    We loved our stay!

    The whole property as well as the units themselves are clean, functional, comfortable and stylish. We enjoyed the unique vintage yet upgraded feel of the unit and can not wait to go back.

    Clean cozy with a lake view

    We enjoyed our comfy stay at The Sawyer. Beds were wonderfully comfortable, even though couch had a nice comfortable mattress and great sheets and pillows. We slept like queens!

    We spent the week snowmobiling & stayed at the Sportsman’s. It was perfect for the 2 of us. Well equipped and very clean. It was right on the trail for easy access. Parking with our trailer was not the best but it worked. I enjoyed the vintage charm and it was renovated really nicely.

    Summer 2022

    The new owners have done a magnificent job rehabbing this beautiful motel to retain its long history. We love the mid-century charm, artwork and attention to detail in each unit. We enjoyed fishing and caught a wide variety - fish o’ plenty! The Winman trails are just a mile down the road and some the most fun on a bike I’ve had in years. Love this place and will definitely book again.

    Cozy place with a nice view

    I enjoyed the location and the view. One thing that i didn’t enjoy is how early you have to check out in the morning. Also the cleaning lady was there 20 min earlier than the check out, knocking on the door. I felt rushed to get out

    Great Northwoods Experience

    My family and I have spent many summers at The Sportsman Motel enjoying the beautiful view of Turtle lake. Although we loved the previous owners and the property itself, the new owners have made some really nice updates since taking over the property last year. Our kitchen and bathroom were completely updated with new appliances and bathroom fixtures which a much larger shower. Everything had a fresh, comfortable, Northwoods feel to it. We had a wonderful time and would recommend a stay at the Sportsman! We will be back next year for sure!

    Couples vacation

    My best friend and her husband joined my husband and I for a 3 night stay at Sportsman’s. We absolutely loved the freshly renovated vintage north woods feel of the units. They were so cozy and warm and I loved the authentic vintage light fixtures. The boys loved the walleye fishing and caught enough for all of us to have a delicious dinner. We girls enjoyed the shopping and antique stores near Minocqua. One night we had a great bonfire down by the lake. The units were well stocked and beds were comfortable. Will definitely come back here again and would highly recommend it to anyone.

    Retro with the amenities of today…

    We so enjoyed our stay at Sportsman’s Motel. Super clean and comfortable with a great view and easy access to the lake. Anyone who is looking for an authentic UpNorth experience, this is the place for you.
