Enjoy a rare chance at Eagle View Cottage! This unique Lakeview home with unobstructed, mountain views leaving you in awe of natures beauty. This property can comfortably accommodate 6 guests. Private boat dock with 4 kayaks available for your use shared with the house next door which is also our rental house, and/or bring your own boat and/or jet-skies. Immaculate and impeccably designed to the highest standards. Great for all occasions & getaway’s, content creation, photography / film, retreats, a guaranteed priceless stay. Central air, fully equipped kitchen, 2 bedrooms and 1 full bath - it will feel like your own home sweet home! The master suit features a Tempurpedic king size bed. Across from the master is the second bedroom with 2 Tempurpedic bunk beds sleeping 4 guests. The living room offers a sofa and 55 inch smart TV.

There are plenty of in/outdoor games; corn hole, card games and the list goes on at Eagle View!

Across the road but part of our property there are kayaks are at the waters edge for easy use with life vests for all ages infant to adult! Sit back on our dock and experience an oasis of peace and serenity by the lake. The sundeck, which overlooks the lake has a grill and plenty of seating to enjoy the outdoors and soak up the sun and gorgeous sunsets. At night, flip on the outdoor string lights and enjoy the astonishing ambiance. The yard is large and has a fire-pit and Adirondack chairs so you can cozy up and enjoy some s’mores.

Working vacation? No problem! We’ve got you covered with an office desk setup to work from while looking directly out at the water! It is OK to work on vacation, as long as you do it right!

Conveniently located via Route 39 just an hour and twenty minutes from NYC. Driveway can fit multiple vehicle's. Plenty of room if you are towing a boat, jet-skis, quads, or RV's. Boat launch is just .5 miles away! Launch the boat and dock it at the dock in Squantz Pond. Or, you can go down the road a bit to Candlewood Lake where there is also a boat launch. Just remember, Squantz Pond and Candlewood Lake do not connect.

The living rooms 65 inch smart TV is complete with all the apps you need to sign in & watch for your entertainment!

Fully equipped kitchen, wine openers, coffee maker, Keurig, blender, crockpot, belgian waffle maker, toaster, spices, pots, pans, wine, champagne glasses and more.

The center of town in New Fairfield is just down the road. Stop & Shop grocery store, deli’s, liquor store, bars, & restaurants.

This property has a 2nd cottage completely separate from this main house to the right on the same land, the total property in 2.8 acres each having 1.4 acres. Which is also a rental on VRBO, so other guests may be seen or pass through to access the kayaks and/or boat dock that are shared spaces with this home. The dock accommodates 2 boats so there is no problem if the other guest happens to be there at the same time with their boat - but that is an extremely rare occurrence.

The cottage is across the street from the lake. The host was very responsive and helpful. There is a grill, but bring your own propane and there is a fire pit, but bring your own wood. The view from the house is beautiful. Cottage is clean, the bed was big and the bathroom is updated. The stove runs on propane so be sure to see that the tank is full outside before you try to light it. There is parking on site as well.

Everything was wonderful, just a few frustrations but nothing huge. Was planning on using tandem kayaks as advertised because we had small children but they were lost by the previous renters. Also planned on using the pull out couch bed but that was broken and unable to be used. Didn't use the grill because the grate was very rusty and starter button was broken. The steep hill and crossing a main route was a challenge and was hard to tell from the listing post but they were very responsive and kind when this was brought to attention. Despite what was listed above, we had a wonderful time.

We are happy you enjoy the home. We apologize there wasn’t a tandem kayak for your stay unfortunately guests don’t take care of them and they drift down the lake. They are costly and we’re replacing them as soon as possible! We just bought a new one this week as well. We also updated our listing to reflect that we don’t have a pullout bed anymore. We replaced the grill as well. Thank you for the feedback. We definitely appreciate it!

Wonderful view, clean, quiet, and relaxing. The walk down to the water is steep but pretty easy. It might be difficult for elderly people. The house is beautifully renovated inside and remarkably quiet. We had some storms and there's always cars going by, but you can barely hear them inside. We brought our dog and he loved hanging out in the enclosed porch. There isn't an obvious place to go for a longer walk as the road is quite busy and there are neighbors properties on either side. But he got a lot more fresh air than usual hanging out in the yard and the porch.Made a fire and chopped a little wood. Showed the boys how to use an axe for the first time. Found some local hikes. Went kayaking, swimming and fishing. Had a fantastic meal at Icon Sports Bar. The service and food were excellent. Bruno's makes a nice pizza pie. Johnny's Food Center makes great sandwiches.Highly recommended. We will probably be back during a different season when we can bring the dog into the State Park (October 1 to April 1).

