My stay

As soon as we walked into the room the ocean was right there. I couldn’t have asked for a more picturesque view. The only issue was that the bathroom door did not close.

Beautiful one bedroom overlooking beach and ocean. Great security and staff

Definitely a great experience for the price. Better than a hotel. Great pool and beach. Super restaurants near by.

Enjoyable Vacation

We have stayed at Playa Azul I twice in the past and love the Luquillo area. Our unit was clean, well stocked and nicely decorated. Abdel was very accommodating and helpful. We would stay there again.

Everything you can ask for

Beautiful vacation. From Abdel, who was outstanding from the beginning to the end, to the apartment everything was perfect. The place is clean and quiet and had all we needed for the vacation we planned. The breeze, the ocean, the beach, the day and night time on the balcony was something to remember. The complex also has parking, swimming pool, tennis court, security and more than easy access to the beach. Definitely we will be back next year.

Loved this place!

First! It has many of the items needed for the beach, towels, chairs, cooler and bags to take to the beach. The unit was very clean, beware that to sit on the balcony you need to turn off the mini split or you will cook. Also, make sure to get a parking pass at the gate and check in at the desk, we didn’t know that and had a kind of rude reception from the security team. Loved this unit and the area, great pastry shop around the corner with amazing frappes!

Another Incredible stay in this condo!

This was our second stay in this condo. We felt the need to return here after our first incredible stay here, last year. (Please scroll down to my first -still accurate- review dated March 25, 2023.) Very clean property and condo, with the friendliest staff. The location is perfect, with so much to do in such a short drive. We visited El Yunque again, and this time did a self-guided walking tour of Old San Juan, that was truly stunning. Again, the view from the condo and balcony is over-whelmingly beautiful! Obviously, I would definitely stay here again!

Wonderful stay in beautiful Luquillo

The property is actually nicer than the pictures. Amazing view out the balcony and a nice table and stools out there for breakfast overlooking the ocean. Well-equipped kitchen. Very comfortable bed. AC in bedroom was great and quiet. Fan in living room was all that was needed given the great breezes off of the water. Been coming to Luquillo since 1979. Playa Azul is a great location with many wonderful restaurants nearby, and great facilities (pool, bball court) on the property. Only addition I would recommend is a basketball! Loved our stay.

A taste of paradise

We have been coming to this location for many years this is one of the cleanest units we have stayed in. The owner has done a great job adding a few extra amenities like oven and microwave. This unit has been updated with soft muted tones. 10/10

Gorgeous view!

We stayed at this property for a week and enjoyed it very much. A highlight was having breakfast on the balcony with an incredible view of the beach. Apartment was convenient to local dining, grocery store, drug store, and beach. The apartment was well equipped with everything you need for a beach vacation, including 2 comfortable beach chairs and a small cooler for a picnic lunch. This is in one of 3 buildings that have good parking and security, as well as beach access, outdoor showers to rinse off after the beach, and a swimming pool. The owner was very responsive with the few questions we had while we were there.

Beautiful but had no check-in information

Beautiful! The property was very accurate to the listing. The only negative was I received no check-in information or instructions. The positive to that was, the property manager was very easy to get in touch with and responded quickly to all communications. We were able to call to get the door code and he responded promptly to text messages. We would definitely stay again.

Great place in great location

The place was very clean and nice. View was amazing, sound of the waves was great and the breeze off the water was so nice. Steps from the beach and there's a very good beginners snorkeling spot right up the beach. Beach does get crowded with locals during local holidays but it's a fun environment (music, grills, etc.) Building has good security and parking. Location was perfect for us - right off Hwy 3 so it was easy for bouncing from there to San Juan, Fajardo and El Yunque. And it's super close to the Kioskos - a huge group of restaurants with a lot of fun food. Adbel was super flexible about timing and helped us out quite a bit. Would definitely stay again.

Excellent Location

This property was perfect for our stay in PR. Right on the beach, live coral just up the cove to the north west (left side of cove facing ocean) 20 min to El Yunque, 20 to Seven Seas Beach, Fortuna next cove over. San Juan only 1 hr away... Great Location... The only issue I had was that "washer and dryer" was listed but there was none. The property owner directed me to a local coin laundry which was not only inconvenient but not even open.

Had a great time!

I carefully read all of the reviews before selecting this property. I can attest the previous reviews were right! A charming, very clean apartment with a gorgeous view of the ocean, it also had all of the amenities one would need for a beach vacation. We were looking for a place that was quiet, uncrowded yet within driving distance to other attractions and it didn't disappoint. We had a small glitch connecting to the Wi-Fi but the owner was very responsive and helped to resolve the matter quickly. One suggestion: keep a sheet with instructions on how to connect to the Wi-Fi next to the router. Had a great time and appreciate the owner going over and above to ensure our stay was memorable!

Perfect Vacation Apartment

This apartment was everything we'd hoped for and so much more. The place was beautiful, comfortable, clean, and very well equipped. The gorgeous ocean view from the balcony made it hard to leave the apartment - as a matter of fact, we extended our stay because we really didn't want to leave! The location is ideal; Luquillo is a lovely beach and not nearly as crowded as many other spots. Good swimming, long walks on the sand, relaxed atmosphere, and conveniently located near lots of great food and El Yunque. In addition to the fabulous apartment, Abdel is extremely helpful and accommodating. He goes above and beyond to make sure everything is taken care of to ensure the perfect vacation. I would highly recommend this apartment to anyone looking for a vacation in paradise!

