We had an amazing time over the July 4th holiday. This is a special place for those who want to connect with nature and enjoy a peaceful day on the water. We were close enough to Middlebury to stop in for an iced coffee, and there are wonderful farm stands along the way. We had a great time.

Thanks Kate. You did the Vermont thing just right!!
This rental was cozy, picturesque, and quiet. We were never wishing for more. I loved the shower tub and thought the set up was amazingly unique. We loved the privacy at the little beach and spent hours there reading, sky gazing, and kayaking. Our stay at the cottage was relaxed, content, and memorable. We highly recommend The Lemon Fair Sculpture Park in Shoreham for a wondrous little field trip!

Weatherly, so glad I was around to say hi and meet you two. It means a lot to me when special people appreciate unique!!
Wonderful spot if you are looking for peaceful relaxation and natural beauty. Nightlife here means watching the sunset over the lake, reading a chapter or two of the book you've been chilling with all day, then turning in by 8PM! This eclectic little house was perfect for us and our pups; Laurel was accommodating and supportive when we sprung our last-minute additional rescue dog on her and Gabby greatly enjoyed her stay! Loved the bald eagle flyovers on wonderfully cool mornings; great A/C is available, but we rarely used it since opening the windows did the trick. Laurel immediately responded to and rectified a small issue and we were appreciative. Looking forward to our return sooner rather than later!

Susan, you and your pups were gracias guests and good people to boot. Glad the pups had some squirrel chasing time!!

Wonderful location right on Lake Champlain
Laurel is an excellent host, and the cottage is very comfortable.
Our stay was a delight. The cottage was everything we thought it would be and more--cozy, quirky, and thoroughly relaxing. The lake and all the views are beautiful. Laurel was helpful and friendly if we needed anything. We highly recommend it!
Absolutely beautiful. Spent the week relaxing and reconnecting. Snake mountain was a great hike with stunning view. Visited many of the cute neighboring towns. Just what we needed
Secluded, great lake location, only downfall is the smell from local farms. Had great time fishing on the kayaks, amazing sunsets, sitting by the lake with fire and wine.

oh dear, yes, they spread 4 times a year and for a few days after each spread, it's farm farm farm! You caught a bad few days. I hear ya but I guess that's the price we pay for enjoying ice cream!

A perfect getaway location.
The property was everything I expected. The location on the water was amazing and the house/owner provided everything you could ever want. (except a microwave)

Oh dear, the microwave is in the closet on the shelf!!! !! Everybody finds it because that's where the dishes are!! XXX Will post a note!
The Bookhouse is all you could want in a getaway. It’s cozy to be sure (good size for two people and a pup). But it has views to die for of Champlain and the Adirondacks. The water access is great. The place is very comfortable (with a great porch). And Bridport is a perfect base for exploring the region. Best of all, Laurel is a superb host. We had a fantastic stay and we can’t wait to get back soon!

Perfect guests, wonderful people! Great to meet you both.....
this little cabin is so sweet! Full of great books and everything you need. The owners is so kind and pulled out all the stop to make our slightly-rainy weekend as nice as possible, even coming out to help us with a water issue in the evening and so generous all around. The location is great, a short drive to anything you need but far away enough to not hear many cars.
We loved spending our days out on the deck reading with the view! Not to mention the kayaks. Laurel was a wonderful host, so responsive. Thanks again!!
We had a nice 3-day stay at this little cabin. It's very charming and the views of the lake were very special. It is tiny - and as the listing explains, this is a cabin meant for just a couple of people who don't mind being cozy. Laurel is a great host and had a lot of great resources and references for us. Thank you Laurel!
We had the most relaxing and peaceful few days at Laurel's cottage. We spent most of our time lakeside, reading, swimming, kayaking, or floating. Definitely recommend spending as much time as possible at the cottage itself for ultimate relaxation, but also be sure to spend time in Middlebury and Vergennes - two of the cutest little towns in VT. Laurel was wonderful in every way. We can't wait to come back!

I should be responding to sweet reviews like this one, so I will start with THIS one. Terrific to have you guys. And your beautiful Atticus.
So wonderful to escape built environments! You can spend your entire stay outdoors, on the porch or swimming, kayaking, etc. My mind slowed to a mellow pace within 30 minutes of arriving. And the owner, Laurel, is delightful. Helpful while completely unobtrusive.
My son and I just returned from a five night stay at Laurel's charming lake retreat. The description is spot-on and the cabin includes all the essentials needed for a relaxing stay. The cabin is beautifully placed on the shore of Lake Champlain and includes all the amenities you would need for water activities and outdoor dining. Laurel was very responsive and available start to finish and really bent over backwards to insure our stay was perfect. Couldn't be happier with the rental and look forward to the day we can return.

although I am down the hill, hidden from view, I loved hearing you guys laughing on the porch or out in the kayaks! Laughter mixed in with the bird calls and the wind in the trees is, for me, joyful, and reminded me of the fun I had in youth, here with family that are all now gone. Thanks for bringing life and laughter back to this little paradise!
Fantastic!! Host was awesome! Beautiful view on the Lake, Places to walk and close by.
A place to rest and have fun. Warm and cozy! Loved the atmosphere.
Will go back in warmer weather to take advantage of the many amenities of the Lake and area.
Better than a 5 star hotel.
Romantic and charming shall sum it up. Very basic. Which we loved.
