We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The home has so much authentic character, it feels like stepping back into Edmonton’s early history, complete with the charm of an older, creaky house. It was exceptionally well equipped with everything we needed, and the location was fantastic. Being only about a 20-minute walk from the Legislature made it the perfect place to stay during the Canada Day celebrations. The only small suggestion for improvement would be a little more attention to the yard. The front garden was quite overgrown, and there were weeds in the backyard. Normally this wouldn’t have mattered, but with all the recent rain it did contribute to more mosquitoes. A little bug spray solved the problem, so it certainly didn’t detract from our overall experience. Overall, we had an excellent stay and would happily recommend this property to anyone looking for a comfortable, character-filled home in a great location.

The property was clean. We found the home to be charming. We loved that everything but our clothes was provided by the owners. The only complaint we had with the property was the stove not working properly. One of the main burners was out, and as someone who does all cooking in home when staying places, this made making meals difficult.

Pet friendly with a yard . Lots of stairs which was in the listing so be aware of that when booking . Cute house with nice decor , outdoor use more comfortable living room furniture but the chairs on the front porch were a nice touch. We sat out front the one day to have our coffee and sit with our pup. Could close the gate at the top of the stairs to keep her on the porch. Would be lovely in warmer weather! Although Edmonton had a wind storm with some areas loosing power and home damage this place did ok . It is close to river trails but we did not explore as many areas still had a lot of ice from recent melt/freeze cycle .

Lovely little character home, which could probably use a little TLC to the grounds outside and some touch ups inside but we enjoyed our stay nonetheless. As is mentioned in the posting, the stairs to get up to the place aren’t made for everyone. However, if needed there is a small parking space at the back of the home and access for those who have difficulty navigating stairs. We wish we had realized this before we packed all our things up the stairs through the front door! The little front addition with table and large windows facing the east was just the perfect little space to enjoy dinner with friends and also let in the most beautiful light in the morning. The front deck was a beauty spot for morning coffee and evening chill. We were thankful for the A/C though it was still difficult to get reprieve from the heat upstairs at night despite only being in the mid to high 20s. Having only one bathroom was one of the only other downsides for our group. One last FYI, the bed in the secondary bedroom is a trundle bed (I.e. a small bed that pulls out from underneath the bed that exists in the room) so the two sleepers are essentially in their own bed. I’d recommend this stay to anyone looking for relatively quick and easy access to the river valley, Jasper Ave, commonwealth stadium, Roger’s Place. Place was as described and had everything we needed for our just short of a week stay.

We have lived in this area for a number of years so it was good to be back.I am able to walk to work.Our dog was introduced to Dawson park where our three previous dogs had run.The house is comfortable except the mattresses need updating.Both of us were finding the mattresses uncomfortable.Despite 30 degree heat we were able to keep the house even the upstairs relatively cool.There are stairs to get to the house which may be a problem for anyone with mobility issues.The kitchen was well equipped.

I understand that property is old and is important to keep the essence of that, but instead looks like abandone, furniture are good and look like the photos but the floor and the bathroom looks kind of dirty, kitchen is not full equipped, there is a different between a place look old and classic and a place looks kind of dirty, the location it is convenient, and the host is always diligent, I being in other properties from the same host and are amazing but this one I am not impress, also I do not recommend for coming with kids, the access to the basement where is the laundry area is not that safe, is all kind of cleaning supplies and things there can be danger for kids, general speaking I wasn’t impress taking in consideration the price, my intention was being there longer but for all this I just stay the days I paid because they will not give me a refund and immediately find another place for the rest to our days.
