Good Communication. Good Property. Online presence and photos are reflective of the elegance and cleanliness of this property.Our entry and initial impression was most favorable and certainly heightened by the soft smooth jazz left on for us, very nice.....We love the Emerald Dunes building and location.This unit was top notch.The property always is clean and kept up....Really good stay.The arrival and get out times are aggravating. Fantastic customer service on our couple inquiries that we had.

No Place Like Crystal Beach

If you haven't been to Crystal Beach, you should go. This is a great spot to enjoy it. Just as pics describe, beautiful, 2nd level view of the ocean out the back. Well appointed kitchen utensils but bare minimum supplies. Nice, more recent remodel. Quiet, quaint, slow area on the beach in Destin. Only dislike: if you have a problem with the unit, pool, etc, don't expect great help. You are renting from a company who will/did deny responsibility in helping with a pool issue. No condo owner to contact or office on site to approach. We were stuck. It was fixed in 48 hrs, but we had no assurance it would be.

Clean and easy to get to the beach

We really enjoyed this property. It was clean, had easy access to the beach for being on the 2nd floor and had beach chairs and an umbrella included at the beach. We had to have maintenance come check out the refrigerator and they answered quickly and were helpful and nice. Emerald Dunes is also in a great location to many restaurants. The Condo just needed some floor mats by the doors coming in from outside and to the balcony (we bought some while there) and somewhere to hang towels in the bathroom.

Good Stay - Several Disappointing Things

My family and I have stayed at many different VRBO’s. Here are a few pro’s/con’s about this particular property: CONS - The pictures are VERY misleading. The pictures are beautiful and show a pristine condo, but this unit is in need of a serious deep clean. The vents and fans were covered in dust. The baseboards were filthy and there was so much chipped paint on the doorways and doors. The headboards on the beds were covered in dust and hair. The bathroom grout in both showers was very stained and the master had black (not sure if it’s mold or what) in the grout. The back porch sliding door was covered in grime and there were fingerprints on windows. - Cleanliness - in addition to my comment above regarding a deep clean, a more thorough cleaning would have been appreciated. Upon arrival, we found hair that did not belong to us all over the bathtub, both showers and bathroom. The fridge was covered in crumbs on the inside, the pans still had food residue, and the oven was filthy. This is not the particular property manager’s fault, but the outdoor grills and hot tub were both not working during our stay. PRO’s - location and the private beach - great A/C and lots of bath towels at the property Just a few things we wished we would have known - 1. There are NO beach towels or chairs of any kind. At these kinds of properties we have stayed at before, there have always been the basic beach equipment. 2. The private beach is nice, but renting the umbrella and chairs are very expensive. 3. It would have been nice for the property to have a Keurig. The old Coffeemate coffee maker requires filters and a bag of ground coffee. 4. Speaking of the kitchen, it would have been nice for the property to come a little more stocked in the kitchen department - basic spices, oil for cooking, sugar, coffee filters, etc. There is absolutely nothing other than pots, pans, cooking equipment, etc. One last note - my husband and I came for my 30th birthday with our 5 month old daughter. I did make a note in the reservation about our special celebration. When we have booked VRBO’s for our anniversary or other birthday, the hosts have always had something nice upon arrival - champagne, etc. We also asked if there was a pack ‘n play or crib service and got no response. No big deal because we brought our own, but it would have been nice to know. We overall had a great stay - just wish we would have known a few of the items we listed above.

We left on Sunday,3days early as Coronavirus meant our original flight was cancelled. This was our 3rd year in condo 204 although we spent all of January in condo 401. The changes that have been made are really lovely,but sofas and TV in living area needs updating,and although the main bed is very comfortable,it makes lots of noise,and the second bedroom curtains/blinds do not keep out the light,we have booked again for 2021 and Hoping,some of these changes will happen,also plastic plants etc were very dusty,and the condo is so lovely we feel it would be better without them. We liked 401 and almost booked that instead,but we love 204 so decided to have it for a 4th year, See you next year Pam Hawes

October 2019 Stay

We have stayed at Emerald Dunes several times in the past and enjoy the facility. You will not find a better view of theGulf available. This time we stayed in unit 204 which is a very Charming condo completely equipped and everything worked. We would happily stay in this unit again. Love the location and the view from the second floor balcony. The balcony could use some updating on the outside furniture for better seating. That was our only quibble with this unit. The beach is never overcrowded. We love lt

We LOVE staying here! But my step father who has had many heart stents and neuropathy in his feet would like to request a ramp along side of the stairs! :-) ( the stairs are kind of steep ) Great family atmosphere. The walk from the steps to the umbrellas through the sand was not too bad, with his heart and feet - taking it slowly - he made it just fine! (The contract beach service/chair guys are great! They were always there to help if Dad needed it! One more time, he wants to request a ramp! )

We stayed here with my husband, 6 month old daughter and mother. The rental was very spacious and pretty spot on according to the description. The grounds are very well kept and having beach service was an added bonus! Definitely would return