This was a quaint little cabin to nestled in the perfect spot. I witnessed the wildlife and deer right next to the porch I was sitting on while it was snowing and looking out over the lake. The tv was very user friendly and the water in the shower got nice and hot. The linens were clean and the blankets were warm and cozy. One of the only downsides were the baseboard heaters were super loud and tapped and knocked all day and night which kept me up almost every night I stayed- a fan to drown out the noise would have been great and to circulate the heat.

Nice house by the lake

We really enjoyed our stay. The house is walking distance from the lake and a good break for anyone trying to escape the bustle of NYC. The house was very clean and we felt safe and comfortable here’s the outdoor fire pit was a very nice touch.

An Amazing Cottage

My family and I stayed here for a few days while skiing at Thunder Ridge. Would definitely come back in the spring or summer to enjoy kayaking on the pond and hiking along local trails. Highly recommend this cottage.

The house was exactly as listed. The interior has been updated, creating a clean, cozy look and feel. The kitchen was well stocked and everything was clean. The beds and couch were comfortable! The kitchen had basic necessities, however you may need to reconsider meals if doing some serious chopping/cutting (ex sweet potatoes) d/t knife quality. If you are a fan sleeper add that to your packing list. Overall the stay was amazing with great views and helpful hosts!

Beautiful Property with everything you need!

I was pleasantly surprised! The house looked even better in person than it did in the photos. It is warm and comfortable and they had everything we needed to enjoy our time away. The house was clean and the surrounding property was well maintained. I would love to come back in the spring/summer to enjoy more of the outdoors.

Property was clean and looked exactly as displayed in the photos. Dock for swimming and kayaking is of good size and good condition. Good variety of outdoor places to sit between screened porch and outdoor fire pit plus outdoor and indoor family games to play. Access was easy and everything worked as expected. We enjoyed our stay at the lake house and would definitely go back again and recommend to others. The cottage provided our family with a nice relaxing getaway which was exactly what we were looking for.

Perfect quiet space

We stayed here for work event and the location was perfect. Not too close, not too far away. Its snowed one evening but the driveway was not slippery at all. The house was very clean and kept in order. Plenty of room in the bedrooms and bathroom. The operational fireplace was also an added bonus.

The house was very nice, clean and had everything as explained. I definitely got a workout getting from the house to the dock. That was the only drawback. Even though we spent everyday on the dock or in the pond. Our hosts were available if we needed any thing but they actually have everything you need there.

Great stay to be so close to the lake. Provided plenty of lake accessories so you would need to pack minimal equipment. The pictures are a little deceiving as you are on top of a steep hill with Route 39 (which is busy) between the house and dock. We brought our dogs who are well behaved and stay pretty close. I would be concerned if my dog did not have good recall or young children. However, being situated on top of the hill provides a nice view!

Enjoyable Stay

We took a last minute trip to end the summer. House was very clean - small cottage but functional. The house is across the street from the waterfront. Canoes and dock were enjoyed by all. They are shared with the neighboring property, but there were plenty of canoes, paddles, life preservers, etc. Owners were very respondent. Recommended.

A beautiful place and a beautiful setting. We would definitely stay again. A couple things you should be aware of though. If you have mobility issues or maybe are just really out of shape you will struggle getting the kayaks and lounge chairs down the steep driveway across the road and down the steep steps to the dock. Getting them down isn’t too bad but getting them back up to the house takes some real effort. Would be nice if the kayaks could just be left down near the dock. There’s a nice fire pit with chairs but they don’t supply any wood. Not sure why. Seems like they could provide enough for at least one evening fire. Also, there’s a gas grill but no gas. You need to supply your own propane. Definitely a first for me at a VRBO. Also, there’s a K-cup coffee machine but they don’t supply any k-cups. Again, would be a simple and inexpensive touch to supply a bunch. Also, there’s a cool theater style popcorn maker but they don’t supply any popcorn and oil. Again, a simple and inexpensive thing they could provide.These things won’t keep us from staying again but they are simple improvements that would take them to the next level of VRBO hosts.

Thank you for staying with us! we appreciate the feedback. The kayaks cant be left by the dock (they used to be) because guests don't secure them and they end up in the water and down the lake, that's how we've lost many unfortunetly.

Bathroom

Main and only complaint was that had to keep playing with the handle of the toilet every time flushed or it would keep running. Very annoying. And just felt food items. ( pancake mix ect) should be tossed. Safety and health purposes . Otherwise very enjoyable. Stay
