About Tim and Jane

My wife and I bought the property in 2000 and built the cabin in 2005.

We enjoy spending time here with our 6 children.

Tim and Jane purchased this chalet in 2005

Why Tim and Jane chose Lake Pepin

We love Pepin! The people are friendly, the scenery is awesome, and we are always reluctant to leave.

Work from home? Why not make this your home for a week? We have high bandwidth DSL WiFi to make work from a quiet , remote location easy and relaxing.

What makes this chalet unique

The quiet and peacefulness reign. Seeing eagles is definitely more common than not seeing an eagle, especially Oct - Apr. During the these months the quiet calms frazzled nerves and there is nothing like a fire in the fireplace throughout the weekend.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Posted with guest permission for stay on Dec 22-25:

We'll definitely be booking again with you in the future. We did see several eagles and took some walks on the beach. I don't think any of the restaurants were open during our stay due to Sunday and the holidays, but we wanted to stay in and cook anyway. Your place was well stocked with everything we needed to make all of our meals and really enjoy ourselves. It was exactly what we were hoping for, and the drive up there along the river was lovely. More than anything, we appreciated being able to bring our dog. I think she enjoyed roaming the beach even more than we did.

Great vacation spot!

  • 5 of 5

My wife & I and our two dogs spent a relaxing 9 days here. The interior of the cabin is both beautiful and comfortable, and the large deck offers a great place to relax while enjoying a view of the Mississippi River. Pepin itself has several nice & convenient restaurants, and Stockholm 5 minutes up the road has as good a pie store as you can find anywhere. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay!

Best Suited for a Couple

  • 3 of 5

We did enjoy our stay but the loft is a steep climb and the beds are small and not very comfortable. I ended up buying an air mattress for my teen to sleep on in the living room as the futon was not very comfortable either. We also expected the house was a little more secluded based on photos, but neighbors are close. Second bathroom is off the garage so not very convenient but it was clean. I think this is the perfect place for a couple to stay. Owners were very kind and provided lots of information about the area and clear directions in the use of the property.

Pepin Perfection!

  • 5 of 5

We've been coming to Pepin for years, but always day trips. We decided to stay for a long weekend and selected the Eagles Nest. We've been able to travel lots and tried other VRBO rentals. The Eagles Nest was perfect.

Pros:

1. Location- you're close enough to the marina and restaurants & winery you can walk, but you're far enough away you have a quite cozy neighborhood. Also proximity to railroad worried us. This home is located far enough away you barely notice it.

2. Pet friendly. The yard was so nice for the pups. Even better was the deck as we could all hang together out there leash free.,

3. The space. This home is set up and utilized so well! It had lots of room if you had more to you party, yet was cozy enough you could spend time with one another. It's decorated so darling too. Very Midwestern. Also, it's stocked with anything you could need to cook. (Eat at Harbor View Cafe though-SO GOOD!)

4. The owners were so accommodating and helpful. Made our stay top notch and very enjoyable.

5. Now I regret my review. I should have said it was awful so it's not booked all the time. It's really a gem I'd like to keep to myself! Thanks for the wonderful time. We will absolutely be back.

Great retreat!

  • 4 of 5

Well appointed, clean and comfy cabin. Location is excellent to do nothing or be outdoors enjoying the water and sites. Deck lounging very nice but swing and eating area can use some TLC. Owner was very nice and responsive. I highly recommend the house.
