About this property
Gold Coast, 6 Houses to the Beach
Welcome to Ocean City NJ. We are located only 6 houses from the beach, on 27th block of Asbury. We make every effort to keep our condo in immaculate condition to provide you and your family with the comforts of home. Have a wonderful vacation!
Friendly dining and ice cream at Kessel's Korner is a 2 minute walk and Dot's Pastry Shop a 10 minute walk. Also within walking distance is the 29th and West playground. The boardwalk starts 4 blocks away at 23rd street.
The house was designed with many upgrades which add to its attractiveness. These range from the double entry french doors and many windows that make the condo bright, to a modern kitchen with granite counter tops and beautifully tiled bathrooms. We keep the second floor for our personal use and family.
Ocean City is a great family vacation spot. Our children grew up there. Its' a short walk to the beach. Kessel's -a favorite for ice cream, burgers and basics- is just down the street. Dot's bakery is on Asbury near 30th. We are a few steps up from ground level so it is easy on the knees. The great room has a kitchen, living, dining area with entertainment console. The 9 foot ceilings in the great room create spacious feeling. Every room has a ceiling fan to aid the sea breeze circulate when the windows are open. There are lots of windows and sliding doors to capture the ocean breeze ( we do ask that the windows be closed when running the AC, thank you). The condo has double entry French doors to the first floor porch leading to steps to the sidewalk. The floors are polished red oak in great room and hallway. The bed rooms are carpeted. The kitchen is Shaker style in maple with stunning Siena Bordeaux granite counter tops. The G.E. Profile stainless steel refrigerator has french doors with freezer on bottom. The fridge has a filtered cold water dispenser. After your day at the beach, you can rinse off in your own cabana on the side of the building.
We have a full size front loading washer and dryer in the condo. Additional closet space is available in the hallway. The garage is included in the rent. You have direct access from the garage to the staircase that leads to your condo.
The rear deck faces the morning sun and is shaded by the second floor deck as sun sets over Asbury Avenue. We have an unusually large rear deck for new construction which is 10 feet by 20 feet. (We went to the zoning board etc)
The master rear bedroom has a 'bump out' with windows and a sliding door to the rear deck. The master bathroom is terra cotta tiled with sea mist glass accents and carrera marble counter tops. The shower has a Grohe rain shower plus a hand held shower head. The second rear bedroom also has sliding door access to the deck. Both rear bedrooms have queen beds. The third bedroom has two twin beds. The common bath room motif is seaside green glass bubble accents with white tile, carrera vanity countertop and a tub for the kids. Our attention to detail extended to adding extra sound insulation in the walls of the condo.
We can be reached easily by either the 9th street bridge when exiting the first exit for Ocean City from the Garden State Parkway (exit 30) or the second exit for Ocean City (exit 25) via the 34th street bridge.
As our family has over the years, we hope you enjoy Ocean City and have many fond memories! Thank you.

About the host
Hosted by Jackie and David
We are Jackie and David. We live on the second floor of the condo and keep the first floor for our guests. After spending many summer vacations at the shore Jackie got to build her dream house. Jackie loves clean contemporary lines with a splash of color. Her attention to detail is amazing. We have the good fortune that Jackie's brother is an architect who helped supervise our project. He added many details for a quality feel and ambiance resulting in a well finished building. We travel often and but every year is an Ocean City year.
Why they chose this property
Jackie's parents bought the property in the 1980's. We always used it for our summer vacation week where our children enjoyed building sand castles, boogie boarding in the waves, amusements of the boardwalk and creating most precious memories . We had the opportunity to upgrade the property, hence the grand project. We took down the original family house and built the new 2 family building. Jackie goes for an early morning three mile beach walk almost every day, south to Corson's Inlet (beach lovers favorite) or a few blocks north to the start of the Boardwalk and up along the north end of the island. I usually go for a bike ride in the morning. You can go from Ocean City, to Strathmere, Sea Isle, Avalon and then Stone Harbor for a morning ride depending how ambitious you are.
What makes this property unique
One of the unique benefits of our condo is the large back deck. Since we were builder/owners we went to the zoning board for a variance for the deck. It may not seem like much but with the large deck the kids can go out on the deck after a sunny day at the beach, play in the shade, be safe and not wander off. And adults can enjoy the front porch while the kids play.
