About the property

Ranch house, 3 Bedrooms, 2 Baths, (Sleeps 6-8)

Peaceful country setting on the Olivas de Oro olive orchard with neighboring vineyards and wine tasting. Rancho Olivas de Oro is a working olive ranch with 160 acres of century old olive trees. We also raise Katahdin sheep to graze on the grass and prune the lower branches on the olive trees. Lambs are born April through August.

Enjoy the peace and quiet of the country with the benefits of being close to other activities. We are centrally located, just 15 miles to the downtown areas of Paso Robles, Templeton and Atascadero, 38 miles to Cambria and Hearst Castle, and 29 miles to San Luis Obispo. You've got lots of choices! Take the day to tour the many wineries in the area, take a scenic drive to the coast and Hearst Castle, or visit San Luis Obispo for a day of shopping in the boutiques. We are located on The Creston Winery Trail and are part of The Backroads Wineries. Gourmet meals await in downtown Paso Robles or make your own in our well-appointed full kitchen and outdoor gas BBQ.

Our guests spend much of their time outside in the sunken patio surrounded by our century old olive trees with views of the orchard. It's the perfect place to have your meals, morning coffee, and evening wine under the stars by the fireplace. With a porch in the front of the house and one in the back you can choose your view of olive trees or the vineyard. Stretch your legs and explore the 160 acres of olive trees or stop by our tasting room to try some or our olive oils, olives, vinegars, dirty martini juice, and ranch goodies. No worries, the tasting room is not by the house so you won’t be inconvenienced by other visitors.

The main part of the house features a large open-concept living area a full kitchen, dining area, living room, and sitting area. Your whole group can easily visit and prepare meals together. The bedrooms are on opposite sides of the house for privacy. The master bedroom (The Sevillano Room) features a California King bed, lounge, writing desk and private bath. The second bedroom (The Mission Room) features an Eastern King bed and a comfy reading chair. The third bedroom (The Arbequina Room) features a Queen bed and a sitting area. The second bath is shared by guests in the Mission Room and the Arbequina Room.

We start off your stay with a bottle of local wine and some of our olive oils and vinegar with bread. We also provide coffee, tea and sugar. The showers are stocked with our own olive oil soap.

You may also use this location for family reunions, weddings and other events. Please contact us to find out more. There is also an additional charge for events.

If you want something closer to town, we also have a vacation house in Paso Robles just 2.5 miles from the center of town.

About Marti Menacho

We've been growing and making olive oil since 1999. We love good friends, good food, and good wine. We enjoy entertaining and cooking and are always trying new things.

Our original olive orchard was in Oroville in Northern California. It was a great orchard, but not in the place where we wanted to be. We were lucky and received an offer from a developer to buy the land. He wanted the land and we wanted the trees! It was our opportunity to move our trees to the land that we wanted. We purchased the ranch in Creston and moved 2000 century old olive trees from Oroville to our ranch in Creston in 2007.

Marti Menacho purchased this farmhouse in 2005

Why Marti Menacho chose Paso Robles

We had been coming to Paso for over 20 years to visit friends and attend the wine festival. We always hated to leave. We enjoy the sense of community and quality of life, the beautiful countryside, good wines and dining.

What makes this farmhouse unique

We love the serenity of the land and the peacefulness of the sheep grazing while listening to the tinkling of their bells. Star gazing, sitting next to the outside fireplace and enjoying a glass of wine from a neighboring winery is the best.

Not apparent from photos that home is a double wide. Would not have booked it if I’d known that. It was very clean!!!! Olive oil tasting room was fantastic!

Peaceful and Relaxing

  • 5 of 5

The central coast of California has always been a favorite of mine and this time our whole family got to enough the stay. It was amazing to see so many stars at night and our long walks on the property through the olive groves were amazing.

The location lent us easy access to anything we wanted to do in the area including a day trip to the ocean. The owners and the staff of the tasting room were friendly and very helpful. You have to definitely visit the tasting room. The olive oil produced here is my favorite in the region.

Beautiful property!

  • 5 of 5

We were up here for our son's wedding at his house in Creston, just down the road from this property. The drive up to the tasting room and guest house is just beautiful. The house has everything we could possibly have needed, and very well appointed. And we loved having the sheep and dogs right there in our backyard! We missed going to the tasting room due to all the other wedding activities, but I was very happy to meet Marti at the Harvest Festival in San Diego a couple of weeks later and partake in some shopping!

Wonderful Family Weekend

  • 5 of 5

Thank You so much! We had a wonderful family weekend. Your ranch was close enough for great wine tasting during the day and made for a great place for a family BBQ in the evening. We all loved the outdoor sunkened patio and fireplace and the blanket of stars which we never see in the Bay Area. Your Olive Oil tasting room was a fantastic way to start and end our trip! Can't wait for the return trip.
