High Point Mountain House is a special retreat with breathtaking views spanning from the Catskills to the Berkshires to the Shawangunks and beyond! This unique property is situated on 23 acres and borders NY State land. This custom built, contemporary home offers open living spaces, cook's kitchen, curved wood solarium and stunning views from the wrap around porch. IMAGINE HAVING TO PAY A VIEW TAX!!!! The cedar interior walls offer an additional warmth to the hardwood floors throughout the first level.
Front entrance leads into lovely dining area with beautiful bay window overlooking view and side lawn. This room comfortably accommodates 8-10 people and includes wet bar for your entertaining pleasure.
The great room features cathedral ceilings and sliding glass doors which open out to the front deck overlooking the amazing view. This cozy, intimate space comfortably accommodates up to 14 guests. Enjoy gathering around the field stone fireplace (with wood stove insert) while relaxing with a great read, bottle of wine, or that special someone!
Master suite is located directly off the living room with private en suite bathroom. This bathroom is connected to curved wood solarium which also is a special, private space. This gorgeous room is all glass with curved wood beams and it feels as though you're sitting on top of the world!
The cook's kitchen is a great space and is fully equipped with new contemporary, glass cook top with downdraft. New wall oven offers air fryer feature and more; built- in microwave as well as outdoor gas grill offer several options for preparing your meals here. The sliding glass door opens out to the side deck.
An additional family room with TV is included, with access to the rear deck.
The upstairs consists of 4 generously sized bedrooms. It also offers a shared bathroom with double sinks, bathtub/shower and laundry room with toilet.

Perfect mountain getaway

We came for a secluded mountain getaway. Away from hectic holiday season- we just relaxed, played games, enjoyed nature and view. It exceeded our expectations!! Bernadette genuinely cared about our stay and our comfort!

Gorgeous house with a great view!

Had a get together with friends at Bernadette’s gorgeous house! The view from the porch is incredible, plenty of comfortable beds, and plenty of amenities such as a grill and a firepit. Bernadette was very communicative and responsive. I would definitely stay here again!

Great fun for friends trip

This large house with fun spaces was more then perfect for our group of 6 adults. There were games, beautiful out door spaces, a cooks kitchen and truly phenomenal views. Plenty of spaces for us to all hang out or for little groups to break off and chat. We were happy having access to Catskills activities towns to visit, trails and lakes for walking and kayaking. The owner was always available to help and we loved the many coffee options.

Tranquil

The view is something you usually only see in a painting! Bernadette is an amazing host that is very attentive and accommodating. The house is beautiful to say the least, and with so much soul you can feel the love they used to build their stunning getaway. We will definitely be returning hopefully in the fall so we can sit out on the wrap around porch and see all the beautiful colors that the valley below has to offer!

Amazing Experience

My friends and I were looking for a place for 8 of us to enjoy the weekend and it was awesome. The house location has one of the most beautiful sights of any VRBO house I've stayed at. Between the incredible audio systems, furniture layout, overall living room aesthetics, and living room windows designed to take advantage of the beautiful view, the interior was ideal for our group. The host was in constant communication with us and gave clear directions for entering and leaving the house. Highly recommend.

Birthday celebration

We chose this property for the spacious private location, near Woodstock NY, The view and comfort level of the property is truly exceptional. We had a weekend long get-together with family and friends, and were able to relax on the deck for hours in the evening, while enjoying the local sights during the day. Several of our party even got up early just to catch the beautiful sunrise over the mountains. There was plenty of room for pir party, and we even had a chef come ti the property and make a special meal. The homeowner was exceptionally communicative, helpful, and accommodating.

the most gorgeous catskills escape

This home is the perfect balance of cozy and spectacular, and we had the most wonderful weekend staying at High Point Mountain House. The view is unparalleled, the space was comfortable and well-appointed, and we loved that there was constantly a new detail to discover in a space that is so clearly built and maintained with love. Ten of us stayed here for a wedding nearby, and the only complaint is that we didn't have more time to stay home and enjoy the house and its property. A true escape. And a great trip was made even better by Bernadette, who is thoughtful, kind, & communicative, and whose genuine investment in the quality of our time there was the epitome of hospitality. Thank you, Bernadette, for being SO lovely.

