About Karine

My name is Karine I presently live in Florida but come back to Cooperstown to visit often. This property has gone thru many years of fun times with my Children growing up My daughter (Stephanie) her husband Bryan and my beautiful granddaughter Cora (baby 2 coming soon)

Manage the property and and live close by.

My son Derik lives in Montana where we are currently getting ready to open up "Rich Heritage" a bed and breakfast specifically catering to Avid sportsmen and woman. He is a Large game and bird outfitter. There will be plenty of Room to bring your dogs and horses.

Karine purchased this lodge in 2003

Why Karine chose New York

Marshmallow acres is amazing in that attention is payed to every detail. The kitchens are equipped to handle both small and large gatherings. Theres a bed and bath on each floor to ensure plenty of privacy.

We have averaged 3 Weddings a year and each one has inspired new ideas for a destination personalized Wedding Ceremony or Reception. ( using all 3)

Last year brought a unique "gals " gathering in one house and The hunters ( husbands) in the other..... Many creative getaway weekends have been enjoyed by many ... And if your lucky to book early Christmas or NewYears in the country. Thanksgiving will be available this year as well.

What makes this lodge unique

We strive every year to continue to update .Most of our profits go right back into the property. To ensure every guest is comfortable.

We just completed Cora's Cabin 5 bedroom 3 bath !

Log Ranch Lodge. Brand new inside and out! We even put cedar in the closets to bring the true woodsy smell inside.

Relaxing weekend upstate

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed Labor Day at the house with family and friends. The place is huge with plenty of room for everyone and lovely multi level porches we used for outdoor dinner dining. Beautiful landscape all around with many great nature hikes nearby. Would recommend to others!

Beautiful, spacious, clean property - perfect for groups!

  • 5 of 5

We got married in Cooperstown last weekend and had our entire wedding party stay at Marshmallow Acres. It was the best weekend - the property is huge, amazing, beautiful scenery, clean, updated rooms, I can't say enough good things. Karine was incredibly helpful while we planned the weekend and the BBQ we had there on Friday. Enough room for everyone to stay comfortably and play wiffle ball! If you have the opportunity to stay here, take it!

Owner's Response: It's always a joy to provide a beautiful backdrop location for a Wedding Destination! Now that the 3rd lodge is completely renovated inside and out. Marshmallow is ready to host those special occasions for Weddings,Graduations and family reunions. It was a privilege to work with Christine.I wish her and her new husband many happy years. Karine

Gorgeous home - wonderful family trip - great hosts!!

  • 5 of 5

Our family had the pleasure of staying in this gorgeous 3 level home during mid-march -- we were hoping for snow and we sure got it!! My kids had a blast sledding down the front hill and even though we got more snow than we expected (42" inches!), we had a blast indoors playing board games and watching movies on the satellite tv! We enjoyed the cabin feel with lots of modern amenities. The hosts were extremely helpful and accommodating as we had some unique needs as we stayed at the house during a rare blizzard -- they stayed in touch with us and make sure we were well taken care off! This home is great for a very large family or 2 families with kids -- the kitchen was gorgeous and there is plenty of room to cook, eat and visit! The town is very charming with some great restaurants and unique things to do. I would highly recommend this property, location and hosts for a great family getaway.

Owner's Response: When I heard of the approaching storm I was excited for my guests ( from the Sunshine State) They had 1 wish to have their children experience snow........None of us quite expected the amount that came! The roads, schools, even the hospital was closed except for severe emergencies.......I did stay in touch throughout their stay and kept them up to date of the surrounding areas ( They were 100% snowbound) While I do appreciate the great review What I must say about the area is that neighbors are true friends and extended family....When it was getting close to my guests departure with the amount of snow and road closures....We did not know how on earth we would get the driveway clear to get the family to the airport.....Thank God for family friend Randy! He dug them out with his tractor and when the roads opened the next day ...Our guests were on their way......Memories Large and small were made during This snow storm! We work very hard to accommodate our guests......With the Good Lord on our side we provided more than a few snowflakes ❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️

Beautiful, spacious home offers privacy & comfort!

  • 4 of 5

My family enjoyed our stay at this beautiful house over the Christmas holiday. To accommodate extra family members, we had to rent a house for our first Christmas away from one of our houses and we had a wonderful time. There are bedrooms on each floor, offering lots of privacy, the kitchen is well appointed and ideal for family cooking together, and the main floor is spacious and comfortable for our family time together. During our stay, the first floor was overly hot and the first floor shower handle was stuck, but Karine said she is fixing these issues. In any case, we had a wonderful Christmas and the minor problems did not interfere with our enjoyment of the house. Also, for those interested in the hall of fame, the house is a very short drive to Cooperstown.
