Was a beautiful property with plenty of room for our family, we spent most the time on the decks overlooking the bay! Enjoyed our stay very much! We would most definitely would stay there again!
Great place for large family gatherings! Has all the kitchen equipment necessary, great bbq, very comfortable outdoor furniture. Floor plan is fun and a bit quirky! We just had a great time!!!
This is the third time we have had a family reunion at this house and we always enjoy our stay. It has a large and very well stocked kitchen and lots of space for people of all ages. We enjoyed the lake during the day in our rented boat and the beautiful views on the deck in the mornings and evenings. We hope to be back!
This was our third summer vacation at the Kokanee Cabin. It’s been fantastic every time. Lots of room. Everything you need to enjoy your stay is there. Love the fact that there’s a boat slip and we can just access our boat all week long from the cabin. The hosts are fantastic people, very kind and helpful, and very responsive.
Sam's house was great for our family vacation with 14 people from 2 to 93 years old. The house has lots of space and is exceptionally well-equippped . Even with our crowd, there were plenty of dishes for two meals plus. The setting was lovely. We brought two boats and the dock worked well. I would not recommend the house for a person who has difficulties with stairs.
We had the whole family gathered at this wonderful and expansive cabin. Rented a pontoon boat and docked it there in Powderhorn Bay. The rental was well equipped with everything needed for our 6 day stay. The host were great and answered all our questions promptly. We would go again!
We rented this beautiful home for our family holiday celebration and it was perfect. It was well stocked and very family-friendly. The owners were easy to communicate with and quick to answer questions or address our concerns. We all had a great time and would rent this property again. We highly recommend this property.
This property is perfect for multiple families or large groups. Lots of separation!! Sam and Kerry are very kind and quick to respond. We hope to be back next summer!!
This was our first blended family vacation. We had ages 1-60+. There was something there for everyone to enjoy. All the amenities made it so relaxing. We hope to stay again! The kids loved the secret room!
The numerous bedrooms and gathering areas allowed us to have a very comfortable stay. We were there in winter but I
d love to try it out again in the summer. This house had the best supplies of cooking equipment of any I've stayed at. We were making several large holiday meals and it all worked out great.
The home has everything needed for a large group to stay comfortably. The deck has beautiful views of the lake with morning sun and afternoon shade. We spent ours days exploring the lake and splashing off the dock. The large dinning table made it easy for all of us to have dinner together and afterwards the well outfitted game room and stocked movie selection kept everyone entertained. 10/10 would recommend!
Our large groups had an amazing time at the Kokanee Cabin. We had plenty space for our large group and the cabin come very well equipped, particulaly the kitchen and linens. We enjoyed beautiful views off the upper deck every morning and evening, overlooking the bay. I will add the the interior of the cabin appeared updated from the time the pictures were taken. Overall, we loved our stay and would highly recommend this cabin.
Received an email that was supposed to give us our entry access. However, had to communicate several times to receive our access code. Kitchen was great although a Table Cloth was placed on the formal table that could have been pressed, as it was very wrinkled. The front outside entrance and window screens/framing could have been swept or hosed down. We were unable to use the spa after the first night due to maintenance issues. We had a great time! It was a very comfortable place with beauty all around!

About the host
Hosted by Sam & Kerry Gridley
We purchased this beautiful home so we can spend more time close to family in Coeur d' Alene and Spokane (we live in Honolulu now.) Sam grew up in Coeur d' Alene and he has many fond childhood memories of swimming and fishing on the lake. Kerry grew up in Hawaii and considers Coeur d' Alene home.
Why they chose this property
When we saw this house, we immediately fell in love with it. It's surrounded by huge pines which give it a lot of privacy and sets the mood for getting away from it all. The house was custom built in 1991 from thick cedar and the inside walls resemble sauna wood. We love spending time with our families at this house riding ATVs and hiking. We've fished Powderhorn Bay for years and it's known as the best Kokanee salmon fishing on the lake and also known for bass fishing in the back of the bay. People even catch some good sized Chinook salmon out near the mouth of the bay. We’ve got a large dock that can handle multiple boats and a nice beach area for swimming sunbathing and using the fire pit at night.
Coeur d'Alene, Harrison and Kellogg, still have the sweetest, kindest and hardest working people. When we meet the folks in these towns, they welcomed us with open arms. The 'aloha' spirit does live in Idaho.
What makes this property unique
Bring the whole family or have a unique family reunion or wedding/anniversary celebration in this large home. We hope you love our home as much as we do!