Wonderful mountain escape close to New York City

Bernadette is a gracious and attentive host who made my four-person group's stay at her mountain home (which she built herself!) over the July 4th weekend a very enjoyable one. We had more than enough room to relax in separate spaces around the house and property. The kitchen is well-appointed, and we took advantage of the grill. Since it was mid-summer, Bernadette thoughtfully provided a large number of vertical-style fans, making it easy for us to move air around wherever we needed it. The house has a unique glass-enclosed sun room, which was a bit like a sauna in the summer, but which is no doubt a very comfortable place to hang out during the cooler months. The real kicker, however, is the view down the side of the mountain across the Hudson River valley, visible from the expansive porch and living room. It is simply spectacular. And our panoramic view of several distant towns' worth of July 4th fireworks was icing on the cake. Thank you for sharing your home with us, Bernadette!

Location as promised, a very private getaway

Let me start off by saying Bernadette is a very attentive host, communication was great despite the fact that she was dealing with a family emergency during our trip. The location is exactly what my friends and I were after - an escape with no neighbors in sight, a place where we could cook, play cards, and gaze at the stars with minimal light pollution. All the amenities promised were there, all the utilities worked as expected, and the view was phenomenal. Be aware that the home has some rustic characteristics. This is to be assumed given how remote it is, but some people may still be surprised so it's worth mentioning to set expectations. Certain handles are loose, certain doors are jammed, the accordion doors to the downstairs bathroom do not have a way to lock and do not really offer audible privacy, there are nails in certain walls that you can walk into if you're not looking, etc. But all the major appliances worked, including the generator which kept us going without a hiccup even though power was out for about half the weekend. So in the end, everyone was warm, fed, comfortable and happy.

A DREAM!

This place is magical! The pictures can’t do the view justice. We came with 9 guests and there was plenty of room for everyone to be altogether comfortably. Bernadette is an incredibly friendly and accommodating host. She was so flexible with us when we had some last minute needs/adjustments and ensured that we all felt comfortable and had an amazing stay. Would absolutely come back here!!

I stayed here with a group of friends for 2 nights, and we had the BEST time ever! The house has such an amazing atmosphere, and the view is absolutely stunning (I woke up early one morning to see the sunrise, and it was totally worth it)! Between roasting marshmallows outside, to playing games in the living room, to even turning off all the lights during a storm so we could see all the lightning, I don't think we could've asked for a better weekend! Spectacular getaway views!

Bernadette was an amazing and attentive host! The location was a dream, just 2 or so hours outside of the city and secluded enough to feel like you were in the middle of the woods without being stranded in the middle of the woods. The views from the mountain house are enough to come back for more. The house itself was cozy and inviting, but definitely a well lived in home. Nothing too fancy and new, but homey none the less. A few things could use some updates, but nothing large enough that would keep us from coming back!

Amazing views and lovely home

Our family of 5 adults enjoyed Bernadette's house immensely, and the views are quite amazing. We enjoyed the July 4th fireworks across the valley, hikes in the woods nearby, a trip into the village of Woodstock and many beautiful sunrise and sunset views. We would definitely go back!

Perfect cabin for a getaway from the city

Bernatte's home is beautiful and the view is stunning. This is one of the only rentals I've stayed at where I can truly say that the pictures do not do the place justice. It was the perfect place for me and 8 of my friends to get away from the city for a nice long weekend. I can't wait to come back.

The location was super convenient and accessible for upstate standards. There was a Walmart about 20 min away for any last minute needs. Overall it was an amazing stay and we will definitely be back!
