Hi Don, I'm not sure what you mean by controlled externally as the units are available to be adjusted by the guest directly. We have no external control of that. I wish you would have reached out during your stay so that we could have fixed this for you.

None of these concerns were expressed to me during your stay which is disappointing. You actually didn’t communicate during, or after your stay outside of requesting an early check-in, which I accommodated without issue. A rating like this hurts us tremendously, and feels unnecessary. The listing photos very clearly show doorways leading from room to room, which shows the connection between rooms, bathroom, etc. We do not advertise central air but do show AC units available. You were also visiting during one of the hottest weeks of the summer when even units with central AC were having a hard time keeping up, but had we have known you were uncomfortable we would have done what we could to remedy that for you. The light for the staircase must be on at the top in order to work at the bottom, so it had probably been switched and you weren’t aware but the light does indeed work. This is a historic home that was built in the 1880s, and we’ve worked to maintain the integrity of the era of the home while providing modern updates where needed. As for the neighboring funeral home, I simply fail to see how that had any bearing on your stay or was warranted for mention in your review.

Thanks for staying! Sorry about your salad mix, we would have been happy to have adjusted the refrigerator temperature to avoid any other issues if we would have known about the problem. Unfortunately carpenter bees are a big problem in our area. There isn't much we can do about them other than the traps we have hanging, but they are generally harmless to humans.
