About The Owner

We have lived in Colorado Springs most of our lives and enjoy all that the Colorado mountains have to offer - biking, hiking, camping, snowboarding/skiing, etc. The city itself has a lot to offer as well from the fun Downtown/Colorado College area, to funky Old Colorado City, to even more funky Manitou Springs. The new University Village area near UCCS, only 5 mins from the house, also has a lot - shopping, huge variety of restaurants (both local and chain), Trader Joe's, Costco, etc.

The Owner purchased this house in 1996

Why The Owner chose Rockrimmon

It's a nice house that feels like a home, with lots of space both inside and out, lots of natural light, and in a quiet suburban neighborhood with mature landscaping, close to I-25 so easy to get almost anywhere in the city and beyond. The neighborhood has many large, open spaces with trails, lots of trees and lots of wildlife.

What makes this house unique

Offered by 20+-yr homeowner, who keeps the house up as a home and stays there several times per year. No sterile rental offered by large management company! So much to see close to the house ... hiking and mountain biking in Ute Valley Park or Garden of the Gods, exploring the Air Force Academy ... conveniently located near major highways to get to the mountains and their slopes, Denver attractions and sporting events, shopping, U.S. Olympic Training Center, and much more! We also love the mature landscaping, the front fountain and the fact that the house is very private even though it's in a neighborhood, with no neighbors on the back and one side of the house.

Guestbook comments from the owner

[Excerpt from guestbook] Our stay lasted from 13 Sep - 16 Sep while we were attending the International Association of Fire Fighters' Fallen Firefighters Memorial Annual Service. Our stay was amazing and we hope to stay here in the future. On behalf of the United Emergency Medical Professionals of Arizona Local I-60, we would like to say thank you and God bless.

Fantastic Home, Beautiful Area, Great Hosts

  • 5 of 5

This property is fantastic in a beautiful setting in the foothills of northern Colorado Springs. We were visiting from Virginia and had a mini family reunion and surprise party for our folks' 60th wedding anniversary and the family matriarch's 80th birthday. During the last night of our stay, we had 60 people over for a party and had plenty of room. The house is laid out beautifully with an amazing back deck with fantastic views. The furnishings are top-notch and the kitchen is very well-equipped - frankly the best we've ever experienced in the vacation rental market. The bedrooms are spacious and very comfortable and the entire house was incredibly clean - again, the best we've ever experienced. The property is surrounded by beautiful scrub oaks and large trees giving the huge back deck a "treehouse" feel - so wonderful to enjoy breakfast on the deck each morning with the views, but private! There were a lot of deer that came to visit which everyone enjoyed as well. Most of all, the owners and property manager were so attentive to our needs and provided such amazing ideas for things to do during our stay. We enjoyed hiking in Ute Valley Park and Garden of the Gods especially which are very close to the house and we had very easy access to all that Colorado Springs and the surrounding areas offered. Thanks so much for a wonderful stay and we're going to make it a point to come back and stay again!

Spacious, comfortable and a home away from home.

  • 5 of 5

We were in Colorado Springs for Parent's Weekend at USAFA. We brought 9 of our son's friends with so we needed space and lots of beds. This place was perfect! The downstairs had a pool table/ping pong table, TV, mini refrigerator, and ample seating for all of our guests. The kitchen table sat 8 and there was a large deck with several tables and a grill. This was a great location for our visits to USAFA. The owners were amazing to work with and I would recommend this house to anyone who is interested!

Wonderful time

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at your beautiful home when we were in the Springs for a family reunion. We had married couples with several children - all had a very comfortable room to stay. The little ones loved the bunk room, even building a fort in their room before the rest of us woke up. We didn't use the kitchen a lot, because we had a lot of activities planned while we were there, but it was very well stocked for any need. Several of our family walked the trail, right behind the house, and needed to wait for deer! What a thrill! We even had a deer at our front yard. Our only inconvenience were bees. We had quite a few right outside the door. But, that's what you have to contend with when you are in nature! Thank you for a wonderful place to stay and great memories!

Great location for family vacation.

  • 5 of 5

We really enjoyed our stay in this lovely home. It was conveniently located to Garden of the Gods and Pike’s Peak area. The multi-level floor plan of the house was great for our family of 8 adults and 7 children. It was very comfortable and roomy. We were able to spread out and not be on top of each other. The house was well stocked with lots of amenities; books, games and toys for the kids. We all enjoyed the pool table, ping pong table and darts. The little ones enjoyed the Duplos and dress up in the bunk room. The backyard was very quiet and peaceful. We even had a visit from one of the local deer. The only thing we had a problem with was the yellowjackets/wasps that hung out in the greenery in the front. A few of the kids got stung. Otherwise, a very pleasant stay. We would recommend this house to others.
