night, hanging out on the gorgeous private patio sipping wine and talking about the history of the house and its original owner. We dined at some spectacular restaurants and cruised the river, but our favorite night was just hanging out on the patio on a warm summer night under the twinkling lights. The house is clean, has everything you need (and then some), comfy beds, and the owner is on top of every correspondence. We will definitely be coming back!

great historic home in a fantastic location. The host was wonderful to work with. The only addition I would make is TV access to local news and sports. We brought a small digital antenna and were able to watch local stations. Being originally from Alexandria I was able to see the Commander's game and keep up with what was going on in the news. great for local restaurants and shops.

Very nice historic townhouse. We spent a bunch of time sitting in the back garden. Excellent location very close to King St. and all the restaurants/shops there. We were worried that we would have problems parking but always found a spot within a half block of the house.

Spring Retreat

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this lovely appointed Old Town Alexandria townhouse. Its location was perfect for walking downtown to the waterfront, stores and restaurants and just a short Uber ride into DC. Genevieve was very helpful. We would love to stay here again one day!

Birthday Weekend

I chose this house because it is located around the corner from a beloved apartment that I lived in years ago. Old Town will always feel like home to me and I enjoyed spending a milestone birthday sharing those memories with my family. This lovely little gem is a historic home so it has some quirks like narrow stairs, creaks, and rattles, but that adds to its charm. The location is unbeatable for everything - shopping, restaurants, metro, waterfront, people-watching. It's street parking but it's not an issue because a parking pass is provided as needed. We found a spot right in front and didn't get back into our car until we left. It's nicely maintained, very clean, and super cozy. It was a little tight in terms of sleeping arrangements for 2 adults and 2 teens, but we made do and everyone was very comfortable. The owners were responsive, generous, and kind. We couldn't speak more highly of them, the house, or our stay. Thank you for sharing your lovely home with us! We hope to enjoy it again in the near future.
