Lovely Space; Rejuvenating Pass times

Such a lovely, cozy space; lots of character with elegant touches. Eager to get back in the fall sometime to take in the coziness of the woodstove. The kids enjoyed the bunk beds and the blind in the kids room actually kept the room dark and the kids slept in! No greater joy than that!

Getaway in Eugenia

This was a beautiful home. It had a well equipped kitchen and was very spacious. We enjoyed the beautiful deck, the campfire and the hot tub. It was so nice to be surrounded by nature. The home was also very clean and our hostess Marcia was easy to be in touch with.

Perfect Home Away From Home

Everything was nice, the older feel made it feel different than just being at home with all the bells and whistles, you had heat when you needed it and cool fans when you needed that. Kitchen, washroom, rooms and hot tub were respectable too. No complaints, the host was a blast too. It is really close to many attractions in the area, be it Wasaga, Blue Mountain, etc. Things to do in bad weather and places to go in good weather. 10/10

Cozy spot for a late October getaway

The cottage is spacious, hot tub was a huge bonus and the property itself is really lovely. The trails were fun to explore. I think a bit of repair work is in order however, the patio door was almost impossible to open and close and some areas of rot in the deck (especially around the hot tub) should be fixed. I also felt that it could have been cleaner considering what we payed in cleaning fees. There were smudges and fingerprints all over the windows and doors and a pretty musty odour when we first arrived. Wifi didn’t work at all during our stay. Expected a little more for the price.

Perfect winter escape

We had a completely perfect week at the Red House this past week. It is a beautiful home with incredible natural light and space. There are many comforts, including a wood-burning stove, a lovely forested and private property, a quiet landscape and all the amenities. There are great hiking spots close by. A highly recommended vacation spot. We would definitely return.

Amazing winter weekend away.

This private and comfortable house was a great place for our friends and us to stay. The property is nestled in the woods and creates a real feeling of escape. We had everything we needed for cooking and the open concept design made the living space amazing. Beds were comfortable and we all slept like the dead after all the hustle and bustle of the city. We’re already talking about booking this place again further into the winter.

Very Quiet Weekend Getaway

Nicely laid out cottage, beautiful views out the wall of windows. Saw birds in the bird feeders. Enjoyed the relaxing hot tub. The bed was so comfy, I didn't want to get in the morning to start the fire. Went for many walks around the property and a nice hike down the road at "Old Bauldy". Would love to come again for another weekend some time.

Beautiful cottage for a peaceful respite

We stayed in the Red House cottage for 8 days and had a wonderful time! It was very private and quiet. The kitchen had all the amenities. We used the grill frequently and enjoyed the view from the deck. The dogs loved wandering the woods on.the property. I really appreciated the firm mattresses!! The location is great. We went into Flesherton frequently to check out the local shops. It has a thriving art community which we really appreciated!! The locals were very kind, helpful and interesting folk! The Bruce trail is easily accessed, with amazing hiking trails that are well marked and include beautiful Eugenia Falls and Hogg Falls. We were also close enough to Georgian Bay to check.out some of the beaches and small towns. Highlights were Peasemarch Conservation area and Hibou Conservation area. As a side note, I really appreciated that the owner really welcomed having our dogs stay. There was also a compost bin which was great as well. We had a wonderful stay at the Red House!!

Cute, comfortable

We had an amazing stay! My ONLY 4 star was location but it wasn’t because it was “too far” or anything like that. It was very close to the beach and not very far of a drive to even more beaches and the falls are extremely beautiful and close by aswell! The only downside was that it was in a heavily treed area which had a lotttt of mosquitos, so during the day there wasn’t a lot of hanging out outside of the cottage unless we went off property. Not the fault of the owners or anything it’s just nature, I had just thought we would be laying out and playing games in the yard during the day. At night the bugs are fine because we lit the firepit and smoked them out! Gorgeous view of the stars above the pit area too :)

The Red House was an excellent cottage!

We stayed over Easter weekend in April, and knew in advance the weather wouldn't necessarily agree with us. It rained during our entire stay, but we still managed to hike the Bruce Trail (very close to the property), enjoy the hot tub, and stay cozy inside with the wood stove. The wood stove and the hot tub truly made the weekend. Overall, our two nights were relaxing and enjoyable. We would definitely stay at the Red House again. It must be even better when the sun is shining and you can enjoy the deck outside!

Had a great time at the Red House!

This place is really nestled in a small patch of woods and is very private. We had a wonderful weekend and being able to have a morning hot tub after coffee, and an evening hot tub to relax after a long hike was really great! The beds are very comfortable and the woodstove throws off a lot of heat - it kept us cozy on a night where the temperature dropped to 5 degrees. The owners were very reachable and helpful.

A wonderful spot to find some peace

The Red House was a great spot for my friends and I to unwind on a rainy weekend. The Flying Chestnut - a 4 minute drive away - was an excellent recommendation for dinner. The woodstove was wonderful, and we were stocked with ample wood to keep us warm throughout the weekend. Great space for socializing and we were all comfortable. Thank you for having us!

Cozy Cabin

Wonderful stay at the Red House! Clean, bright and spacious, the cabin feels like a home away from home. We visited last year and loved it so much we came back! Enjoyed walking our dog in the snowy forest behind the house. Lots of birdsong and deer tracks along the trails! Hot tub, fireplace, and gorgeous tall windows made the Red House a perfect winter getaway.

Quiet and secluded

This is a lovely spot surrounded by a cedar forest, an easy walk to Eugenia Falls. Looks like there have recently been some updates/renovations to the house, but a few things remain to be done. The sliding glass doors to the deck need to be replaced (the owner had advised us that it was best not to use the big door out to the BBQ as it comes off it’s tracks, and I didn’t want to be the one to break it permanently). Apparently the doors are on order. Hopefully there will be screens as well, as the mosquitoes swarm at certain times of day. We weren’t able to open any windows in the main living area because they were covered in plastic, but windows in the bedrooms were all operational with screens. The oven also broke just before we arrived, but the BBQ is relatively new, just in need of a scrub. Highlights were the hot tub (very clean and actually hot!) and a very nice fire pit with views of the stars at night. A great spot if you want to hike the Bruce Trail.
