This was our second time absolutely planning on a third. Beautiful area. Beautiful lake. Excellent kayaking. Local trail around pond takes you right to a hike that allows you to look down from a mountain top at the amazing landscape of the area all without ever having to get in your car. House had everything we needed. Perfect place to escape.

We had an amazing stay! The cabin is adorable, cozy, and had everything we needed. The water is incredibly clear, and the beach area is the perfect size for relaxing and swimming. We especially loved spending our evenings by the fire pit right on the water—it was so peaceful. The remote location was exactly the quiet getaway we needed. We really enjoyed our time here and would absolutely love to come back!

We had everything we needed in this stay. It was the perfect spot for our family to disconnect and refresh. Beds are comfy. Kitchen was very well equipped.Beautiful spot. Hiking trails were great. We enjoyed the kayaks, canoe, beach and fire pit. We had all we needed and more!

This property is amazing. The only potential downsides, depending on your needs, are: zero cell service, small steps up/down within the first floor, and steep stairs down to the beach. There is WiFi which worked well for messaging only, and a railing for the steps to the beach. So these weren't issues for my group. I believe this is a family-vacation-home-turned-VRBO by the original owners. It's clear that this place has been very loved and very well-maintained. In the best way possible, you can FEEL the many years' worth of memories that have been made here. Pretty much everything we needed had already been thought of, and was stored in a well-labeled location! There were nice candles set out in the rooms. Games, puzzles, books, s'mores making tools, extra blankets and linens, towels, etc were available. The kitchen was especially well-equipped--we made a wide variety of foods throughout our stay and had all of the tools we needed, and then some.I really appreciate how practical the updates to the home are. They have modernized where it counts while keeping the original charm and character. Things like the windows and dishwasher seemed relatively new and worked very well--and that matters way more to me than having a bland decor overhaul with cheap materials. Overall, this property is cozy and incredibly charming. The lake is calm and clear, and the beach is great for swimming. It was everything we wanted, and we will be back next year!

Absolutely phenomenal

Getting away and unplugging is what I needed to do, and that is exactly what I got to do, and then some. The property was perfect in every way imaginable. The beach and the water were perfect. I made one trip to a grocery store and that was all I needed to do. I didn't leave, except for daily hikes and walks. The stillness and the quietness was so restorative. I was able to remain connected to the "outside world" as needed. I absolutely could not have asked for a better time and in a better place. I can't wait to go back.

Excellent, almost off the grid vacation

My family and I enjoyed a wonderful week, spending our time on the private beach, swimming in the cool water, cooking yummy dinners, and reading. This place is fairly remote...on the edge of cell service with spotty Wi-fi. But don't let that turn you off. This cabin is cozy, with lots of comfy places to sit and read and watch movies. The kitchen has everything you need...lots of pots and pans and silverware, plenty of cups and mugs. We never saw another human, although we could hear them from across the water from time to time. There are loons! We arrived on a Sunday, with enough food for dinner and breakfast. We went to Hannaford on Monday (40 minute drive) and stocked up for the week. We never got back in the car until we left! If you are ready to unplug from your life, but you would like to eat well and enjoy running water, this is the place.
