Location, location, location...Attico Arcadia represents the quintessential accommodation in Rome. A stone throw away from major landmarks such as Piazza Navona, Campo de' Fiori and the Pantheon we a sure that your stay in this stunning apartment will remain in your hearts and minds for many years to come.

All of Rome's major landmarks such as Saint Peter's, Piazza Navona, the Pantheon, Piazza di Spagna, the Colosseum, the Roman Forum and Capitol hill can be reached by foot. The high fashion shopping district is only a walk away, the same for the Campo di Fiori farmer's market where you can find fresh fruit and vegetables every day of the week (closed Sundays). The area is also characterized with bustling cafes and restaurants. If you wish to stay at home and enjoy a quiet dinner on the deck overlooking Rome, there is a supermarket just around the corner where you can find all sorts of fine Italian produce. They key attraction of this area is what people refer to as 'hidden Rome'. Walk out from the apartment and take the little side alleys that characterize this Medieval part of the city where you will discover hidden squares featuring buildings with stunning architecture. Most museums are now open on Sundays, the Capitolini museum, the Vatican museum, the Galleria Doria-Pamphili and the Galleria Borghese (must book online) can all be reached on foot. And after visiting the latter why not enjoy a stroll in the Villa Borghese park from where you can reach the Picio with its breathtaking views of Rome. From the apartment you can also cross the Tiber river and enter Trastevere with its bustling nightlife, here you will find the best restaurants such as Le Mani in Pasta in Via dei Genovesi and lots of bars and cafes. The best truffle ice creams are just down stairs in Piazza Navona at the Tre Scalini bar. The best brunch or proper English breakfast (waffles, pancakes, french toast) can only be found at Babington's on the Spanish Steps. On the way back why not stop off at Valentino or Armani's and treat yourself to something new. For sure staying at Attico Arcadia will be memorable.

Perfect spot in an always amazing city

  • 5 of 5

A great apartment for both newcomers to Rome and those who have loved the city for years. Location is wonderful, within walking distance of many sights (the Pantheon, Vatican, Piazza Navona, even Trastevere) and near to many reasonably priced restaurants (Mimi e Coco around the corner, for example). 20-25 minute walk to Colosseo metro stop (and/or a taxi stand nearby, as well). The apartment itself has an interesting three-level design and is well-equipped and comfortable (excellent wifi, for example) -- with a glorious balcony for enjoying a fifth-floor view (in a building with an elevator to get you to that fifth floor!).

Comfort and Location

  • 4 of 5

We stayed six nights in this comfortable and very well-located apartment in the Campo di Fiori/Navona area of Rome. The Historical Center, the Travestere, and the Jewish ghetto are easily reached on foot. For longer journeys, a taxi stand is conveniently located within a block or so of the apartment. The apartment is on the fifth floor (there is a lift), well above the street noise. The only sounds we really heard were the calling of the seagulls and Sunday mass softly wafting over from St. Peter's. The terrace is a nice feature that offers a panoramic view across Rome's rooftops and brings light and openess to the small apartment. A sweet and fluffy Burrmese (?) cat from the apartment below may choose to grace you with her presence. After two weeks of travel, we really appreciated the washing machine. (No dryer, but clothes line-dry quickly on the breezy terrace.) The owner states in the description that the apartment is not suitable for very young children, the elderly and anyone with a mobility issue,. I would like to add that anyone having a glass of wine too many may also be at risk! The apartment is cleverly laid out on three levels, but with no handrails or barriers to prevent tumbles. I gave this four stars because the apartment no longer looks exactly like the photos. It has obviously been through a lot a renters and could do with a serious re-fresh. For example: the white sofa in the kitchen area has been replaced with a less spiffy but more serviceable green one; the handsome cushioned lounge chairs on the terrace are nowhere to be found; the window coverings have come detached from their fasteners; the nice white upholstered chairs are somewhat spotted; it would be nice to have newer, matching towels. Last but not least, it was off-putting to find a half-eaten container of ice-cream in the freezer.

In spite of these criticisms, let me conclude by saying that we had a very comfortable (forgot to mention the very comfortable bed!) and happy stay. The excellent location makes this worth consideration.

