We had an absolutely amazing stay at On Wings of Eagles in Kill Devil Hills! The house was beautiful, super clean, and well-equipped — everything we needed for a relaxing getaway. One of the biggest highlights for us was how dog-friendly it was. Our three black labs were welcomed, and they had plenty of space to enjoy both inside and out.The private pool was a huge bonus and perfect for cooling off after beach days. The location was quiet and peaceful but still close to everything — shops, restaurants, and, of course, the beach.The owner was incredibly helpful and kind, offering great suggestions for local places to eat and things to do. Their hospitality really made a difference and helped us feel right at home.We couldn’t have asked for a better experience. On Wings of Eagles is a perfect spot for families — especially those traveling with dogs — and we’re already looking forward to coming back!

The house was in a great neighborhood around milepost 6.5. Good location to the usual restaurants and stores we like to visit. Across the street from Target and the Movie Theater also. We walked to a pier on the sound side to watch the sun set a few times. We loved having our own private pool to relax in after spending the mornings at the beach. We will definitely stay here again in the future if it's available.

Our four generations enjoyed our stay. There was ample room to have privacy if we wanted to have time alone. We enjoyed the pool and it was nice to be able to have our dog with us.

A Fantastic week!

We had a wonderful stay at On the Wings of Eagles! The house was clean, comfortable, and well-stocked, making it easy to settle in and relax. The location was absolutely perfect—just steps from the beach with stunning views and a peaceful atmosphere. Whether we were enjoying coffee on the deck or strolling along the shoreline, it truly felt like a retreat. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a relaxing and memorable getaway!

Okay, not great

Nice location, conveniently located. Home was not deep cleaned. All linens were not washed. Beds were not made upon arrival. Home/furniture needs some updating. Having a pool was very nice. However, pool was not cleaned before arrival (full of pine needles and sand). Pool guy came during the middle of the week, but did not clean/vacuum the pool then either. Only 2 dishwasher tabs and 1 roll of toilet paper left; wish this would have been communicated that these household items would not be provided. It would have been nice to have paper towels, spray cleaner, Clorox wipes, etc to keep home tidy. I had to also purchase these on my own. I’ve rented many VRBOs over the years and always been provided with these basics. Home served its purpose, but I would not rent again.

Best place to stay

There was pool toys for all ages. Beach things for in case you needed. The game room wasn’t really a game room but it’s ok we didn’t need any extra fun. We had plenty to do with the pool it is in ground and starts shallow and increases in depth. At the deepest I could still touch the bottom which was perfect for all my kiddos. I will even say how incredibly nice it was to have floats to accommodate my disabled child so not too big not too small. We had a life vest for the just in case but he decided early on he was not all about the pool life. There were plenty nightlights as well!

We loved the house. It was so wonderful to have a pool on site. It was great there was a little stroller and toys for the little ones. Just make sure you take all paper products and soap with you

Best week ever!

We felt right at home here. The owners were very responsive, the kitchen was well stocked, and my dog and I LOVED the pool. I was pleasantly surprised to see a gate on the porch steps, which meant my pup could be out their leash-free. Thanks for a great week, Jim! We are looking forward to booking again.

We had a wonderful time in Kill Devil's Hill. The house was a perfect spot for our family, most of it being on one floor as well as the cleanliness of the space. We had a baby with us so your baby items were quite helpful. Thanks so much!

Kill Devil hills house

Home was exactly as stated in VRBO. Clean and generous sized rooms. Quiet neighborhood close to beach- 3 mins drive and walk to bay for lovely sunset views. Nice sized pool and clean pool area. We all had a wonderful stay here. The owners were very responsive to all my questions and their instructions for entry and check out were very clear and reasonable.

Eagles Landing is the Best Nest

The house is beautiful and in a great quiet neighborhood a few minute walk from beautiful sunsets and a 20 minute walk or 5 minute drive from great public access beach access. Great grocery stores are 3 minutes away. Feels like the quietest street but feels like the heart of OBX. The pool was great and so were the neighbors. Jim was a great host.

Great trip!

Truly enjoyed our stay in this very quiet neighborhood. Short drive to the beach and anything you’d need is just around the corner. House was fully stocked for cooking. Highly recommend!

We absolutely loved our stay! Location was super convenient with the new Wawa and Target across the street for last minute/quick necessities! The pool was wonderful after a long day at the beach! Our family would stay again!

Great House!

It was perfect for our family of 5 (adult kids). Pool was awesome. Only thing that would make it better is a bathroom on lower level but still a great experience. Would definitely recommend.

Great location!

House was very clean and instructions were very clear. Host was responsive with any questions. Good location to sound and walking distance to WAWA (coffee). Could walk to beach but chose not to. Enjoyed the pool everyday!

Our stay

This was our second time staying in this home on vacation. We love it. it is so clean and comfortable and the private pool is great for us. The house is close to both ocean and sound side and it was convenient to everything we needed to get to. Jim is a fantastic host and when we first got there we had a hiccup getting in the house but we called and Jim answered right away and helped us. We will definitely be staying again.

My family has been going to the outer banks for my entire life. There is no greater, more beautiful place on earth! Be sure to catch the great sunrises and sunsets over the water. The island is packed with history and there is lots to see and do.

Cosa rende unica questa struttura

With tons of upgrades over the fall and winter this house is a 1/4 mile off of the bypass and it is very quiet back on Fourth st near the sound. The stars are great at night out on the front porch in the adirondack chairs, and the breeze on the screened in side porch is unmatched. Extra fridge/freezer in laundry room. Don't miss this one for some great R&R.
