Romantic Getaway

Point Pleasant is a Great place to stay, Amazing views, close to Red Hook Area with lots of shops and restaurants. Will be back for sure.

Return Trip to Point Pleasant

This was a return trip to St Thomas with our stay this time in a different unit. The condo is spacious with a nice wrap around balcony however it could use a little TLC in the areas of the condo not shown on VRBO website. The view from the balcony is not up to date as this picture was taken pre hurricane. The resort seen from the unit was damaged and has not been restored. This was a huge let down as part of the reason we booked this unit was the view. Obviously this is not the owner's fault, just a share that the view will not be what you expected. The only other comment is the mattress has a topper on it and it was a nightly struggle to keep the sheets on properly. Overall though the condo was great, with a quiet location and had everything we needed.

Vacation

Great location close to redhook. Resort wasn’t great but we weren’t looking for a resort experience so wasn’t that big of a deal. Only real issue with condo was that master bed had lots of lumps and dents in mattress. Difficult to sleep on.

50Th birthday 🎉

This property was great for me, husband, & our 22 year old daughter. The hill inclines are no joke in terms of walking the property. We loved them! The staff at front desk was awesome! The resort was peaceful, beautiful, clean. We will definitely be back! There is not a dishwasher so plan to wash dishes with a million dollar view as you wash :))))) Thanks for sharing your villa!

Overall this was an excellent stay.

The rental was almost perfect! We were 3 (2 adults and a 13 year old boy). The location of the condo was perfect. We stayed in unit D8. Amazing view, especially at sunrise. Check in/out was very easy and the staff was always very helpful. This place is just a few minutes from Coki beach, which, if you have kids they will love due to the abundance of marine life. Besides being a very beautiful beach, our son got to swim with sea turtles at Magens Bay. Two issues: The bed in the master bedroom definitely needs an updated mattress. I am not picky, having slept on racks out at sea for many years. But the mattress has seen its better days. This would not apply to everyone. I am a photographer and I was out the door at around 5 daily to capture the sunrise. Our son was sleeping on the Murphy bed, which, when setup it blocks the front door. Unfortunately, the glass doors on the balcony can’t be locked from the outside. So I had to wake up my wife so she could lock the glass doors on my way out and back in. Those glass doors should have the ability to be locked from the outside for such situations. Having said that, we would definitely stay there again. We were out and about every day at around 8 for breakfast and normally came back to shower and go to bed very late.

Nice resort but not given room that we booked

The resort was very nice. We were able to enjoy the amenities both before and after checkout. However, the room that we received was not the one that we booked and was of much lower quality. We asked to be moved but were told that there were no rooms available. The hotel did give us a restaurant gift certificate and moved us the next day. The second room we were put in was gorgeous, however it only had a king size bed. They gave us an air mattress for our daughter and our son slept in the bed with me and my husband. The staff were all very nice and understanding.

Senic and comfortable

The bed and the view both #1!! Great choice for our honeymoon/vacation. Fortunate to have the Shoreline Bar and Grille on site. As good as any in the area. Excellent menu for all meals and the best Painkillers on the island. The resort offers complementary transportation throughout the resort and for a limited area in town. Staff was very friendly overall..

Charming staff

We made great friends during our visit to St. Thomas! The waiters, drivers and front desk staff went out of their way to ensure we had a great experience. We weren't in our room much but we were very satisfied with the mattress and cleanliness. 5 stars for sure!!

4th time at resort and it keeps getting better!

