Fall beach getaway

Perfect spot with great amenities, clean, central location on the island, nice balcony view, easy entry from 2nd level parking deck it’s just a few steps away from entrance door into condo! Couple choices of restaurants rite across the street.

Spring Break

Great access to the beach. Amenities were terrific. Kids loved the choice between pool vs beach. Definitely bring extra toiletries as listed. One thing they could add which would be great is a streaming option for the television. Overall great stay.

Great Condo

This property is beautiful. When they say they give you a starter roll of TP, they mean it, there was nothing extra, so I recommend taking some. One odd thing I have never experienced before was at check out they expected you to strip all the beds and wash the sheets, so they do not sanitize and outsource the cleaning of linens. Several of our towels had stains on them and didn't appear to be clean. Which I just rewashed in hot water before using. But all in all the place and people were great and I would stay again.

We will be back

I don’t think the pictures of this unit do it justice. It’s updated and clean, kitchen well stocked with appliances, pans, etc as we brought our food for the stay to cook (because of Covid). The kids loved the jetted tub in the master. I do recommend if you come with kids that you bring a beach cart as the walk is pretty far but we also knew that coming into it and didn’t bring one anyways so that’s our mistake. Also, you may consider a stopper on the sliding door as my husband jammed his finger up pretty good trying to catch it since it slides so fast when opening. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and will be back.

Exceptional Stay

The property was just as described. The view was fantastic. The outdoor pool was clean and provided some afternoon shade. The indoor pool was closed during our stay. Our only complaint was the mattress on the king size bed needs to be replaced. It has a valley in it that makes it uncomfortable to sleep on. This was definitely a relaxing trip. The island itself is not commercialized. Will definitely be back.

Beautiful place!

Holiday Isle at Dauphin Island has all the amenities you could possibly want! The place is very well kept and is very quiet. Beaches are wide and are not crowded. Watch out for the rip currents though!

Nice family friendly getaway

Proximity to the beach, stunning view of the Gulf, comfortable, well-stocked, spotless unit! Big pluses of the beach itself were that there are no big waves so we parents could relax and not worry while the kids played, and that it was not too crowded. I wish we had been more prepared for the monster mosquitos. Don’t use the sandy path to the beach on the west side of the building where the unit is located, but make your way to the center of the building to utilize the boardwalk; much less mosquitos there. Also bring repellant and candles, or whatever other way to repel them while on the deck.

Great getaway

We vacationed the last week of July and the beach not crowded at all which is exactly what I hoped for. Very peaceful. The condo was not too far from the beach and was very clean and comfortable. We had a great time!

Great escape!

We had a wonderful family vacation here with our 2 boys ages 8 and 1. The condo was perfect and is larger than it appears in the pictures. Also the listing says it only has 1 bathroom, but it has 2. That was a nice surprise. One is off the living room and also attached to a bedroom and the other is attached to the master bedroom. The master bedroom also has balcony access. The only problem we had is the cold water handle on the master bathroom tub is very hard to turn. You have to pull it really hard until it feels like it might break. Another reviewer mentioned the jets in the tub coming on in the night. If you’ve recently run the water in the tub, the jets will turn on to dry out the lines. This is what the front desk clerk told us after we mentioned it to her. It wasn’t a problem just loud and sometimes happened while our 1 year old was napping. Overall, I would recommend this condo and would stay here again. The gated garage parking right outside the door was a plus too.

Facilities were lovely. Well appointed condo. Nice heated indoor and partially shaded outdoor pools!

Long boardwalk to the beachfront... but NO STEPS! So easy to tote kids and rolly carts if needed. Arrived after hurricane Michael so substantial flooded area between end og boardwalk and beach to have to wade through, but the beach was clean and nice. Lots of low tide and beach for small children to wade and play. Not the place for large waves (which we preferred). Several small shops around for tourist trinkets. Restaurants more spartan and primarily seafood. One nice bakery. West end of the island was closed due to storm flooding so cannot speak to that. Grocery is about 20 minutes away but a smaller local grocer. Has order ahead options if needed (Greer’s?). Dollar General in the same area. Condo staff (especially night security guard) were especially friendly. Had minor hiccup booking as it did not prompt me to purchase travel insurance at time of booking, but it all got worked out just fine. Just beware if you are desiring to purchase the insurance then you have to do it before you pay in full and it is only available through the realtor listings. We didn’t stop by the bird sanctuary, but we made it to the Estuarium and it was perfect for an hour or two of checking out local sea-life. Again, supremely friendly staff. We also happened to he there the day of an art fair with several “stations” around the town full of artists shocading their wares. Accessible by “trolley” bus. For those interested there is a small skate park, other small kids play park and really nice bike paths through town. All in all, we would definitely go back! Thanks for a fantastic family vacation!

