Great home for the price!

This home accommodated us well for our one-night need. The home is in process of updating, which seems to have attributed to electrical issues with 2 of the bedrooms and a bathroom. However, my family and I enjoyed our time together in the space, and the owner offered to provide a discount for the inconvenience. The only drawback for me really was the location. The home is off of a very busy street and in a not-so-safe neighborhood.

PLEASE READ BEFORE BOOKING!We had a very disappointing experience with this rental. The listing was misleading because it did not clearly disclose that the host lives in a separate residence at the back of the property and that guests are sharing the same residential lot and backyard. Had we known this, we would not have booked, especially since we were traveling with small children.When we arrived, there were two broken-down vehicles in the driveway, including one parked in the area where we were instructed to leave our car. The property also has bars on all of the windows, something that was not apparent from the listing photos since there are no clear exterior pictures.The surrounding neighborhood did not feel safe for our family. There were numerous homeless individuals in the area, a run-down apartment complex across the street, and an abandoned strip mall nearby. After seeing the property and the location, we immediately contacted the host and explained that we were uncomfortable staying there, particularly with someone living in the backyard.We did not ask for a full refund—we only requested a partial refund because we understood that the reservation had been made. Despite the fact that we never stayed in the rental for even a single minute, the host refused to work with us in any way.As a result, we had to find and pay for a hotel at the last minute. We feel the listing should be much more transparent about the living arrangement and the property itself.