Perfect location, lovely view

  • 5 of 5

I stayed two weeks in this apartment and loved it. The view out the patio was one reason I booked this flat and it was well worth it. You can watch the sunset and the lights on nearby cathedrals come on while relaxing in the overstuffed chair. Near the end of my stay the weather was warm enough to enjoy some time out on the patio.

The other main reason I selected this flat is for the location, and that was outstanding, too. Literally twenty steps from the outside door you are on a wonderful street lined with restaurants, bars, bookshops, a gelato shop, everything you could want. I really enjoyed walking along it in the evening when it was all lit up. The apartment stayed surprisingly quiet given that it was so close to all these businesses.

If you walk a block away, you get to a taxi stand where you can always find a taxi waiting (unless there's a strike!). A block a slightly different direction and you are in Piazza Navona where you can have lots of free space to stroll both day and night, enjoy the fountains, go inside the beautiful church, and eat at one of the outdoor cafes.

Go a couple blocks south and you will find Campo di Fiori, a fun outdoor market open every day with fresh produce, hats, scarves, handbags, spices, cheese, olive oil, souvenirs. There are also restaurants, bakeries, and offshoot streets with shopping.

Alex made it easy for me to check in and out of the flat, and everything was clean and as advertised. I was able to keep the place at a comfortable temperature for myself with the wall unit in the bedroom and the space heater downstairs.

I was very happy to see a Nespresso machine there, and immediately visited the Nespresso shop near the Spanish Steps to buy coffee pods. The only additional thing I wished the flat had was a microwave oven for reheating things. The kitchen is very small but I still managed to do a fair amount of cooking.

This is a great place for able adults. It is not appropriate for children (too many places they can easily fall and hit their heads) or for people with mobility issues (stairs to kitchen, bedroom/bathroom). For me, the bed and pillows were uncomfortable - very hard. I think others would find them just fine.

It is an easy walk to the Vatican, the Trastevere area, Trevi fountain, Spanish Steps, Colosseum. Also, I took a pasta making class that was very fun and was only a block away from the flat.

Summary: Wonderful location, gorgeous view!

Home away from Home

  • 5 of 5

Thank you Alex, for allowing us to use your home for our Rome "Home away from home".

The apartment is very centrally situated, on a very quiet narrow street, in a historical setting.

We spent 9 days there - daily walking to all the various sites that a tourist wants to see - and many that tourists don't get to see!

We purchased fresh fruit, yogurt, cheese etc at the nearby market for breakfasts in the apartment.

At the end of the day, on returning home, close to the front door are welcoming restaurants/cafes/wine bars (special mention to Cantina and Cuccino, and Mimi e Coco.)

Unfortunately for us it was too cold to make use of the outdoor space at the apartment, however the wall of glass allowed us to take in the beautiful view, with St Peter's Basillica dome in the distance, from inside.

The one problem we had, the power went out, we were quickly able to contact Alex by phone and the problem was quickly rectified by a neighbour who came to our aid.

Thanks again Alex, I would not hesitate to recommend the apartment, and would happily stay there again.

Old-World Charm In A Fabulous Location

  • 5 of 5

This apartment is extremely comfortable, very clean, well-stocked, and in a great location. It is small, but laid out quite cleverly on two-and-a-half levels, so it doesn't feel cramped. The bed is clean and very comfortable. The balcony has an interesting view and a very private feel. We were even treated to a surprise visit on the balcony by a beautiful cat who, apparently, lives in a neighboring apartment. Go downstairs to the charming cobblestone street, turn either direction, and find yourself within steps of a plethora of restaurants, shopping options, a bank, a very good grocery, ice cream shops, produce markets, and endless people-watching. You don't need a car at all. This apartment is located in a very vibrant area, yet after a day of fun in Rome, you can cozy up in your quiet little nest. I highly recommend this apartment and will stay here again for sure.

Fabulous apartment

  • 5 of 5

I often work in Rome so I've stayed in many apartments. This one has unfathomable charm. The bedroom and bathroom are up in a loft area accessed by a few steps. The kitchen is sunken below. The whole apartment is bathed in sunlight all day. Alex has perfectly equipped the apartment so you don't need to dash out for soap before you can even shower. The kitchen is fully provisioned so, should you choose to, cooking is easy. But the area is filled with restaurants and life so you can easily eat out walking a few steps. The most amazing feature is the balcony. I spent every evening outside enjoying the cool Roman nights trying to burn the unequaled view into my brain.
