A cozy stone home with an artistic flair, Geode Cottage is in a neighborhood 1.2 miles from the interstate and 2 miles from downtown Hendersonville. With two bedrooms and a sofa bed, the cottage invites parties of up to 6 people and pets ($30/pet). Fifteen minutes from the Asheville Airport, half an hour from Asheville, the Pisgah National Forest, and the Blue Ridge Parkway, this location allows quick access to some of the best gems in WNC.

Geode Cottage has parking for several cars, a well equipped laundry nook, a fully stocked kitchen, and a dining table. The living room boasts a flat screen TV with access to Netflix, Hulu, and Amazon Prime. The master bedroom is spacious and has an allocated reading nook with a comfy velvet couch. The additional bedroom hosts the second TV with streaming services. Both bedrooms have highly reviewed Tuft and Needle mattresses. The bathroom has a jacuzzi tub and walk in shower that await you after an active day of outdoor adventures, shopping, or brewery/foodie-hopping. There is also an enclosed privacy fence for you or your dogs to enjoy the backyard without the bother of seeing other neighbors. There is a designated fire pit with chairs for your outdoor enjoyment; please be safe!

There is no sidewalk or street parking, but there is ample parking in the driveway for several vehicles. The road is 50 ft in front of the house. It offers quick access to downtown and therefore is used frequently, so there is noise from cars.

We do like to let guests know that our driveway is around a blind curve, so be careful pulling out of the property. There is, however, a bubble mirror across the street that allows guests to see around the curve for oncoming traffic.

Flat rock park and jackson park are less than five minutes away and have many trails. Flat rock park has playgrounds and Jackson park has a great fenced in dog-play area.

If you're interested in bringing a pet, the fee is $30 per pet per 5 days.

Our guest fee after four people is $25/person/night.

We don’t accept any animals that live outdoors, as we like to preserve the wildlife and ecosystem surrounding the property.

The pictures do Not do this Beautiful home justice! It was so much more impressive than we expected! The house is comfortable, easy to deal with internet and TV ( which is not always the case in the mountains). We wanted to stay an extra day because this place was located so close to Ashville as well as a bunch of other attractions we wanted to enjoy( The Gorge Zipline- 11 minutes away) and Katherine made it seamless! Thank-you Katherine for a relaxing and calm space to end our vacation!

This is a great place to stay if you have pets - they have fenced the entire back yard with a privacy fence and lots of room. House is great with plenty of room.

Wonderful weekend with our grandkids. House was very clean and comfortable with tons of charm. Host was very accommodating and communication was excellent. Very large fenced back yard- perfect for our pups. Looking forward to our next stay at the Geode Cabin!

I was not writing a review about my negative experience, but the lack of communication at the end made me change my mind. All was great and wonderful until we entered the cottage. The smell of insecticide was very strong. I tried opening the windows, it didn't help.Katherine was gracious to let us cancel and refund the money. It was my oversight to not see her message that I needed to cancel in order to get the money back.Two things bothered me about our communication: 1. She told me the cleaners went to the cottage and they said it did not smell like insecticide. Well, I didnt lie… we ended up going to a hotel, got two rooms and paid twice of what the cottage cost us … mom is 94 and has bad allergies, so we decided to pay more at the hotel. I would have taken the time as host to check the cottage personally for my customer - especially if I claim to use nothing chemical or toxic ss she did.2. When I explained that I had been busy with family and had not read her message about having to cancel in the app to get the refund, I assumed responsibility for not reading the message on time and cancelling, but I further asked if the door to a refund had closed. No response. If her answer was no, I would have accepted it and not written a review. It has been almost a month and it really bothers me that she did not take the time to just plain acknowledge and answer. That is all.

Hello Doris, We did personally check it upon cleaning. My husband did not smell anything and we had other guests check in and not mention a smell; I assume it was something happening outside of the house that was causing a smell indoors, as I never said that you lied, I just don't know what would have caused an issue on your check in day. I apologize for your experience. I reached out twice to confirm for a refund and did not hear back from you during the refund period. I am sorry you had such a negative experience.

Nice cottage

Comfortable cottage close to Hendersonville. Nice amenities, well stocked kitchen. Fenced in backyard would have been nicer if grass was cut.

Cozy home away from home

Close to town. Our dogs absolutely loved the yard. The electric fireplace gave a wonderful ambiance. The bundle of wood was such a nice surprise for the fire pit.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Geode Cottage! The home was spacious and had everything we needed. The fenced-in back yard was also excellent for our 3 dogs! I will also add that the host was very accommodating, answering our questions and providing recommendations for hikes and places to visit in the area. It can also be very challenging to find a place that will accept 3 dogs of any size and breed, so we appreciate the hosts being so accommodating! I would highly recommend this cottage for anyone traveling with a small family or with their pets! Thank you :)

Great location/Cozy and Welcoming

Nicely remodeled. Comfortable beds. Great backyard with tall fence so as to not to see “junkyard” next door. Very convenient location to Flat Rock Playhouse and downtown Hendersonville. Very clean with everything you need, however, small flies throughout the house. Mostly near bathroom. Would stay again!

Very Noisy toad

Very close to heavy traffic road. Very loud and another road across the street where stop sign is has cars lights shining in house all night. Would never stay here…we actually left the first night because of noise and lights. We could not sleep. Host was very prompt in responses but did not offer any refund for the not so “whimsical” stay in the not so good part about of town. There is a junkyard next door.

Hello Matthew, Our property description states that there is a frequently trafficked road in front of the house. You all left at 7:30pm, traffic at this time, during a holiday, is high. We do have thick blinds on the windows to avoid light into the house from cars. Our neighbor, whose property does look like a junkyard, is fully blocked by a fence. He is a veteran who collects cars and now he is older. The neighborhood is very safe; there is a high school less than half a mile away and most neighbors are families. I am sorry you had a poor stay and hope that in the future you read property descriptions thoroughly. To future guests, we have never had another guest leave early due to traffic noise and hope this review doesn't deter you from staying with us.
