Lodging at Seasons on the Bay is 10 miles northeast of L'Anse, MI on beautiful Huron Bay in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. Our cabin is a private 3 bedroom cedar vacation cabin right on the shore of Huron Bay, Lake Superior and is at the foot of the Huron Mountains. The cottage interior is tasteully decorated in a lodge atmosphere. A large stone fireplace in the great room extends up to the cathedral ceiling where you will find additional living space in the open loft. There are satellite flat screen TVs provided in the living room and each bedroom on main level. Also DVD player with a library of family videos for evenings in front of the fire. A second stone fireplace is in the breakfast/dining room, where you can enjoy sun filled mornings by the window wall overlooking the lake.

Seasons on the Bay has two bedrooms on the main level with a queen bed in each. The master has french doors leading to the covered porch and a spectacular sunset view of the lake. There is one full bath with a tub/shower combination. There is also, a very large bedroom in the upper level with two queen size log beds providing comfortable sleeping for up to eight quests.

The kitchen was completely redone recently and has a full size refrigerator and stove and varied small appliances to meet your needs. All linens and paper products are provided for our quests. There is a laundry area with a washer/dryer on the main level.

Enjoy your evenings by the fire pit near the shore or relax in the 7 man HOT TUB on one of the three deck areas. A gas grill is perfect for preparing a dinner to be enjoyed on the deck as you view the spectacular sunsets over Huron Bay. There is a large dock with seating to experience the view up and down the entire bay. A paddle boat and 14 foot fishing boat with optional motor are provided for your enjoyment. The beach is shallow so the children can have fun in the water on those warm summer days. It is a perfect place for building memories of smores, roasting hot dogs or catching fire flies with the kids or just relaxing with a beverage and your loved one in the rocking chairs on the covered porch as the sun sets over the water.. Fisherman will enjoy fishing year round in Huron Bay which is noted for its walleye and trout and there are three trout streams within a mile of the cabin. Fire up the grill for a delicious fresh fish fry.

Enjoy a pleasant walk in the woods on the Slate River Falls hiking trail within a quarter mile or venture up to Mt. Arvon, Michigan's highest point. Visit beautiful Canyon Falls 9 miles south of L'Anse, sometimes called the Grand Canyon of the UP, easy acces to snowmobile and ATV trails for some great riding and a Casino, golf course and resturants are just 10 south in L'Anse and Baraga area.

Winter brings heavy snow and great snowmobiling here on the edge of the Huron Mountains. The main trail, (trail 14 ) is easily accessible right from the cabin and there is a gas/party store and new bar with burgers and pizza within a half mile. Cross country ski trails in L'Anse and great ice fishing on Huron Bay and Keweenaw Bay provide lots of winter fun.

Beautiful cedar home on shore of Huron Bay

  • 5 of 5

We stayed for a week at this lovely home on a family vacation. We have traveled extensively and rented many homes for our vacations. What stands out about this property to me was the quality of all the furnishing. The cedar inside and out is well maintained and gorgeous. The furniture is high quality and not dated. The home is very nicely decorated. We spent a great deal on time on the extensive deck both day and night. Patio furniture is better quality then I have in my own home. The hot tub was a huge hit as was the stone fireplace on the deck. The bedrooms where cozy and the beds good. Only one bathroom so be prepared. Lots of extras where included (firestarters, grill, washer and dryer, firewood, spices, etc.) This property is worth every penny. We had no complaints whatsoever with this home. Owners are very nice people and accommodating as we had some family issue that required rescheduling. They went above and beyond what was required of them to make our changes work. Everyone in my family (wife, 2 daughters and in laws) all agreed this was a very relaxing place to stay. Oh and the dock is awesome too. We spend a great deal of time just sitting, fishing and watching the eagles. Would love to return during walleye primetime.

Relaxing vacation retreat

  • 4 of 5

My family of three adults and two children had a great time at the cottage. It really was exactly what we were hoping for. Home has a well appointed kitchen. Only thing it could've used were sharper knives. I loved the silverware so much that I've been trying to find some online to buy for my new house. Really liked it a lot.

There was plenty of sitting areas and relaxing spots throughout the house that everyone really had their own space. We spent most of our time out side enjoying the lake views, watching the eagles and of course enjoying the hot tub. Plenty of towels for the bathroom, kitchen and hot tub use.

