About Finn Alban

Finn Alban, is the current owner of this historic farm house bought by her parents in 1966 as a place to retire. She is a 5th generation Texan and an award winning potter who creates pottery and sculpture in her studio behind the house. Finn's portion of the house is separated from the B&B by a stone wall and has 2 separate entrances.

Finn Alban purchased this house in 1966

Why Finn Alban chose Hill Country

'While growing up in San Antonio, I had often visited the Hill Country as a child. Even then, I knew that some day, some way, I would live there. When my son was 4 years old, that opportunity came and we moved here to this very special small town with its wonderful community.'

What makes this house unique

This antique and art filled property, is a well cared for, family home that has in the past, sheltered many people in a loving way. The sun bleached limestone walls give this house it's rightful sense of place in the Texas Hill Country.

Guestbook comments from the manager

Dear Finn,

We had a lovely time here. This was our first visit to Fredericksburg and will remember it fondly. We really enjoyed sitting in the backyard with the fire going at night. The cottage had everything we needed for a comfy stay. Zoey loved being able to roam around your fenced yard.

Thank you so much. Have a lovely Holiday! We will be back again!

Very cute home. Finn was wonderful to work with and LOVED that she was dog friendly. The courtyard was a great place to have breakfast. Finn thought of everything and put effort into all the little details!

Quaint cabin!

  • 5 of 5

We loved staying here for our annual girls weekend. It was really quiet and peaceful. It's not really walking distance to downtown but a short drive was easy. Also no kitchen but you hardly miss it! There's a coffee bar with a little fridge, coffee pot and some breakfast goodies. We will definitely stay here again!

Adorable property in heart of Fredericksburg!

  • 5 of 5

My daughter and I had a wonderful time at this lovely property. Sitting on the front porch was so picturesque and peaceful. The art and pottery decorating the old home was perfect and handmade by Finn the owner who is on sight and a very gracious hostess. My daughters dog came with us and loved running around the big fence during in front yard. Highly recommend for a great retreat.
