The property was just as described and as per pictures. All rooms were spaciousnes and well decorated. The private pool was the best of all, the kids didn't want to leave... In overall a great experience, excellent stay, highly recommended.

Rating Details: The property manager was somewhat unhelpful. The vacation rental was clean. I was very happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The facility in general is lacking up keep. The pool out back as others described had a lot of leaves and we had to request that it was cleaned upon arrival. The tiles in the pool are missing and broken and by 5 yr old cut her foot. We stayed for 5 days and was only given 1 towel for each person. We requested they be changed out and was told they would be deliver with housekeeping at 930 am. They were also to fix TV in bedroom. We arrived back after a day of excursions to find no one ever arrived. When I called our "concierge" he saidnits normally extra. We would have paid but don't say you will be there and not show. Finally someone exchanged the beach towels which we had to use to bathe. The location is excellent and there is parking onsite. No beach access from hotel but just down the street, short walk. After check in we never saw our host Mateo and we front desk could not assist. Despite asking when we planned to depart he never showed for check out.

I would like to clarify that the information you signed indicated that towel changes were an additional cost. However, we decided to provide the towel changes for you without an extra charge. Mateo was assigned to handle the towels and the TV issue, which he was able to resolve, although we regret that he was unable to address these matters at the time you originally requested. Mateo was always available when needed, but he was not present at check-out as it was outside of his working hours. We sincerely apologize for the delay in resolving these issues. Mateo was able to address them later that same day. We understand how this affected your experience and appreciate your patience. Thank you for your positive comments about the location and parking. We appreciate your understanding and hope to have the opportunity to better serve you in the future.

Do not ever stay here - ever!

The property itself is in bad shape: dirty pool water; floor crumbling in the kitchen And bathroom; dirty and outdated tub and rusty or calcified shower head i. the “primary” bedroom; primary bedroom is right on the hall so people see straight in to the room Unless you shut the blind i to the door to hold the blind shut (the blind is missing the last piece-hold) and you hear everything; second bathroom was so dirty the kids wouldn’t use it; the microwave didn’t work; no oven and not enough kitchen utensils; no dishwasher; smells so moldy; bugs were flying around the condo. WORSE than this is the property managers. They will try to make you - those whose primary language is English - sign a document that says “I agree to pay the above amount according to card holder issuer agreement.” The amount “above” is what you have already paid to the management company through VRBO. Therefore, while the management company says they will not charge you - there is nothing to stop them from double charging the same amount later, and you will have signed away your right w your credit card company to contest the charge. All they need is a receipt that says I have already paid the above amount. I am a US government lawyer and would never sign nor recommend that someone sign such a document. When I refused to sign it, the “concierge” from the management company threatened to remove my children and me from the condo. In an attempt to “prove” this is their regular course of business with VRBO and everyone signs the document, they sent me someone’s full non-redacted license (from Alberta, Canada) with a portion of the person’s credit card - including the last four digits and expiration date - visible. This is all PII and should never be disclosed. I have reported all this to Vrbo. Everyone except one person at VRBO was incredibly helpful and responsive. Then property managers are shady, at best, and the property itself is not at all what it looks like in the pictures. Save yourself the hassle and stay somewhere else that is clean and the property managers are above board and non-threatening. If I could paste accurate pictures of the place, I would, along w the threatening texts. Please find somewhere else to day - playa del Carmen is an amazing area and is rich with history and culture. It’s a magical place. Just stay somewhere else.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This condo isn’t newly renovated. It requires a refresh. Private pool is cold and always full of leaves due to tree branches hanging over it. Had a little bit of communication problems with concierge before arriving that stressed me out but it all worked out. Now the good news. Air conditioning worked, lots of hot water for showers, beds were comfortable, all appliances worked, location was great (we used hallway to garage and exited out parking area, saved us doing 2 flights of stairs), it was quiet in condo even though there was loud music next door in front of the Hyatt, patio was great (bring a light if you want to do anything on patio at night). And Mateo...He is at Aldea Thai every day, save his cell number because he looks after everything during you stay and is very responsive