My children made themselves at home on the neighbors dock which he allowed us to use. No fish were biting off of ours. That couple and their friendliness was one of the highlights of the trip. All the patio furniture was very comfortable. Couldn't spent the whole time on the patio if the bugs weren't trying to bite everything they passed.

The only cons was the houses proximity to the road. Pretty much heard trucks all day long. Was surprised by that.

There is a sign by the road that says Brennan's, but it needs to be a bit closer and repainted because it's very difficult to see.

And for the most part the house was very clean, but the bathroom had lots of cobwebs. I tried to ignore them but by the second day I found myself sweeping the ones near the toilet and trying to ignore the others. The bathroom could use some updating and a just a real good deep cleaning.

Other than those small pros I'd return in a heart beat. It really was what our busy tech driven family needed.

Perfect 20th Anniversary Trip

  • 5 of 5

We stayed an entire week in this beautiful cabin in the UP of Michigan. The cabin was well equipped with everything to make your stay easy and enjoyable. Kitchen is well stocked, gas grill is ready and waiting, the pellet stove is up for its important job and the decor makes you feel right at home. Mary Jean answered our emails in a timely manner and even though our deposit checks "went missing", she was very patient and understanding. There was a folder with all the pertinent info one could need on the area "goings on". We used a blue pamphlet to make sure to hit all the big sights and many waterfalls in the area (we always had this with us). The day trips looking for waterfall after waterfall were the best. This area is a GREAT place to Geocache. I think we found 28 caches on this trip. The most ever in such a short amount of time (we usually have our teens with us and it's usually them actually locating the caches - it's sooo much fun being the 'finder' and not the 'secretary' documenting the finds). The hot tub is great and always makes returning after a long day knowing that's waiting. We didn't have enough time to enjoy the lake right there at the cabin. Our day trips kept us busy and when we were at the cabin, the chilly air and winds kept us inside by the stove. There's so much left to do up there and I think a 2 week visit would be ideal. We want to return again ASAP and thinking about leaving the teens at home once again. The cell service is nil but you know that from the get go since Mary Jean made sure to inform us of that ahead of time. The cabin does have WI-Fi and when we were at the cabin, my husband was able to keep in contact with other family members who had iPhones. There's too much more to tell you and you will need to take my word for it when I say this is the perfect cabin to stay at. Thank you Ed and Mary Jean for sharing your family home with us. We'd love to return next year.

Beautiful Cabin

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I greatly enjoyed our stay. The cabin is beautifully furnished and decorated, the amenities are plentiful, and the views are stunning. The owner checked in with us at the beginning of our stay to make sure all was well, which was appreciated. We didn't spend as much time at the cabin as we thought we would, as we were so busy out enjoying the weather and natural beauty all around. We highly recommend visiting Pointe Abbaye and Canyon Falls.

And we did return

  • 5 of 5

Sandy and I just returned from our second annual stay at Brennan's Seasons on the Bay. If you are looking for beautiful accommodations,a central location to many scenic areas, a warm, relaxing environment, and the friendliness of a small midwestern town, then this is definitely where you want to be. Several nearby restaurants provide excellent meals, but we found our favorite was The Finn, just a short distance from the home. The Friday fish fry was fantastic...as are their daily specials. We have traveled and stayed at several resorts both in the states and in Canada, but no place has compared to Ed and Mary Jean's lake home. We are already making plans to return next year. Our experiences during the past two years at Brennan's can best be described in one word: Perfect! We would highly recommend Brennan's Seasons on the Bay to anyone looking for the ideal vacation place, a place where there is certainly something of interest for everyone....And where the accommodations are second to none. Dan and Sandy

Simply Perfect!

  • 5 of 5

This home was simply perfect for our family of five for a long weekend winter getaway! The pellet stove in the great room kept us cozy warm, the bedrooms were comfortable and well-appointed and the kitchen was equipped with everything we needed to cook our own meals. Special thanks to the owner's daughter who quickly got the place ready for us after the previous renter left, searched for my daughter's hat that was inadvertently left behind when we departed and then mailed it to us. You can't find many places that provide such terrific customer service ~ they were truly concerned about making our stay the best that it could be and we greatly appreciate that! We hope to return in the summer sometime to enjoy the beautiful setting in a different season.
