Wedding house for the fam

Our son was getting married in Los Olivos and we found this gem of a home close to all the events. It was two parents, two adult daughters and their boyfriends, my mother and our best friend couple from Orange County. Everyone had lots of room and the pool was the favorite place to be as it was toasty warm during our stay in August. Los Olivos was a 8 minute drive, Sant Ynez was a 3 minute drive and Solvang was probably 10 minutes. However, Solvang was super busy with traffic and congested sidewalks. I remember it as a lot more sleepy last time I was there 30 years ago. Anyway, the house had large rooms, nice bathrooms and a wonderful kitchen. Sitting area outside with a grill and a pool bathroom was nice, too. All in all, a perfect place for the family to hang out and centrally located to all the events:Bridal shower, Golf and rehearsal dinner at The AlisalDudes breakfast at The CroqueWedding at Matties Tavern in Los Olivos

Great family friendly house

We had a great time at casa calzada. The house was so spacious. The pool, hot tub and outdoor games were super fun. Everything was just as advertised. Very clean and easy to use.

Great getaway!

We stayed here for a wedding in the Santa Ynez area and it was PERFECT! A 5 minute drive to anywhere we wanted, but also the property had the most amazing outdoor space so we had the greatest time relaxing by the pool and sitting in the sun or the shade.

Beautiful Calzada Home

We just stayed at this wonderful property in Santa Ynez and had an incredible experience. The location is ideal—everything is within a 5–10 minute drive, and you can even walk to the main Santa Ynez area for coffee or a bite to eat.The home itself was exactly what we needed. Each room was a good size with plenty of storage, and the house was spacious enough to comfortably accommodate our group of seven adults.The backyard was a highlight—featuring a beautiful pool and jacuzzi, a great hangout and dining area, and several spots for games, including a bocce ball court. You really couldn’t ask for more in terms of amenities.We’ll definitely be looking to rent this property again in the future.P.S. The checkout instructions were refreshingly simple—just place towels in the laundry room, start the dishwasher, and throw away trash and any leftover food. Compared to other rentals with over-the-top rules, this was a welcome change.

Excellent property.

Very nicely laid out property, with a lovely patio, convenient pool and hot tub right outside so members of the party could swim and still be part of the festivities. Plenty of sunny spots and a nice covered and heated shelter if you don't want sun. Well equipped kitchen and nice dining area. Big formal sitting room if you need it...the casual dining area adjacent to the kitchen was enough for us.Only problem was getting the fire pit to light. It was a bit tricky and we couldn't use it. I would also say the beds are set high (I estimate over 3 ft. in the main bedroom) so if you are over 65 like some of us you have to climb up into bed. Could have used a stepstool!.All told, I would have no problems with booking again if we re-visit the area.Thanks.

Great Stay for Families with older kids

We really enjoyed our stay which was perfect for families with the cute loft upstairs and a fun backyard! The kitchen was lovely for cooking with two options for dining areas. We loved the location and proximity to Solvang for activities (ziplining, ostriches, escape room) and Santa Ynez for wine tasting and restaurants. Thank you!

Great Thanksgiving retreat!

Our family group loved staying here for Thanksgiving! We had lots of space to relax in and do different activities both inside and outside the hacienda! The kitchen was super well-equipped for cooking our Thanksgiving dinner and everyone enjoyed the relaxing outdoor spaces, games, and views. We will definitely be back if we're staying in the area!

Amazing stay

Such a fantastic rental property! It was perfect for all three generations of our family. Between the pool and hot tub, foosball table, bocce court, and indoor and outdoor furniture galore, there was something to keep everyone happy. Also came with all the things you need to live life - so many towels, blankets, kitchen and grill supplies - we weren't in need of anything. And a bonus - the house was in a quiet location with easy access to all the local towns. Fantastic trip, thank you!!

Great Place

We had a wonderful stay at Casa Calzada. The place is in a great location. Very private. The lot is on a corner and there’s so much room that you really don’t notice any neighbors. The house was very well stocked with anything and everything you might need. Very clean and well-kept up. The backyard was amazing. We spent most of the time at the pool and in the hot tub. Was very happy with our stay. Definitely will come back in the future. Check in process was very easy.

Casa Calzada

We spent a weekend in this lovely property with our family celebrating our 50th Wedding Anniversary. The property is very clean and well equipped with a lovely yard, heated pool and hot tub. It is in a quiet neighborhood and we had a great time. The only problem was initially with the property manager who had not responded to our emails or phone messages five days before our arrival. We finally received the arrival instructions which were very clear two days before arrival . On our arrival day we received an email informing us it was ok to bring a dog and a person we did not know. This caused us a lot of stress as we thought the house had been double booked. She did not respond to our emails or phone calls and after contacting VRBO, who were also unable to contact her, we were assured there was not a problem with the booking. We finally heard from her a couple of hours later that she had confused the bookings. In summary it would be very helpful if the property manager had responded more promptly to our email and phone calls. We did eventually find that texting got a quicker response. This would have saved us a lot of stress and frustration.
