There is ample room to be together around a large dining table (seats 14), or main living room and there are cozy nooks to be apart. There is a cupola with panoramic views of the island and the ocean. You can see the ocean from every room in the house. You can walk to the Southeast Light and Mohegan Bluffs, and down long stairs to the ocean. The ferry and downtown area are a mile away.
One third of Block Island is protected through Block Island Conservancy, Block Island Land Trust, Nature Conservancy and other agencies, so there are countless places to walk, each more beautiful than the next. Every salt-water beach is public. There are over 300 fresh water ponds.

About the owner: Bill and I live here on Block Island 'year round. This is our 16th year. We love the clean air and water and the abundant natural beauty. I've become a professional photographer here and if you stay at the house, you'll see that every wall is covered with pictures of the island. We have two children and their partners who live in upstate New York. We have one grandchild and another on the way. We have two golden retrievers who love it here as much as we do.
Why the Owner Chose New Shoreham, New Shoreham, RI, USA:
I grew up fishing here with my family. We always loved and connected with nature, particularly the ocean, and I can't believe our good fortune in being able to make this our home.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
I come from a large family and designed this house to be a great place for family and friends to gather. There is space for people to spread out and have privacy and ample space to be together. Children and young adults in particular, love the first floor living area with its second living room. They feel independent in their own space but are close enough where adults can keep tabs and feel they are part of the family. The house is on a hill overlooking Southeast Light. It's very close to Mohegan Bluffs. There are water views in three directions.
