AMAZING ocean front views, the perfect beach house. Very clean. We enjoyed playing board games that were available in the living room. The wrap around porch is wonderful. The kitchen is VERY WELL STOCKED. The walk to the beach was so nice. We love being able to have our pet visit. We had originally expected to have 2 dogs staying with us. They ended up not coming, but the host was very accommodating in letting my sister's dog (local dog) come visit on Friday.

Classic beach cottage

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We loved staying at Sand By Me. Great location on a nice, quiet, one-way street. Just a short stroll down the beach to the Oceanic restaurant and pier (which we walked to every morning). The cottage is very nice, plenty of room for the 10 of us. The wrap-around porch was a great plus, with a nice breeze, and the sound of the ocean to add to the evening enjoyment. We will definitely stay here again!

Location Great, but everything else OK

The Good: This location is awesome, the outside living space was amazing. Water views from both sides of the wrap around deck. Beach access. The check in/out process is easy. The Bad: There’s a window AC in the downstairs master, it wasn’t cooling so we pulled the filter and there was measurable dust, it hadn’t been cleaned in years. The main AC unit was struggling as well so we pulled that filter and it was the same thing. Plus there were seashells in it (the return is in the floor of the dining room). The floors in the house are just like your off-campus house in college, uneven and needing attention. The flooring needs fixed in the kitchen and they did it with clear packing tape. It’s unleveled and prevents the back door from opening all the way due to the floor bowing. 2/3 bathrooms are ensuites and that leaves you one community bathroom upstairs, made showering difficult at night or in the morning bc of others sleeping. Another big issues is that the community bathroom door doesn’t lock. We had to put a chair behind it to act as a lock. Also the upstairs bedroom doors didn’t lock either. There’s one trash cart outside, but unfortunately ours was already half full before we arrived. We had to haul some of our trash away not to incur charges. The neighboring properties have two cans/carts which is better especially with 11 people in the house. We felt like maintenance people about as much as we felt we were enjoying a few days at the beach. With all of the money this property owner is making, it would be nice if they invested some back in to the property, it would go a long way. So the good is the location and the bad is the house.

Great Property that needs some added comfort

The house and location are absolutely amazing. The main living area, double refrigerators, parking, and outdoor areas are almost perfect for a house that sleeps 11. The one upgrade that everyone that stayed said is needed are the mattresses. We could not find a single one that anyone would want to sleep in again. The plus to getting no sleep because the beds were uncomfortable was that we didn’t miss a sunrise which is where the true value of this property lies.

Wonderful Stay

We had a wonderful time at this charming old cottage. It was perfect for our family and had more then enough space. The covered beach front porch was perfect for the sunny days and also let the kids get outside during the rainy ones! The kitchen was full of everything we needed and this house has the rare double water view with the intracoastal right across the street beyond an empty lot. We can’t wait to book our trip back next year!

Great location and house was very well equipped w everything that we needed.

Great house and location- very well stocked and nice touch providing all towels ( including beach towels) beach chairs and bikes. Furniture somewhat old and slip covers could use a cleaning. Upstairs shower didn’t have have hot water. Other then those few things it was a very accommodating house.

Beauty and the beast

Great house, beautiful location in a charming town. The only negative we encountered was the quality of the beds as the mattresses seemed old and extremely uncomfortable. Besides some back pain, sciatica flair ups and ibuprofen ingestion it was a terrific weekend!

Perfect for family getaway

We had a great time celebrating Thanksgiving at this sweet beach cottage. The location could not be beat! Water views from the front and back of the house! The house was fully stocked with kitchen supplies so cooking for Thanksgiving was easy. I really liked this quiet section of Wrightsville. Plenty of space for our family and our dog!

Classic beach cottage

We loved our stay at Sand By Me. The house was plenty big enough for the 10 of us. The location is great! Sits on a quiet one-way street, just a short walk down the beach to the Oceanic restaurant and pier. The wraparound porch is a great plus, with a nice ocean breeze, and the sound of the ocean surf to make it even better. We will definitely stay there again.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We had 10 family members gather at the house to celebrate a high school graduation. We knew the home was older and over all we were pleased. The kitchen is extremely small but well equipped. The dining room table was big enough but chairs need to be replaced immediately. We had to do some repairs on them so that they were safe. The porch was a highlight but needs new furniture. I think there just needs to be some refurbishing of dining room, den and porch furniture. Doesn’t look like there have been any improvements done in years.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Stand by Me is perfect for a no-frills stay st the beach. It’s best features are it’s beautuful wrap around porch and location. The house is more spacious than expected however, old and room flow is disjointed. Showers are very small. Kitchen well stocked, but small. 2 refrigerators and an overflow room provide good storage. Traci from the rental department was great and easy to work with, but communicating with the rental company in general wasn’t easy, as emails weren’t returned. Best to call and reach Traci directly. We’d definitely consider using it again.

If you are looking for a traditional beach home that has been well-cared for and maintained, this is NOT the one. Most furnishings - indoor and outdoor - were shabby and mattresses were of poorest quality. This house was definitely not worth the money.
