Welcome to The High Hill Hideaway. Our cabin is located at the highest elevation in Muskingum County offering breathtaking views of thousands of acres of public wildlife land. This is the perfect spot for hunters, fisherman, couples or families looking for a secluded getaway. The entire cottage has been completely remodeled to make this feel like a home away from home. The fully equipped kitchen gives you the ability to cook homemade meals throughout your stay. The covered front porch offers beautiful views of the Ohio Valley where you can relax and catch picturesque sunrises and sunsets. You will be just steps away from tons of big and small hunting game. You are also surrounded by hundreds of lakes to choose from. End your day relaxing by the elevated fire pit. We hope you love the High Hill Hideaway just as much as we do!

At the cottage, you are close to many outdoor attractions including The Wilds and the Appalachian Hills Wildlife Area.

The Wilds activities include ziplining, safari tours, horseback riding, fishing, bird watching and mountain bike riding.

Appalachian Hills activities include hiking, hunting, fishing, star gazing, dog training and home of the Miners Memorial Park.

The property was wonderful and the swing was awesome. Spent most of our time on the swing. The view was beautiful I only have a few smalls things. The water pressure was horrible and took forever to even wash my hair and the second thing was that it was inconvenient to wait until almost check in for the code to get in. It took us 3 hours to get there and we didn’t get the code til we were on the way and the cell service is horrible in that part of the country. Took a minute to get into app to get the code

We had a wonderful stay! Beautiful views from the front porch and family room windows. We got to watch a storm too! The house was perfect and so comfortable - also so close to The Wilds. Definitely would go back.

Quiet Getaway

This little bungalow was wonderful. Nicely furnished, comfy beds, and peaceful. I would stay there again in a heartbeat as it was not far from family and The Wilds!

The cabin was really nice and clean. It was very close to the Wilds and multiple state parks. The views were incredible and there was everything you need at the cabin to enjoy your stay.

Great stay

Cabin was very nice! A prefect place to stay while we explored the Appalachian Hills Wildlife area. The Wilds is right down the road and is something interesting to do as well. Jon was a very responsive host, would definitely stay again if we get back to the area.

Great cozy cabin with excellent views

Can’t beat the view and the cabin is very clean and comfortable. Jon was very nice and was easy to communicate with.

This house had mouse droppings in nearly every room. We had to clean the refrigerator before putting our food in. Counter tops were also dirty. Coffee maker didn't work, the owner did drop off a new coffee maker and left 50 cash after I informed him of the issues. After the second night I woke up with multiple bug bites. When I told the owner about this he called a pest control company to inspect the house. He had told me that he sprays monthly for bugs and mice which clearly doesn't work. The results from the pest company found mouse droppings beetle shells under the mattress. When I asked for a refund on my stay he claimed that there were no mouse droppings (which he said was normally under the kitchen sink) they were in all rooms. He also claimed that he researched if beetles bite humans and said they do not. Upon my search on that the first thing that pops up when you search that question is YES they can. He is refusing to refund the cost of my stay. Honestly the only nice thing about the stay was the view. He did however let us check in early and out a couple hours late. Unless you don't mind having to do pest control on your belongings and vehicle after your stay and don't mind sleeping with biting bugs and hanging out with mouse droppings I DO NOT RECOMEND!!

Great, clean, quiet, comfortable cabin. Everything you need to enjoy a wonderful relaxing time away from home. We really enjoyed the comfy beds, front porch swing and fire pit!

Perfect location for the Wilds

Our first trip to the Wilds and we didn't want to spend the day driving up and back so this was perfect! Only 10 minutes to the Wilds. House had everything we needed, even areas to hike and explore with the kiddos.

Quiet and secluded

Surrounded by nature. Lots of parks with trails, hiking and fishing. Cabin was modern and clean. Cell service was decent, wifi strong. Shop for food on the way or bring with you. Overall great experience. Thank you.

Front Porch Sittin’ at its Finest

My family and I had a fantastic time at this fully renovated, cabin on the hill. Jon and Andrea have made this place beautiful, and very inviting. So much thought was put into everything, from the mattresses and pillows, all the way down to the paper products! Every aspect was top notch, there was not a single thing we needed, that wasn’t provided. I can’t say enough about it! We took a nice walk to the bird sanctuary at The Wilds, explored the woods behind the cabin, and took a short drive to see the Big Muskee Bucket! We made a fire in one of the two fire pits, and cooked on the provided, outdoor griddle. There is a giant picnic table outside, and plenty of chairs for looking at the stars. Did I mention the sunset?! Oh my goodness😍😍 The huge table in the kitchen was great for playing games, and has more than enough seats for everyone. If you are on the fence about this place, wait no more! Book it while you can, I think it’s going to be a hot spot!! 10 out of 10, worth every penny, and then some!! Thanks for being such great hosts, and for having such a great place for people to rent ☺️

Was easy to check in and out, very nice property, had everything we needed, only negative comment would be that the mattress are a bit too soft and lumpy. We would come back and we recommend this property. Very nice , roomy, clean. Beautiful view.
