About this property

Farm House

A serene get away in a guest house on a real working farm. We homesteaded this property in 2012 and have created our own slice of paradise. We grow produce that we sell to local restaurants and at our farm stand, The Shack. We have Scottish Highlander cows, a shetland pony, goats, ducks, chickens, barn cats and a resident farm dog, Finula. You're welcome to roam the property, sit by the pond, visit with the animals, take a tour of the farm or explore all that Litchfield county has to offer!
The space
We built the guest house in 2012 and lived there for 7 years before we finished building the main house. We love that house!
Guest access
You’re free to roam the farm.

Exceeded All Expectations
Its hard to put into words how amazing this property is, and the pictures can't come close to showing you how beautiful it truly is. From the welcoming farmhand Scooter to show us around the property and letting us meet all the working farm animals, and the hospitality of Bill and Amy. The wood floors and rustic chic are outstanding, along with a prepared wood fire place ready to go and plenty of extra fire wood and kindling for each night of your stay. The covered porches and rocking chairs allowed us to have a relaxing cup of coffee in the morning and a glass of wine at night, while watching it softly rain over the extensive property. The location is close enough to surrounding towns you're only 10 minutes away from New Milford and Washington Depot, with good restaurants - HIGHLY recommend GOODEATS. Don't hesitate to book your stay, you won't regret a second of it. We will be heading back as soon as we can!

About the host

Hosted by Amy Finnegan

Host profile image
We homesteaded these 18 acres in 2013. Bill is carpenter and has built the houses, barn, chapel, farm stand and fencing from the trees we milled. You will see his talent and creativity all around the farm. We love taking care of our animals and being good stewards of our land.

Why they chose this property

Litchfield county is full of farms and hiking - two of our favorite things.

What makes this property unique

Many things but maybe our chapel. We traveled in Iceland and were inspired by the rural farm chapels.