We stayed at Point Pleasant in 2012 and have been back each year. They are updating all of the units and D31 was awesome! convection oven/microwave; french door fridge; new flooring, bed, deck furniture - really, really great value for the price. The resort is great - 3 pools but I think the best one is the top pool with excellent views. They've added or partnered with some other businesses so there are excursions that leave right from PP. And the rates (July off season) are extremely reasonable - I can barely go the local beach here for the same price! We didn't get a chance to check out the Spa (another newer addition at the resort) - but they offer everything. We went to Shoreline (restaurant located on the property) for breakfast each day and a few times for dinner. Not a huge menu (but it's a smaller restaurant catering to the resort) but everything was really good and there was enough variety that i think everyone could find something they like and change it up from night to night . I saw a review that the prices were high at Shoreline, but I've been to many restaurants on the island and i think it is very reasonable (but, yes more than here - Maryland). You can also avoid that with the full kitchen (there's a full grocery store near the resort in Tutu Park; just ask them and they will know.) The resort provides transportation to local beaches but i like to rent a car. If you're not familiar with St. Thomas or St. John, it's very hilly so if you walk around the resort (depending on what unit you stay in) you will get a good workout! (That's ok - work off some of the painkillers you drink at Shoreline ;) I prefer the "D" units that are at the top but i also stayed in the lower units once. I want to keep this place a secret but everyone asks me why I love St. Thomas so much. Its affordable, beautiful - crystal clear water and soft sand beaches and I can't wait to go back - and yes, we will be staying at PP again!

Lovely stay!

We very much enjoyed our stay at this villa. I read the previous review and it made me chuckle. Ask the front desk what the price of a gallon of water is in St. Thomas. You'll figure out why no owner is going to encourage long showers! ;-) But this villa was lovely. The view is fantastic and we enjoyed hanging out at Shoreline Bar & Grill, the resort's restaurant. Great time and great rum punch!

Enjoyable but not fantastic

We have been to St. Thomas several times so this review should be helpful to newbies. While the condo itself was a clean condo and well up-kept it has a few drawbacks. I will start with the positives. The view is very nice. My wife and I spent every night on the deck watching the lights on St. John and the boats on the moon lit water. The shower is decent sized (big enough for two) and the overall layout is nice. OK, now on to the downsides... I mentioned that the shower is big enough for two. That is because it has to be. The only way both of us could have more than a 4 minute shower with marginally warm water was to be in it together. This would mostly be due to the fact that the water heater is a whopping 6 gallons under the kitchen sink. The owners should really think about investing in an "on demand" water heater. They are fantastic for conserving energy and still giving you nice warm water. The other major issue that I have would be the chairs on the deck. They are ok but they obviously didn't really sit in them before they bought them. They put your viewing eye level right at the top rail of the deck. I really puts a cramp in your view. You either have to stretch your neck way up or slouch way down in the chair to be able to see anything. When you slouch way down it's like you are looking through a jail cell. Some of the other issues are a bit smaller but still issues. First, the comforter shown on the bed is not the one you get. Not that thats huge but the one that was on the bed was more like a "hotel" one and not very comfortable to sleep under. The kitchen is not very well stocked at all with every day items. If anyone was planning to bring a decent family of 4 here it would be a stretch to go to the grocery store and get food and then have enough dishes, plates and silverware to feed them. There also is no oven, just a stove top. While this may seem like no big deal because you are on an island, think frozen pizza!!! Who wouldn't want a good frozen pizza once in a while while sitting on the deck at 11 pm watching the water. As for the other few things, while this place does have a fold out murphy bed, it is located right by the front door. That means when you fold the bed down to use it it completely blocks the front door from being opened even 2 inches. In case of a fire, you have to use the patio doors. As I have run out of characters to leave more info I guess I am done!

Beautiful Views

My sister and I enjoyed our stay at Point Pleasant Resort and were very satisfied. Everyone was especially accommodating and welcoming. The drivers are excellent and right on with suggestions for a grocery store and restaurants to try. We will hopefully return in October.

Very Helpful Staff

We thought that all the staff at the resort was very helpful. They were always friendly, had smiles on their faces and offering assistance. The spa was great and with a mix up in timing for our massage, the owner offered me an additional complimentary massage. All 3 pools were very well kept and the free yoga classes were very good too. The apartment was very large and had an amazing view!