Rental that needs updating

We stayed five nights total and had three issues. The first was that we told the agency we would have four people staying in the unit and were issued two keys, one of which didn't work at all. We arrived on a Sunday and picked up keys from the lockbox across the street. When we went back to the office the next morning to address the key issue, they told us to see the people at the front desk to have our keys re-coded. As an owner to another unit in the building, those people at the front desk work for an opposing rental agency -- it was very unprofessional to expect them to recode keys for this unit. Second issue was that on the second night, in the middle of the night, for no apparent reason, the jacuzzi jets turned on and off by themselves repeatedly. We reported it to the agency but have no idea if they even checked on it while we were there. There were a total of four bath towels in the unit - for four adults for a week. The guest room was shown in the photos as having a single bed and a set of bunks. We arrived to two single beds. Lastly, the mattresses were awful! The master bedroom mattress was so lumpy that it was more like two singles with a big speed bump in the middle of the bed. We are aware that many of the owners at this complex rent on a fairly continuous basis, but this unit is a continuous rental and really needs some maintenance and updating to meet the standard of this complex. Also, according to the HOA, there was supposed to be a list of rules/regulations (pool hours, etc) in the unit and there was none provided.

We loved it, enjoyed the condo immensely, the layout was great, the mattresses were wonderful.

We had a great time, loved the decor and the functionality of the floor plan. The jacuzzi tub got plenty of use, as did the balcony. The Dish network was a great find as well, got to watch my my favorite teams playing and was used to how it operated, same as home. We enjoyed the beach, not as busy as farther east. We have been from Panama City back to Mobile, 1st time for us at Dauphin Island. We will be back, loved the Island Restaurant, kudos to their chef, great specials! Of course we visited the Fort Gaines and road the ferry and shopped at Gulf Shores and Foley. To me the real pleasantries at Dauphin was the pace, it was perfect for us. The folks at the office were very nice and accommodating, as I said my wife and I will be back!

We love Dauphin Island, a wonder of nature and full of history - a barrier island on the Gulf of Mexico . The population is about 1,300. The town is included in the Mobile metropolitan statistical area. The island was named for Louis XIV's great-grandson and heir, the Dauphin. Our 'laid-back' atmosphere is prized by folks who enjoy serenity and natural beauty.

The eastern, wider portion of the island, is shaded by thick stands of maritime pine trees, but the narrow, western part of the island features scrub growth and few trees.

Dauphin Island is home to Fort Gaines, Dauphin Island Sea Lab, The Estuarium public aquarium, the Dauphin Island Airport, boat ramps, a fishing pier located on the Island's eastern end, historic sites, several restaurants. Beaches attract tourism, and fishing is a popular activity in the waters around the island. The island is connected to the mainland by a 3.5 mile long bridge.

Although the entire island is a bird sanctuary, the main one is the 164-acre Audubon Bird Sanctuary. Dauphin Island is the first landfall encountered by many birds as they migrate north from Central and South America, and as a consequence many species can be found resting there before continuing their journey.

In 1519, the Spanish explorer Alonso Álvarez de Pineda was the first documented European to visit, staying long enough to map the island with remarkable accuracy.

The island's French history began on January 31, 1699, when the explorer Pierre Le Moyne, sieur d'Iberville, D'Iberville later decided to locate a port for Fort Louis de La Louisiane (Mobile). Fort Gaines on the eastern tip of the island was built between 1821 and 1848. It was occupied by Confederate forces in 1861, and captured by Federal troops during the Battle of Mobile Bay. The phrase, 'Damn the torpedoes, full speed ahead,' was spoken by U. S. Admiral David Farragut just a few hundred yards from Dauphin Island's shore.

The SUNSETS are fantastic...Dauphin Island is Alabama's 'Sunset Capital' Our homes provide you with an awesome deck overlooking the views to the south, east and west. You are also close to the island-wide bike trail which is great for biking, running, or walking. There are no traffic lights on the island and life is truly low key. This will be the most relaxing vacation you can remember.
