Quaint Farmhouse in the middle of your outdoor fun

The Mosquito Brook GetAway came to be when a local property owner who didn't want to see his land succumb to the development that working its way through the area decided to sell. The property was bought with the intent to continue to farm 9 of the 11 acres behind the house and barn as a way to preserve the legacy of the original land owners.

The house had "good bones" as they say, and it just needed a little bit of a cosmetic tune-up to improve the flow of the house. Countless hours were spend sanding the original hardwood floors, and installing tile floors. Most of the work was done by the owner, as help was hard to find during the renovation period. The kitchen area was a complete do-over with new cabinets and appliances throughout. The work flow is perfect with everything you need to prepare a meal within easy reach.

During the renovation, I came to appreciate the location much more than I thought that I would. Mosquito Brook Rd is a favorite route for the local outdoor crowd. Bicyclist, runners, roller skiers, atv'ers and others passing right by. Most of them never even notice you enjoying your morning coffee on the porch. Those that do are likely to wave as they go by.

The biking, skiing, hiking, and ATV/snowmobile trails are all within 1/2 mile on the Mosquito Brook Rd. Realistically, you can't do much better than that.

The best reason to stay at the Mosquito Brook Getaway is that you get to enjoy a 1,300 sq ft home situated right at the gateway to the playground of Wisconsin. Whether you enjoy motor sports, or the silent sports, you are right in the middle of where the cool kids play.

For some people, they are returning to the area to spend time with family and friends. The large open concept kitchen, dining and living room all everyone to be in on the conversation while relaxing.

If you prefer to hang out outside, the barn hosts a grill and a picnic table, with a firepit just beyond.

Skiers have enjoyed the provided ski profile for waxing their skis before their big event. And bicyclists have enjoyed storing their bikes in the basement out of the elements. A bike stand is provided to perform minor repair and maintenance work.
