Very spacious and comfortably-furnished house in northwest Colorado Springs. Located in wooded area with lovely, mature landscaping and both mountain and city views. There is a lot of natural light in the house making it bright, sunny and cheerful. Quiet neighborhood with wildlife roaming - you will see deer and rabbits, and sometimes fox, bear, bobcat, etc. Very large wrap-around deck for BBQing, sunny morning breakfasts, entertaining and dining. Deck is surrounded by very mature trees making it very private and shady in the late afternoons. Plenty of sleeping space with five large bedrooms and a futon in downstairs family room. Big basement walks out to large patio and has pool table, ping pong, darts, games and large screen HDTV. DIRECTV on 3 TVs in house.

Owned by Colorado Springs natives who are happy to offer entertainment ideas and local information. Easy access to I-25, allowing you to get to all the great Colorado Springs area attractions sooner than later. Only 15 mins to US Air Force Academy, Garden of the Gods, downtown Colorado Springs, Colorado College and Old Colorado City. Only 20-30 mins to Manitou Springs and Pikes Peak attractions and 1 hr to downtown Denver. Want to ski/snowboard? Only 2 1/2 hrs to Breckenridge, Keystone, A-Basin and Monarch. White water rafting on the Arkansas is less than 1 hr away.

Owner's are constantly updating and improving, changing out furniture, decor, kitchen items, etc. as they visit/stay in the house often when in the area and when gathering with large local family. New for 2018 summer: replaced old pool table with very nice, professional-quality pool table, added stepped path down to hammock hidden in the backyard trees, hanging porch swing on back patio in the shade, and high capacity washer/dryer!

About The Owner

We are CO natives, and grew up and have lived in Colorado Springs most of our lives, enjoying all that the Colorado mountains have to offer - biking, hiking, camping, snowboarding/skiing, kayaking, rafting, etc. With almost 30 yrs as an Active Duty Air Force family (still going!) and a large family, this house has been our stable "home base" for much of that time. We've been stationed at the US Air Force Academy twice and during those times raised our own family in town. We still have regular family/holiday gatherings at the house as many extended family members also live in town or nearby, including our parents and 3 of our kids. We love to travel all over the world and often stay in VRBO, AirBnB or other rental properties as we prefer a comfy/cozy "home" environment to a hotel any day - a property where you can actually experience the place you are visiting, spend some time lounging outdoors, cooking, and relaxing. Because of our experiences, we decided we wanted to create a similar place of our own when the opportunity arose. We love sharing our home, maintaining it, and most of all, making it comfortable for fellow travelers. Hearing about how much our guests have enjoyed spending some quality time with friends and/or family in the place we call home makes us smile!

It's a nice house that is meant to feel like a home as opposed to a sterile investment property. There is a lot of space both inside and out for large groups to spread into, lots of natural light, and the location is a quiet suburban neighborhood with mature landscaping, close to I-25 so easy to get almost anywhere in the city and beyond. The neighborhood has many large, open spaces with trails, lots of trees and lots of wildlife. Aside from the usual and well-known tourist attractions in the area, including the mountain air and beauty, the city itself has a lot to offer from the fun Downtown/Colorado College area, to funky Old Colorado City, to even more funky Manitou Springs. The new University Village area near UCCS, only 5 mins from the house, also has a lot - shopping, huge variety of restaurants (both local and chain), Trader Joe's, Costco, etc.

Offered by 20+-yr homeowner, who keeps the house up as a home and stays there several times per year. No sterile rental offered by a large management company or investor! So much to see close to the house ... hiking and mountain biking in Ute Valley Park or Garden of the Gods, exploring the Air Force Academy ... conveniently located near major highways to get to the mountains and their slopes, Denver attractions and sporting events, shopping, U.S. Olympic Training Center, and much more! We also love the mature landscaping and the fact that the house is very private even though it's in a neighborhood, with no neighbors on the back and one side of the house.

Large dry bar area in downstairs family room with microwave/refrigerator; on-site basketball goal/court; library with books for all ages; and lovely upright piano. There's also a very nice public pool only 5 minutes from the house ( ) Comfortable futon in downstairs family room can sleep two more. Pack-n-Play and high chair available.

Can't get much better than this!

We had 4 Air Force Academy families stay here for Parent's Weekend with room for all of us and our cadets. We loved having plenty of bathrooms, comfy beds, great deck next to open space (soooo many deer). One member of our group has attended parents weekend or graduation over 7 times and said this is the best house by far! They loved that the house was set up for someone to live in and had dressers in every bedroom and huge washer and dryer, and so close to the Acadamy. We had access to a cooler in the garage and plenty of seating room for a few other cadets and parents to come over for a BBQ. The hosts were so accommodating and the manager is right across the street if you have any questions. Yes, they increase the price for Parents Weekend and Graduation, but so does everyone including the hotels. Considering that we split it 4 ways and could all be together and have a kitchen and didn't have to go out for meals it was cheaper than anything except a grungy hotel much further away - well worth the cost!

This house is fantastic.

This home was everything it was billed to be and more. The home is in a nice quiet neighborhood just as you start up the mountains of Colorado Springs. I went for a walk the 1st morning and ran into deer standing in one of the neighbor's front yards. Deer in this neighborhood are very common as I ran into them every day. The house was great very spacious and with a great deck and a trail that ran behind the house. We had a group of 15 people and had plenty of room for everyone to sleep. The basketball hoop next to the house was a favorite. There were plenty of food and shopping options close by. I would give this house a 5 star rating. We will be coming back to Colorado Springs in 2019 and will be looking to stay here again.

Family Vacation

Great Stay with Plenty of Room

We enjoyed staying at the house. There was lots of room and common spaces so that people could spread out and still gather together to talk and play games. The location is ideal, close enough to the major roads and shopping that quick trips were easy. The house had toys for the younger children, so they were always busy doing something and having fun. The nearby trail was also great for walking and running.

Overall, a great property to stay at.

Close to USAFA! Comfortable for family time.

We enjoyed our stay while in Colorado for our son's graduation from the Air Force Academy. Plenty of space to relax together. Nice deck and walking path for enjoying the sunshine. House has a well stocked kitchen for cooking meals to save on restaurants.

Very nice house for a large group!

A large group from our CrossFit gym stayed here for 2 nights, while we were in town for the Spartan Race at Ft Carson. The House was great! Very clean, very spacious, stunning backyard/porch, walking path behind the house, wildlife.... gorgeous! I wish I could transplant the house (yard and walking paths) back home. The property manager is very close by and was very responsive by text to any questions I had. Highly recommend for large groups.