A beautiful place to stay

This is the second year we were staying for more than one month in the Playa Azul apartment. We were pleased from the beginning to the end. Abdel is a wonderful manager and you can't ask for a more receptive guy. Answering the phone 24/7 and if there is a problem it will be solved in the shortest time. Congratulation Abdel for the way you treat your guests ! Otherwise the complex and the apartment has everything from parking, security, all the amenities that are listed, a beautiful view and the beach across the street. George

The best place to stay in Puerto Rico!!!

This apartment is unbelievable! The view onto Playa Azul cannot be beat. I have stayed here with my colleague two years in a row for work in July and I would never stay anywhere else. The apartment is always spotless, has all the amenities you could ever want, and tons of towels/beach chairs/kitchen appliances. The main room has a great TV and AC and the futon is super comfortable as a bed. The ocean breeze is constant and you fall asleep to it :) Best of all is ABDEL, the property manager! He is incredibly responsive and accommodating. I've never had better management of any vacation property. He is always available for any issue or need. Playa Azul 1 is super safe with friendly staff and Luquillo is the ideal town to reach a lot of great destinations on the island! Seriously, don't stay anywhere else.

Incredible stay!!

We spent an incredible week at this apartment. The ocean view from the balcony is positively gorgeus! We found the apartment to be very clean and well-stocked with everything we could have needed for our stay. The furnishings and decor are more pleasant in-person. The bedroom has the most comfortable bed with the quietest A/C unit, that never interfered with the soft sound of the ocean. The complex is very well-maintained and everyone (including security, residents and other visitors) was very friendly. Location!! Easy drive from the airport. Easy, short drive for amazing restaurants, street food, kiosks and groceries. There are activities every where, including jet ski rentals, horseback riding and El Yunque (also breathtaking). We visited five different beaches, each with it's own personality and agree that the beach directly infront of the apartment is the best! This location can not be beat! Communication with host, Abdel was easy and pleasant. He was available if needed. Though once checked-in, his place had everything we needed! His place is truly "a gem" and I highly recommend it. Thank you for an incredible week!

The View!!!

The pictures in the listing do not do this place justice! The view is absolutely stunning. The condo itself is very clean and is bigger than what the pictures portray. The bed and pillows are very comfy. The air conditioner is in the bedroom which made sleeping great. The rest of the condo doesn't have air. It was hot/stuffy/humid at times but there was a nice breeze from the ocean. The kitchen is fully stocked with utensils, cookware, a small coffee maker, etc. Plenty of bath towels and hand towels for 2 of us for the week. We brought extra wash cloths and we did use them. There's a cooler to use and two beach chairs. There is security to get into the parking lot and more security to get into the building. Once checked in, you can drive right in and use your key to get into the building. Location is great. About 35 min from the airport. Close to a grocery store, restaurants, the rain forest, etc. The owner was easy to reach and very pleasant. My only complaint: The popular amenities list a washer and dryer. It is not in the condo or even in the building. It's a coin laundry near the building - just down the road from the parking lot. And there is not a spa tub. Overall, we were very happy with our stay. I would recommend this condo and location!

Nice But Noisy Place

This Playa Azul bldg 1 unit overlooks and provides direct access to Luquillo's central beach. Within a 10-15 min walk lies a large Amigo grocery, Walgreens, fast food, and a bank - but no laundry. The 22 floor building has 4 elevators, parking, and outdoor grounds, but no pool or gym. During my 5 week stay it was 3/4 empty. The 9th floor condo and large balcony provide a great view of the beach and ocean waters. I found it to be very clean, roach free, modern, and nicely furnished. And though it lacked a clothes washer, living room TV, and bathroom vanity, it was exceptionally well supplied with kitchen, bath, bed, cleaning, ironing, emergency, and apt living amenities. The bedroom TV worked well with several movie and English channels, the AC excellent (after a first night glitch), and the wifi reliable - though I did have some streaming problems with YouTube. The negatives for this place are few but significant. First, I had a stressful encounter with the owner when he threatened to cancel my booking 2 days prior to check-in. This was completely unwarranted and unacceptable, but countering that, he was kind enough to provide me a transfer to the place from Isla Verde. Second, the $99 property damage fee may be convenient for the owner, but it's a wasted cost for most of us who don't break things. I'd always consider this policy as a negative for any property listing. Third, while the location of this unit is convenient, it's ground zero for the town's noise. Several days per week, the bad music from beach goers' can be clearly heard, and this is augmented by the cars that park below, open their doors, and blast their huge stereo systems. The frequency of this annoyance is increased by the same type of cars that also cruise the street below, showing off their loud sound systems or engines capable of screaming at redline for several minutes at a time. None of this can be avoided by closing the glass vent windows. Add to that, the 4 nights of outdoor music that went past 2am, the daily hours of the food vendor's ringing bell, and the scraping chairs and noises of neighbors above past 3 am in the morning, and I found myself needing to wear white noise headphones often day and night. The noise, for me, ruined the place and would prevent me from returning. For a short stay or those not sensitive to noise, this is a wonderful place for a good price. But for those staying awhile and bothered by noise, I would not recommend it.

This building faces the North, you have a great ocean view without the sun inside of the apartment. The Owner remodeled the property and has new furniture and equipment. Perfectly clean. Breathless beach front views with no limitations from living, dinning, balcony and room. From the hallway to the apartment you have just in front of you the majestic El Yunque National Rainforest.
