Our stay at this Cardiff home was absolutely wonderful. The space was spotless, beautifully curated, and thoughtfully designed for comfort. Every detail—from the décor to the amenities—made us feel at home. A true gem that we’d happily return to!

Trifecta - Excellent Host, Location, & Property

Our daughter now lives in San Diego, so we visit her quarterly and always take our dog with us. We have rented multiple times in the Encinitas area and we are very happy that we tried the Sunset House in Cardiff. Nicole was easy to work with and also very helpful during our stay. The location was great for us as we can take our dog to the dog beach at Cardiff and also good for walking to Lagoon and/or to Rail Trail (good for jogging as well) -- also 5 min drive in either direction to Encinitas or Solana Beach downtowns so super easy for great restaurants and shopping. The property itself has been totally redone and has a relaxing deck with perfect views of Pacific Ocean and sunsets. Highly recommend!!

We loved our stay at Sunset House. It felt just like home. We were there for our son's college graduation from SDSU. A family of five with three adult boys. We loved relaxing on the porch and watching the sunset, watching the Red Sox play in the living area, enjoying cocktails and apps each evening prior to our reservations. We walked to Pacific Coast Grill one night. After an 8am graduation we cooked up a brunch in the well equipped kitchen and enjoyed sitting around the dining room table recapping the morning events and planning the rest of the day. We walked the beach, dipped into the Pacific and played frisbee on the beach. The boys all played golf on Saturday and my sister and I enjoyed a local coffee shop and then lounging on the porch catching up. My boys loved hanging in the hot tub at night and it made this mom's heart so happy to hear them chatting with each other since they all live in different parts of the country. The beds are comfortable and the house is well stocked with all the bathroom and kitchen essentials. We shopped at nearby Sunset Market which has delicious fruits, veggies, meats and a great selection of cheese and wine. We highly recommend staying at Sunset House for your trip to Cardiff by the Sea. Nicole could not be more accommodating and was a text away if needed but she had everything covered.
