Stay away during hurricane season
The night before our stay Hurricane Beryl made a last minute shift towards Houston. While not knowing that the whole city would be without power for a while, my family and I were still hopeful and made our way towards Houston after the storm passed. Long before arrival, I reached out to the host the ensure the home was safe to still go to. The host didn’t respond to me until it was time to check in… informing me that the home was NOT CLEANED before my supposed stay and the home was without power. I then informed the host that my family would not stay there without power since we have small children. I asked the host if he’d be willing to provide a refund considering we couldn’t stay because of the hurricane leaving the home without power and all the flooding around town. HE IGNORED ME. Called Vrbo, and they REFUSED a refund too. I then accepted my losses and went else where. A couple days later, I get a message from the host ACCUSING ME of damaging his property and he even opened a damage claim against me… crazy cause I NEVER stayed in his home! Called Vrbo again to tell them and they again REFUSED a refund even tho we couldn’t stay in the home and the host was harassing me about damages I wasn’t even capable of making. They told me to ask the host.. so I did. GOT IGNORED AGAIN. If you're planning to go to Houston, don’t stay at any of this host’s NINE properties because he’s willing to make crazy accusations and NOT work with you during an unexpected natural disaster!!!
