This newly renovated luxury home is located a short ten minute, three and half block walk to the beach. Even better, the home is located adjacent to the central downtown shopping area of town so you'll be able to walk to restaurants, shopping, and food markets. Lastly, Spring Lake park - with its tennis courts, playground, walking trails and pond is less than a block away.

The home features a wrap-around porch, huge eat-in kitchen capable of easily seating 12, and large modern living room with the latest data-steaming and cable entertainment options one expects in 2015. The second floor features a full bath, two large bedrooms each equipped with queen-size beds and a master suite with a king-size bed and a master bath with walk-in shower, large tub, and double sinks.

A fourth bedroom with a full-size bed and another full bath are located on the third floor. There is also another sleeping area on the third floor.

There is a large recreation room in the finished basement with modern home theatre. The home is located on a comfortably sized, well-landscaped lot located just one block north of Spring Lake Park where there are walking trails, tennis courts, playground, and pond.

Finally - for those who cannot disconnect from their careers - a private, office - detached from the home - with 2 land line phones, broadband connectivity and desks is available for use.

Five access badges are provided for use of the beach, both of the North end or South end pools, and the beach locker/shower area.

About Mario Passalacqua

We are a family born, raised and educated in the northeast yet also one that has had the opportunity to travel extensively and even live overseas. After 30 years of corporate work, we operate a Bed and Breakfast in the New Hope, PA area. These experiences have allowed us to create an understanding of how to create delightful leisure travel experiences - consistent with the expectations of the travelers.

In the case of Spring Lake, we were attracted to this area over a decade ago as a very family-oriented town that is also located on the coast. It is a low-key town, there are no arcades or bars on the boardwalk - in fact - Spring Lake has the longest non-commercial boardwalk in NJ. So our vacations there were filled with ample family time - daytime at the beach or bicycling thru the nearby towns - and evenings hosting dinners for visiting relatives and friends - or dining at one of the nearby restaurants

The property is a fully renovated and modernized traditional colonial home that reflects the expectations and lifestyle of today's families. The beach is a 10 minute walk away - 2 minutes by bike - yet the home is also within the village providing the ability to easily walk to interesting shopping and dining when you need a break from sunning and swimming.

Tastefully decorated, uncluttered, equipped with the latest conveniences and technology - one is quickly able to slip into vacation mode while still retaining ability to maintain the daily routines.

What makes this house unique

The home has a very warm feeling to it from the moment you walk in. The large kitchen and dining area immediately bring thoughts of family gatherings and celebrations after long days at the beach. The yard is private and perfect for children to play in or for adults to relax and sip drinks while someone barbecues.

But there are options - perhaps you want someone else to cook - and you don't wish to drive - literally just walk 3 minutes and you have multiple fine restaurants from which to choose.

Perfect Setting and helpful hosts

While staying in town for about two weeks, we were lucky to have this wonderful rental; which felt like home, providing for all of our needs and loads of fun. The rental was clean, comfortable and located perfectly - close to the park and tennis courts, close to the beach and a block away from lovely shops downtown. We walked the town and the boardwalk and rode bikes, which they kindly shared with us. We drank coffee on the porch each morning enjoying the town and the friendly passersby. We swam in the Atlantic Ocean (we are from California), which was a fun new experience and the beach passes provided by our hosts made our frequent stops affordable and easy. Anything we could have needed was available; cooking supplies, paper products, an air mattress, bikes, tennis rackets, bedding, beach chairs, etc. The hosts checked on us upon arrival and continued to answer any questions we had during the stay. We appreciate so much them sharing their lovely home with our three families.

Great house and overall experience

This was a terrific experience. The owners were available and the house was in GREAT shape. You can tell the owners care about this house in a way most beach rentals aren't cared for. Everything worked fantastically and the pictures understate how great this place actually is. It's warm, comfortable and very well equipped in a great location. The owners were very communicative and low maintenance. We were extremely happy we stayed here.

Immaculate property. Beautifully decorated. Perfectly located to shopping and restaurants.

This home is absolutely beautiful!! Very tastefully decorated and thoughtfully appointed with the many amenities one expects in high end properties. Kitchen was lovely and had all the equipment we needed. Adjoining eating area made interplay between cooking and dining seamless. House was immaculately clean and had appropriate high end bed linens, towels, toilet paper and tissues. Every room was comfortable and well appointed. We enjoyed the comfortable seating in the living room with gas fireplace, and entertainment area in both the living room and the downstairs family room was terrific. The outdoor seating was great with a covered table for four on back of house as well as 2 comfy rockers in front covered area. Contact with host was lovely. We did have a few issues with cable reception as we were there during Hurricane Matthew, but host was able to resolve these to our satisfaction.

The day after we returned from this rental, we received an email, with confirmation the next day, that this owner was deducting several hundred dollars from our security deposit to cover the "excessive cleaning expenses incurred on Saturday afternoon following your departure." The excessive cleaning was due to six points: "Trash not taken out, Dishwasher and sink loaded with dirty dishes, coffee pot left on, cup marks on leather couch, evidence of food in the living room.

The last point, "plunger and bucket in the powder room" was there because the toilet backed up and we fixed it rather than call you late in the evening.

There was no breakage, no theft and no stains.

Really? Emptying waste baskets and loading, unloading a dishwasher and other small tasks made the service hours excessive?

We had already paid a several hundred dollar nonrefundable fee for this service. Now we paid double.That is one expensive cleaning service. I have NEVER heard of fees like this one.

We were more than willing to not mention any negative experiences we had because people are trying to run a rental business and small things happen, but this decision to charge us so much for cleaning made us realize that we should let people know what was NOT offered and how the owner changed his:

1. There is NO bathroom door on the master bedroom bathroom. We were NOT told about situation. It made for awkward and uncomfortable moments. We were told to squeegee the shower stall after each use, which we did.

2. There were SIX beach chairs in the locker. TWO were broken and could not be used. We were NOT told about this situation. We had six members of our family with us.

3. There were no beach umbrellas. We were NOT told about this situation either. I called the owner about the lack of umbrellas and he told me that a previous renter had stolen them. In the email this week, the owner wrote, " "We removed the beach umbrella from the locker for safety reasons." Which statement is the truth?

Yes, I should have read the rental agreement, Section 14B about leaving the house in pristine condition and Section 17B about taking out the trash with more care. I will not make that mistake again.

This was our third year renting VRBO in Spring Lake. The first two years were delightful and it was a pleasure working with the owners.

Owner's Response: In ten years, this is the first time we have ever had to withhold money from a security deposit to cover excessive cleaning and laundry services that were necessary in order to adequately prepare our home for the next renters. We are committed to providing and maintaining an immaculate beach home for our incoming guests, as reflected in our rental agreement. The master bedroom is actually a spacious suite in which there is a large, private, luxury bath as well as a private outdoor porch.

I usually don't write reviews, however I wanted to thank Mario and his family for the use of their home. It is immaculate and comes with everything you would need for a comfortable stay. .. The house is immaculate and very well kept both inside and out. It is in a perfect location for shopping, eating, beach etc. Mario is extremely helpful and welcoming but not intrusive to his guests. We will definitely stay again on our next trip to Spring Lake. Thanks again Mario!!
