Sunfish Cove is located on the soundside in Avon. Sunfish Cove is a wonderful vacation spot, conveniently located near shopping and restaurants. Charming and cozy cottage ideal for a small family or a couple seeking a getaway. You are allowed to bring your dog, and there is a secure area for them to play freely. All visitors must provide their own linens, towels, and paper goods. Avon's Calling is styled and equipped according to the preferences of its owner. A coffee maker, microwave, toaster, pots and pans, dishes, cutlery, silverware, glasses, mattress pads, pillows, and blankets or comforters are included. Reservation charges, fees for partial stays, pet-related costs, taxes, and insurance are applicable.
In case of cancellation or change in any reservation, no refund will be made by Dolphin Realty or the owners we represent unless the unit is re-rented and confirmed by the newer reservation for the cancelled period. All cancellations and changes are subject to a $75.00 charge, reservation fee; Trip Cancellation and Travel Insurance premium, Property Protection and Credit Card Processing Fee if applicable. Please notify our office of any changes as soon as possible. No refunds will be issued due to lack of fish or inclement weather. The offered Trip Cancellation and Travel Insurance covers many unforeseen and emergency situations.

House was an advertised had everything we needed but a washer and dryer but excellent house for the money will stay at this property again.

Our second stay at this cottage was every bit as incredible as the first! It’s the perfect place to unwind and enjoy everything Hatteras Island has to offer. The home is spotless, comfortable, and thoughtfully equipped with everything we needed for a relaxing vacation.The location couldn’t be better—close to the beach, peaceful, and far enough south to escape the crowds. We spent our days enjoying the beautiful beaches, incredible sunsets, and the laid-back OBX lifestyle that keeps bringing us back year after year.This cottage truly feels like a home away from home, and we’re already looking forward to our next visit. If you’re considering staying here, don’t hesitate—you won’t be disappointed!

Nice cottage

The cottage is nice and dog friendly. It was further from the beach then we anticipated and had to drive to the beach most days. The mosquitos were also really bad outside but overall nice place

This is overall a great cottage. It is well-maintained and comfortable. I really liked how the surrounding trees blocked the views so it felt more private and peaceful. Be aware that since this is a dog friendly home, the sofa did smell a bit like wet dog and had a decent amount of dog hair. Luckily I had a quilt to lay over the sofa while we used it. And although the kitchen is nice, it is very minimally stocked. There wasn't even a strainer for draining pasta or rinsing fruit. So bring a lot of kitchen supplies if you plan on cooking a lot. I would definitely stay here again and would just pack supplies accordingly.

The cottage was outstanding. Very clean and up to date. Loved the enclosed porch. Perfect for me, my husband and 2 dogs. The only issue was the grass was very high in the fenced in yard. The dogs did not like being outside. I did call sunday and left a message if someone would be mowing. I never received a phone call back. I called again and spoke with someone who said they did have a message in to the lawn company but did not know when they would be there. They never came.

We had a great stay at Sunfish Cove. The house was clean and was exactly what we were looking for. It was the perfect size for my husband and I and our two large dogs. The fenced in back yard was perfect for the dogs as well. The furniture was clean, and the house was very clean overall.I really liked the screened in porch, and the small charcoal grill (the kind you would find at a park) was great for grilling dinner. Like other reviews, there are a lot of mosquitos in the late evenings/early mornings. However, we spoke to people around the area and the mosquitoes are not specific to Sunfish Cove—- it is a common nuisance of the whole area. We bought some bug spray and that solved the issue immediately. I wouldn’t let mosquitoes deter you from staying because the bug spray really did work/help.My favorite part of Sunfish Cove was its proximity to the beach access. If you turn left onto the main road there is a beach access point one mile down the road. That beach does not have lifeguards, and the water can be a bit rough. We chose to go down to the Hatteras lighthouse (less than a 10 minute drive) and go to the beach there because the water was a little calmer there. They also have lifeguards on duty. But both beaches were good and both are close enough that it isn’t inconvenient. I highly recommend Sunfish Cove to anyone looking for a beach vacation in the outer banks. We really enjoyed ourselves and the area had a lot of shops, activities, and restaurants.