Great private pool condo with many pros + some minor cons

We booked this condo due to the private pool so we felt more comfortable during COVID. We felt super safe from COVID as the property took temps, everyone wore masks and we saw staff cleaning non-stop. We had 6 adults in the condo. Pros: - Private pool with large deck area - Large space that felt very comfortable / spacious for 6 adults - One cleaning service was included, including fresh towels - Pool was perfectly heated and very clean - Being a part of the full resort was nice so you could be at the larger pool if you want and also can order from the swim up bar (paying separate from the cost of the condo) - Great location - so close to 5th and 10th Ave and to the beach (we didn't spend much time on the beach due to COVID) Cons: - Images of unit posted were not the same as the actual unit (the images showed a wrap around pool and the unit did not have this). This wasn't a big deal for us but wanted to point it out - Wifi wasn't great in the unit - we had some people that were working on the trip and had to sit by the pool to do so (not a bad place to work) - We requested another water bottle (it was not full when we checked in), toilet paper (we were not given more when the cleaners came) and paper towels (they didn't have kitchen towels) and were told "will look into it" and never got back to us. We made due with buying our own water, using Kleenex for TP and using a bath towel for the kitchen towel BUT it is poor service to not at least give TP at the minimum - Very bare kitchen - no salt and pepper, no oven - Main deadbolt to the unit did not work - as frequent traveler, this is somewhat concerning as if someone wanted to enter who got a key, they could Overall - would recommend staying here BUT would keep in mind that the vacation management is very hands off

BEST EXPERIENCE AT ALDEA THAI

Reviewer Comments: We travelled to Playa del Carmen as scheduled since november 2019 and we felt welcomed by the staff who provided us all we needed to feel comfortable. The apartment is precious with a huge terrace with private pool where we enjoyed most of the time we stayed there. The city offers a thousand options to receive food for delivery and the management offered also a grocery service with a small delivery fee!! We highly recommend them and this beautiful unit!!

Al estar a un lado de la playa es una ventaja de este edificio otro punto a favor es que hay restaurantes y oxxos en la parte baja del hotel. Quinta avenida queda a menos de 5 minutos caminando!!!!Se adaptaron totalmente a nuestras necesidades y Daniel es un tipazo; nos brindó la mejor de las atenciones siempre súper amable, a todas horas y con las mejores recomendaciones ever ❤️

Reviewer Comments: El apartamento en el que estuve con mi familia en Junio es una auténtica maravilla, no sólo por su estética y privilegiada ubicación cerca de playa Mamitas, sino por todos los detalles que el administrador pone a disposición del visitante. También es destacable la limpieza, absolutamente pulcro. Totalmente recomendable. Disfrutamos mucho la alberca privada que es enorme y la cercanía a la 5ta avenida, todo estaba al alcance de la mano. No necesitamos rentar carro. Se ve que fue renovado a nuevo y la terraza también es un lugar para disfrutar en familia. Que lindas sabanas y toallas, todo fue excelente. Sin duda, lo volvería a elegir. Muchas gracias.

We were a group of 11 school friends that got together to celebrate our 50th birthday????The properties that we got were beautiful, spacious, complete with more than we expected! Our apartments were decorated beutifully and were conected by a pool and Jacuzzi that were gorgeous!!Our concierge Victor went above and beyond to see that we had everthing we needed, he even had our fridge ready with goodies, ice and drinks! He offered advice on which beaches to go depending on what we wanted and offered different restaurants to go to! We spent the day at Mamitas beach and had a great time! We wish we would have stayed a few more days!

Experience to Remember

I would have chosen another room had I know the property layout better but that was my selection. The location of the Aldea is ideal in Playa close to the main strip and to the beach. We loved the Thai Zen themed décor which was very pleasing to the eye and there was always another surprise décor around every corner. Although we did not interact with the staff very much our concierge went beyond his duties. Guest services was professional and helpful. We were given tips where to eat and what activities would fit my families needs.

Wonderful vacations

Reviewer Comments: I loved my stay at Aldea Thai, everything was super clean, perfect location , restaurants really near, the beach was just a 2 min distance. wonderful view from the pool. I will definitely consider staying there on my next vacations.

Reviewer Comments: Mis amigas y yo nos hospedamos recientemente en Aldea Thai, en uno de los condos administrados por Playa Moments y nuestra experiencia fue fantástica. No pudimos encontrar mejor ubicación, a tan solo pasos de la playa..wow! En general, el lugar es maravilloso, las instalaciones muy bonitas, seguras, limpias y el servicio del personal del hotel es muy bueno. En cuanto al departamento, se encontraba en maravillosas condiciones, amplio, limpio, completamente equipado y con muebles modernos; el cambio de toallas y la limpieza se realizaban diariamente. Respecto al servicio del concierge de Playa Moments, también muy bueno. Nos ayudaron con algunas solicitudes especiales que les realizamos y el depósito del departamento nos lo regresaron íntegro sin pretexto alguno. Lo único que sugeriría es que los amenities los proporcionen de manera diaria ya que el 2do día nos quedamos sin jabón y tuvimos que conseguir por nuestra cuenta. Definitivamente recomiendo una estancia en Aldea Thai, con Playa Moments.
