Arrêtez! Vous avez atteint votre destination. DECKS à gogo! Ne manquez pas ce cottage de plage unique situé dans la prestigieuse communauté de Cotton Patch Hills à North Bethany (bloc océan). Ce charmant cottage de plage avec 4 chambres et plus est propre, confortable, plein de charme et dispose de 3 salles de bain complètes ainsi que d’une très grande douche extérieure et d’un dressing. Master suite (Reine olympique - nécessite des draps de taille king). Toutes les chambres à l'étage ont accès à l'un des nombreux ponts. La chambre du rez-de-chaussée comprend 2 lits jumeaux et 2 autres lits jumeaux ou un lit king. Tous les lits sont de haute qualité et très confortables. À l'extérieur: Grande allée avec un grand parking, une douche extérieure, deux terrasses enveloppantes, une terrasse bien exposée, un coin barbecue / salon, un porche avec moustiquaire et un chemin d'accès à la plage! Tennis communautaire et accès à la marina (côté ouest), alors apportez votre bateau !. Les draps et les serviettes ne sont pas fournis mais sont disponibles moyennant des frais supplémentaires. Great beach experience

Wilgus was quick to fix a broken fridge and offer ice and coolers (we already had these). While the house was rustic it was in a great location and we did not have to fight anyone for a beach spot. There was a slight oil smell on the garage /pingpong/ 1family bed floor.

Thank you for writing a review. We apologize for the "oil" smell in the garage. Sadly, gas and oil are needed for lawn care. Hopefully none gets spilled this year!

Older house, strong smell, beautiful beach

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was clean. I was more than happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: As mentioned in the contract, there is a strong smell in the lower level--to us the garage and ping-pong room smelled strongly of varnish, and the lower bedroom and bathroom had a strong chemical cleaner smell. Leaving the lower windows open helped somewhat, but we ended up avoiding use of those rooms. If you rent, I suggest you ask to see the report that indicates no danger with these smells. Positive aspects are secluded paths to beach not on the roads, beach cart one nice umbrella and many beach chairs and boogie boards. A personal peeve is that the house seems cluttered, for example with so many redundant kitchen items.

Reviewer Comments: My concern was finding bats in the chimney that not only made constant noises, but with us having to come up with a work around to protect us from them entering via the fireplace. I put the guard flat up against the fireplace, then put a side table on the hearth to brace against the guard, then turned the couch around to brace against the side table. Moving the couch, made it more disruptive to conversations.The thing that concerned me the most was the lack of communication of advising us of the bats and that it was supposed to be taken care of. I fortunately know of the habits of bats and knew how to protect us.However, I feel that Wilgus and the owners put themselves at great risk of legal issues due to being aware of them and not either immediately removing them or at least close the fireplace off until the issue it taken care of. As for recommending the unit, I would the unit, but maybe not using Wilgus due to the error of communication. Concern would be 'what else would you be holding back'?thank you, Edna=Wynne Raley

Good location, property questionable

The location of this property is great for families, with an easy, safe walk to the beach and very limited street traffic. The property has plenty of sleeping room and very nice outdoor spaces. However, the entry floor to the property - which sleeps eight guests - has an incredibly strong and persist chemical smell. The smell is likely coming from the garage, which houses gasoline, paint thinner, and wood finishing chemicals. Moreover, the owners indicate that the windows to the bedroom on this floor should remain closed. At best, the oder is unpleasant. Beyond that, it did give one of the guests a headache, and she moved to sleep upstairs. I mentioned this to the property manager only to find out they were well aware of it, indicating they had the smell "tested." If they're concerned enough to have it tested, why not communicate this up front? I felt manipulated. The terms are only partially communicated to the renter when booking and paying a non-refundable deposit, which feels manipulative. If I could include an attachment to this review, I provide the 6 page rental agreement and 1 page community rules agreement to which you must consent AFTER having paid a deposit. The agreement and community rules are not unreasonable, but why not provide them to tenants prior to collecting the deposit? We also manage property. We make terms clear prior to collecting a cent. While the VRBO listing makes clear tenants are to provide sheets, it does not fully reflect the rental agreement, which states that all tenants are to furnish "blankets, paper goods, and soap products." Surprise! That's right. No toilet paper or hand soap in the bathrooms. That just feels cheap. While there, I reviewed prices for available nearby listings. I found better properties with similar location amenities for much less. Despite all of this, our family had fun because we were together and enjoyed the beach. If we come back, I'll look elsewhere.

I caution those booking on 3rd party platforms to make sure that they understand the terms of the rental as supplied by the listing agency. VRBO has a set of rules that do not necessarily apply to the home that you are looking at. Feel free to call Wilgus Associates to review the contract information before booking.

Great old beach house with plenty of room and well stocked for all activities. All properties in Cotton Patch can access the beautiful beach through a network of walkways.

Do not stay!

We arrived late but wasn’t a problem bc key pick up was easy. When we got to house and went inside we were smacked in the face with the overwhelming smell of gasoline. We went upstairs and closed the door at the top of the steps so you couldn’t smell it anymore. The house was rustic and eclectic, but was covered wall to wall in furniture. There was literally so many chairs randomly placed around the living space that it was hard to walk around. In addition, there were hairballs, dust and trash scattered around the floor and trash in the showers. We checked out the upstairs bedrooms, which were decent and went back downstairs to see the larger downstairs bedroom. We ended up not being able to use the downstairs bedroom bc the smell of gasoline was so overpowering. We called the property manager who told us that the smell had something to do with the house foundation and they had it checked- it wasn’t toxic....which means they KNEW that the house smelled when they listed it and didn’t disclose that. The smell was so bad that we had to buy blowup mattresses for the 4 people who would have had to sleep in that room. Management also apologized for the lack of cleanliness and told us no one had been in the house for 3 weeks and gave us back cleaning fee. However, for the amount of money we spent and time planning etc, this house put a damper on our trip. I would not stay at this house again or recommend it to others.

Please do not let this review deter you from this beach cottage. The smell is from a compound used on the pilings. (Most do not even notice it) Many will recognize it as the smell when you walk on the pier... a beach smell. Some people are sensitive to it, just like they are to flowers.
