About this property
Classic Maine Lakefront Cabin, Porch and Canoe
Enjoy the peace and tranquility of a quiet mountain lake, towering pines, amazing sunsets and dark night skies filled with bright, sparkling stars. Our lakefront cabin overlooks Saturday Pond, a spring-fed, crystal clear lake which is home to several loons, hawks, great blue herons, osprey and an occasional eagle and moose. The lake is 179 acres with maximum depths of about 25 feet and has bass, perch and pickerel in its waters which makes for great fishing. Saturday Pond is located in the town of Otisfield, Maine about 35 miles northwest of Portland near the Sebago Lakes region.
This charming cabin is neat, clean, comfortable and has many of the amenities of home. With a porch furnished with wicker furniture and a large picture window, the cabin provides spectacular views of the lake and its wildlife. During the season, pick blueberries out the front door of your cabin or gaze at the brilliant stars in the dark summer skies. The cabin has a common area which houses its living, kitchen and dining areas. The living room has a futon which can open up to sleep additional guests. Inquire about our other cabin located nearby - great for another family or set of friends. Your very own private compound on the lake!
Perfect for those lazy days of summer filled with swimming, canoeing, fishing (off the dock or in one of the lake’s coves), reading a book in the hammock, lobster dinners, barbecues, and cooking marshmallows for s’mores over the fire pit overlooking the lake. For a change of scenery, drive to the Maine coast for the day to swim at one of its many beaches, visit its lighthouses and quaint towns. Or, enjoy the crisp days of autumn, fall foliage and breathtaking mountain views while visiting the many antique shops, gift stores, local farm stands and country fairs. Shopping abounds only forty-five minutes away in the Mount Washington area of North Conway, New Hampshire or about an hour’s drive to Freeport, the home of the original LL Bean store and many designer outlets. Or, visit the many shops and fine restaurants also an hour away in the Old Port Exchange in Portland.

About the host
Hosted by Ellen Attaliades
Welcome to our beloved cabin! In 2002, my husband and I were looking to buy a small “get-away” cabin in the Sebago Lakes Region. My sister and her family lives in Otisfield and my husband had previously lived in Harrison on Long Lake. We looked at 52 properties (to be exact), before I happened to see an ad in the local newspaper about a cabin for sale on Saturday Pond. Saturday Pond was near and dear to my heart, as I had spent many summers on the lake since I was eleven years old. My parents worked at a boys’ summer camp called Great Oaks Camp (GOC). Incredulously, the old camp’s property abutted the property of the cabin we were interested in purchasing. It was a dream come true to be able to buy this cabin, re-connect with family and old friends associated with the camp and have my daughter and my nephew spend summers on the shores of Saturday Pond as I did. We treasure our crystal clear pond, the many friends we have made and all the memories we hold of wondrous times on the lake. We hope you will have a peaceful, tranquil stay - a return to nature among whispering pines and the call of the loons. - Jim and Ellen
