Clean and Comfortable
The house is spacious and nicely decorated with interesting objects and appealing colors. Plenty of clean towels and bedding available. Anna waited patiently for us to arrive, graciously showed us around and was quick to answer texts. Easy drive to Northampton. Make sure to read the rental agreement carefully as there are lots of specific rules. If early or late in the season, also check ahead to see if pool is usable.
Anna received us when we arrived and showed us around the house. She made us feel very welcome. The house was able to accommodate my family and was convenient for attending graduation at U Mass. The house was very spacious and had all the amenities we needed for our three day stay. The bathroom upstairs in the hall was a little small, so we used the one downstairs instead, which was very large and nice! Thanks so much Anna for allowing us to visit your home!
Great house for families
We had a great time at Anna's house. With five little kids (5 and under) we were worried about toddler safety and the beautiful items that could potentially be destroyed. Anna was flexible and said to feel free to move anything we wished (which we did). The house has an unusual layout. What was cool for the kids (most of whom don't have a ton of space to run around at home) was wandering/running/toddling from the pool table room through the laundry room to the sunroom to the living room and into the kitchen (and into the giant bathroom). Older kids colored at the "bar" while younger ones spread out toys on the floor. Plenty of space to sleep. The upstairs bathroom is very small, as others have noted, but we made it work (and there are three other bathrooms in the house). It's also a great location. While we had wanted to be closer to downtown Northampton, being on the edge of Williamsburg was awesome. and there were multiple trips to Bread Euphoria, plus the Williamsburg Market and Williamsburg General Store are close and quaint. The photos on here don't do the house justice. It's very homey, and smells like lovely candles. (And there are also cool fake candles, too - on timers! The toddlers loved those...)
My family and I stayed here when we were attending a wedding just down the street at Valley View Farm so it was very convenient (maybe a 4 minute drive). The house is extremely spacious and very clean. The upstairs is a bit dated but I did appreciate the fact that the owner keeps the house clean and tidy. It's her private home, so we were mindful of that, but she made us feel very welcome upon arrival. We would stay again!
Nice quiet property!
My husband, daughter, grandson and I really enjoyed our stay. The place is quiet, roomy and clean....we would definitely stay there again!
Large house and yard in a rural part of western Massachusetts. 15 minutes by car to Northampton. Owner Anna is very nice but this is her private residence and parties are not allowed. The bedrooms are small, have no closet space, and 3 of them share a teeny bathroom with no counter and a shower with an ineffective curtain. We ended up taking turns using the bathroom off of the kitchen. Not sure why there is only one wastebasket on the second floor- in the master bedroom bathroom- and none elsewhere. The house is not particularly well set up for renters. It's challenging to feel comfortable in someone else's home surrounded by sticky notes essentially saying "don't touch this". The house is filled with many, many signs; some practical ("these mugs are for display only") and others, -not so much ("love thy neighbor", "don't ever, ever, ever give up"). I would rather pay a cleaning fee than to have to try to leave the house as clean as I found it.
