This house was very nice. Communication was excellent. Master bedroom was huge. Very quiet cul-de-sac. Shopping was very close.

After you notified us, we attempted to contact you multiple times and had a technician ready to visit the property. Unfortunately, we were unable to connect until our third outreach, at which point we were able to quickly access the unit and resolve the issue. We understand how frustrating it is to encounter a maintenance problem during your stay and regret the inconvenience. We appreciate your feedback and will continue working to improve both our property and our communication processes.

Disregard what another reviewer said about this home being outdated. The home is very nice and in a beautiful area. Kitchen came well equipped, coffee maker included. Air conditioning was working perfectly. Inside of the home was clean. Biggest gripe would be the back door to the backyard deck was not operable. Wouldve been nice to have easy access to back deck. I made the VRBO owner aware of that but didn't receive a response. Check-in was a little scary. I never received check-in instructions and when I messaged the VRBO owner for possible earlier check-in time, the owner said my check-in was scheduled the next day. Obviously it was not. It's possible the VRBO owner got his days confused. Check-in time was 4pm and still no access code. I had to contact VRBO customer service directly and all was rectified by 4:30. Despite the hiccup, I would not hesitate staying here again. The home served us perfectly and centrally located to Hope Valley Country Club, Duke University and Chapel Hill.

Weekend stay

Lovely home in a quiet neighborhood. The host was extremely accommodating by allowing us a much needed early check in. Would definitely stay again.

The house was conveniently located to the colleges our games were played. It had everything we needed. We were intending to grill out, however the grill needed attention. The neighborhood was quiet and safe. We enjoyed our morning walks before heading to the ballparks. Grocery stores were close as well as a Target.

Things need fixing.

VRBO exit infoThere are a few things in the house that need fixing/addressing. 1. You need a new dishwasher. The repairman said that he had been to the house for the same problem-door won’t open. He said there is no way to fix it. He said to get a new dishwasher and he would install it. 2. The light in the master bedroom fan is out. It needs to be changed. See photo. 3. You need to repair the whole in the floor below the kitchen sink. Air pours out of that area. See photo. 4. The master toilet bubbles when you flush it. Not sure how air is getting in the pipes. See video. 5. The top drawer in the closet needs fixing. We fixed a few things:1. We changed the lightbulb in the master closet. I bought an extra bulb too. 2. We purchased a coffee maker with a pot. We left it and the appropriate filters at the house. 3. We purchased white bath mats for the master bath and we are leaving them. We are leaving soon.

I truly appreciate your honesty and especially the extra effort you took to help out during your stay. I’ve taken note of the dishwasher issue and will move forward with replacing it as advised. I’ll have the lightbulb in the master bedroom fan replaced right away. The hole under the kitchen sink will be repaired promptly – thank you for flagging that. I’ll have a plumber take a look at the bubbling toilet to ensure there are no underlying plumbing issues. I’ll also get the closet drawer fixed. Also, thank you so much for the improvements you made – replacing the closet lightbulb, adding a coffee maker with filters, and leaving the white bath mats for the master bathroom. That was incredibly thoughtful and above and beyond. It was a pleasure hosting you, and I’d be happy to welcome you back anytime!

Overall, our experience at this property was poor.The cleanliness of the property was bad with sticky and gritty surfaces in the kitchen and bathrooms and the dishes, glasses and silverware were put away dirty with food and lip marks visible.Thank you to the person who told them to replace the dishwasher since that does work.Also thanks to the person who had the AC fixed.Otherwise, there is poor lighting in all of the rooms and even no lighting at all in the office.The toilet in the master bath has a broken seat and still bubbles. The toilet in the hall bath upstairs is loose and needs to be bolted back down.The 2 sofas in the den are broken and the carpets are filthy. Many broken blinds. The taped down light switches and on the alarm system rather than using guards is messy.If 6 people were going to stay, there were not enough towels.A picture in the master bedroom fell off the wall while we were at work as it was placed with 3M strips. Fortunate it didn't fall while we were sleeping as I could have been injured as it was on the wall right next to the side of the bed.The house itself is fine but the overall maintenance is sorely lacking. They use only one cleaner who came with a small bag of cleaning supplies.Finally, communication is OK.The cost of the house is overpriced for the conditions that you will stay in despite the size, good location, and quiet neighborhood.

The house and property were amazing! The weather wasn’t great so we had to spend a good chunk of the weekend inside but it didn’t even matter because there were so many activities to keep us entertained, inside and out! The kitchen was well stocked, and had the nice touch of a free bag of coffee for us. Lastly, we got to watch the show Hunting Wives while we were there (was filmed at this house) and it truly felt like we were a part of the show (minus some of the more scandalous scenes iykyk). One of the best friend reunions we’ve had! Would highly recommend to any group of 15-22 people.
