Hi Michelle, our sweet cleaner usually does an awesome job - she's a sweetheart and cares very much about making it special for our guests - she's seriously like a member of our family. We appreciate the head's up - we've just chatted with her to make sure everything is 110%. Thanks so much. :)

Amazing Stay - Close to the Mountain

If you are looking for a secluded feel that isn’t a condo or townhome “in town”, this is a great place to stay near Crested Butte! Private hot tub, functional fireplace, 3 separate bedrooms, great views. Can’t wait to come back!

Great time in Crestted Butte

My wife and I had a great stay in this cabin. Owner put a lot of thoughtful little touches that were appreciated. Stargazing from the hot tub was awesome and the new patio was a really nice space to relax in we would be happy to come back the next time we are in crested butte

Thanks Dominic! The stars from the hot tub are KILLER, aren't they? We have one of the "darkest skies" in the state and Crested Butte does a really good job of limiting light pollution so it stays that way. So happy you loved the ranch - hope to see ya again.

Peaceful and rustic

We loved our stay at John’s ranch. The cabin itself is very cozy and comfortable. We loved the fireplace and the private hot tub. The location lends itself to a private and peaceful stay, while just a few minutes from CB.

Hi Sarah, Thanks so much for the 5-star review! We're so happy you loved your time here. It is definitely a historic cabin! We've worked hard to make it just "modern" enough to be comfortable while retaining it's character and rustic charm. A good reminder for folks who are looking for new construction - this is definitely not it! But if you're looking to experience a little piece of history, this is your place. Come back & see us again!

The cabin is wonderful; it is only about a five-minute drive from Crested Butte and about thirty minutes away from Gunnison. So, the cabin seemed to have the best of everything for a Crested Butte trip. It is close enough to Crested Butte to easily go into town for anything you want, and it is close enough to gain access to any hike you might want to go on pretty quickly. If you need to get some shopping done or get cheaper groceries, then it is not that far away from Gunnison. And the cabin is on a ranch off the highway, so it is relatively isolated, and the scenery is amazing! We enjoyed relaxing at the cabin as much as we enjoyed going into town, going on hikes, and everything else we did. We definitely want to come back in the future!

Beautiful cabin with incredible views of Mt. Crested Butte and only about 12 minutes from downtown. We came specifically for a dirt bike & mountain bike trip, and the cabin was the perfect launching pad for access to all of the pristine single track in the area (Taylor Park, Teocalli, etc). Highly recommend star gazing here as well, the stars are incredible!

Perfect Ski Cabin

We had an amazing stay for a ski weekend in Crested Butte! The location was ideal, just a short drive to town and the resort while still being secluded with breathtaking views. After a full day on the slopes, the hot tub was the perfect way to unwind. The cabin was well equipped with everything we needed, and the host was incredibly responsive, making our stay seamless. We would absolutely stay here again!

Great home, kitchen and dining areas. We loved the beautiful post and beam structure of the house. Patio area was wonderful and enjoyed the wildlife sightings of 3 bucks but not so much the mouse in the house. The shower pressure was extremely low but great to have two bathrooms and the laundry. A warning sign on the stairway would be helpful regarding low head bump area. Location was great from Crested Butte and we enjoyed our stay.

So glad you guys enjoyed our spot Kevin. Glad you got to see the bucks, thanks for the heads up about the other furry critter. This time of year we do see him now and again. We have professionals on the case. Because we're on a well, some of the fixtures can get clogged up with the mineralization. I just ordered a couple new shower heads that should arrive this week. Thanks so much for the heads up. And thanks for the kind review. You guys are welcome back anytime.

We had a wonderful stay at this refurbished cabin on average for a few days. The weather was variable with rain and cold to sunny and cool. We were able to enjoy the place in all weather using the fireplace and the hot tub. We had a small herd of mule deer we watched in the morning and evenings. We were able to cook several meals with a well stocked kitchen with a lot of spices and oils provided. They even provided fresh ground coffee for the drip pot to enjoy on the new patio. Lots of birds in the area and eagles and hawks. The pace is above the Slate River. Beds are comfortable and plenty of linens and towels were provided. It’s a short drive to CB and beyond for hiking fishing and hanging out. Hats off to CB for good food and drinks. Thanks to a great host that was responsive. We will be back next time in the Denver area.
